A large Terran frigate emerges from hyperspace nearby. It looks like a shuttle but far wider with four massive arms hanging beneath it. Smaller and more specialized arms and clamps are folded up in its underbelly. TCNS EUPHRATES is stamped on the side in massive yellow letters. Your comms spring to life.
“Sorry about the delay let’s get you somewhere safer.”
Welcome to the sector Commander, I got you on sensors on the way in so I'm packed and ready to go whenever you are. Currently onboard my ship, do you need any assistance for setting up the tug?
“Awesome, so the big ass arms are gonna grab your ship, I’m gonna have my engineers crawl around on it first and mark the attachment spots. Just strap in and hold on for dear life.”
The Euphrates looms closer to your ship and six orange-clad astronauts jetpack over and begin climbing around the exterior with sensors and spray paint for marking. One waves at you through your window.
“Uhh my guys are getting some weird readings… didn’t you mention one of your previous bases was compromised by the affini? Is this ship compromised?”
Ship shouldn't be, I have been very careful not to actually ever connect it to the base. I do however, have one of their compilers onboard I've been tweaking trying to remove some of their restrictions on, could it be that?
[somewhere within the mobile hab unit, jump supression activates]
[An alert tone sounds in Hazel's ship, with the computer reading out Hypermetric Interference]
@agonizedspacetrooper Cmdr. are you getting anything on scanners? I'm getting jump suppression readings coming out of... (Thinking aloud, under her breath) the mobile hab the seaweed forced on me..
(Urgently) Scratch that Commander, does the Euphrates have any weaponry, and do you remember that maneuver we discussed earlier?
“Oh she’s got a little pretty nasty payload on her for something of her size, but where’s that interference coming from? Our scanners are jumpy about it and I certainly hope it’s something on your ship because if there’s an affini vessel nearby we’re gonna need reinforcements”
[immadiately, the signal gets interference as It gets hijacked. The voice of Stylone eventualy comes Through]
> little ones, I would like to let you to know I'm preventing Hazel from being labeled a feralist. Also, that hab unit is much safer that that deathtrap you called the Euphrates? You cuties are exposed to a background radiation that is slooowly giving you cancer
> what I'm trying to say, if you two continue like this, You'll be putting yourselves and others in danger. Shipminds are automated systems, and by simply talking with a clerk you can get out of "certain domestication" quite easily as long as you're Happy and healthy
> Also, captain Graves, you get a prime oportunity to "study enemy technology" even though we're not your enemies, just your caretakers
