Split runs
I read a article on runners world the other day about split long runs. These are were you run a portion of you run in the morning and then the rest later on in the day - perfect for when you have a busy life style which does not allow you to go for a two/three hour run. I had a cross country race this morning, approximately 5.4 miles. To ensure I was still ticking off the miles i then went for a slow (no watch) 5 mile run about 7 hours later. This 5 mile recovery run was very slow and at one point very painful, however it has put my mind at easy! I will now look back on week 4 and say I had two great races (I finish 7th and 3rd) and I also did a 10 miler on the Sunday 😃
