Feysand stans: Nesta threatening to kill Feyre is abuse!
Also Feysand stans: Rhys threatening to kill Nesta is so hot 🥵🔥
Sounds like misogyny to me.
they don’t even try to hide their hatred for women lmao
the darkling is a momma's boy
"The Darkling sighed and ran his hands through his dark hair in exasperation. When he looked at me, there was a rueful smile on his lips, and his hair was going every which way. “Baghra has her own way of doing things,” he said. “Don’t patronize me, boy!” Her voice cracked out like a whip. To my amazement, I saw the Darkling stand up straighter and then scowl as if he’d caught himself"
She should've scolded him more
Assuming Emorie happens, how do you think Emerie would react to how Mor treated Nesta?
HAH! Break from prompts for T H I S ! ! !
So here’s the thing. I know Emorie is happening. SJM gives approx 1 second of thought to LGBTQIA+ characters. If she can’t put her personal post partum or horniness onto them then she’s like yeah sure these 2 both like women. Match made in heaven.
So, how do I THINK Emerie will react to how Mor treated Nesta? I don’t. I don’t think she will. I think they will fall in love conveniently enough to tick a box and it will be made out that Emerie feels she doesn’t deserve Mor because she is so *beautiful* I think they will have sexy training eyes and then just be together.
How would I LIKE Emerie to react?
“Nesta told me you hate her,” Emerie narrowed her brows.
Mor waved a hand though the air, casually, lightly, the way she brushed everything aside. Early trauma teaching her that nothing but life and death had any bearing on the world. “I didn’t like her before she and Cassian mated, but I don’t feel that way anymore.”
“Why didn’t you like her before?”
“You know why,” Mor rolled her eyes, trying to pull Emerie’s into bed. The warrior stood her ground. “Nesta let Feyre-”
“I let my dad kill my mom.” Emerie stared into Mor’s brown eyes, shoulders set and heart in her throat. It was the same thing she said to Nesta when her sister had bared why she had fallen so low. Why the High Lord had cast her aside.
“That isn’t the same.” Mor’s fierce protectiveness flared up. “That wasn’t your job. You were just a kid and he was-”
“I was 19.” Emerie swallowed. “And it wasn’t my fault. It was my father’s fault.”
“What is your point?”
“Feyre was a child,” Emerie said slowly. Mor nodded. “And so was Elain.” Mor nodded again. “And so was Nesta.” Mor’s eyebrows shot up. “Just because she was the oldest doesn’t mean she wasn’t still a child.”
“I don’t have a problem with Nesta now,” Mor tried to placate.
“No. But you and Rhys act like your acceptance is a gift. Like she doesn’t deserve it.”
“It isn’t about age,” Mor sighed. “She let Feyre sacrifice for her.”
“Nesta took Hybern’s head while I was safe in Illyria. She saved Feyre’s life and preserved the hierarchy of Night form falling to your father while I was recovering from the same thing she had just gone through.”
Mor blinked.
“So I guess I just want the truth. Do you not like her because she is morally flawed in your mind, and you can’t respect her… or do you not like her because she isn’t always nice? I need you to pick one because if you don’t respect her then you don’t respect me. And I won’t be with someone who doesn’t respect me.”
EMERIE I LOVE YOUUU
me realizing nesta has a chance of becoming a new white "feminist ", like feyre has been all these books, and might even be supporting rhys, who is a sexual offender, due to Sarah Janet mass terrible writing
i've been seeing all these tiktoks about how many shots someone would have to take before hooking up with aco/tar characters and then they say zero for ricesand
i completely agree, besties - he would drug you somehow and then do all the hooking up himself (he doesn't even have to ask)
this post be speaking them facts
do you wanna be moots? nesta archeron supremacy >
yesssss. nesta>>>>>>>>>>
it... kind of speaks volumes, a bit, when people say Nesta let Feyre go into the woods
As someone who has younger siblings and was also forced to take upon a parental role, I find it hard to believe that Nesta could successfully keep Feyre from going to the woods
I feel like, as a person who is the eldest daughter and as someone parentified as a child, I can kind of put one foot in each of their worlds, almost
Feyre is the youngest, she is stubborn and will do what she has to do. She takes on a parentification role herself because that is what she thinks she has to do in order to survive. Her sister is not going to be able to stop her if she even tried
She has a strong moral core where she feels the need to take on the responsibility so they don't starve. If you are forced into the role of parentification, you will do everything in your power to make sure nothing around you crumbles because if it does you have failed everyone and your failure- her failure- could have them all starve to death
Nesta is the oldest and she is just as stubborn as Feyre. She refuses the role of parentification by standing still and trying to force her father into being the parent
Observing the Fandom and in the writing, it's as if everyone points their finger the most at Nesta because she is the oldest. Elain doesn't have nearly the same amount of people trying to condemn her for not 'letting' Feyre hunt- but she's also not the eldest
Nesta let her go hunting, Nesta refused to do anything about their situation, Nesta refused to take care of her family
This series has a very sexist world and our world is sexist too. Everyone in that world expected Nesta to take on the burden and when she didn't she was condemned for refused to be a parent to her sisters by everyone in the Inner Circle
Our world is very similar. it is entrenched in our society that burdens fall on the shoulders of the eldest daughter. from money to housework to emotional support to glorified babysitters. we are forced to be parents if not to our siblings than to also our parents. Every single one of us is capable of internalized misogyny because our world is entrenched in misogynistic microaggressions exactly like this
I think there are equal parts resentment and disgust with Nesta depending on the role we were forced to take on.
As an eldest daughter who was parentified, maybe you were disgusted with Nesta for refusing to take care of her family like you are. As an eldest daughter who was parentified you might resent her for making the choice you didn't get
Or, like myself, I respect her for refusing the role and trying to make her father be the parent because she realized that is not her job
This notion that Nesta let Feyre go hunting is sexist. It is rooted in an entwined part of our culture. Oldest daughters are parents and when we do not fall in line and accept that role we are then vilified and ostracized
we didn't do enough, we were selfish, were cruel for not taking care of our families
Nesta subverts the expectation that we carry the burdens of our families. She breaks the mold that is placed on all eldest daughters in our society and that, I believe, is a significant reason why people absolutely hate her and adore Feyre, and why I think their father gets overlooked
Nesta refused the role of the parent
and Feyre took the role upon herself
and their father is just the embodiment of what a lot of fathers are in our society
Nesta is selfish and Feyre is selfless and their father is useless
As the eldest daughter we are not given the grace of having the choice to not take that role. Of course this does not mean other siblings do not take on this role at times at all
This post is mostly meant for the perspective of the eldest daughters and those who have been parentified, but if anyone else resonates with this I hope you understand where I'm trying to come from
I hope this post makes sense because I'm really tired and should really be sleeping lol
I think the... uncomfortableness people have with Feyre taking on the role of a parent instead of Nesta is less about misogyny and more about how the elder person is expected to take on the responsibilities after their parent is a failure.
But it is absolutely right that it is wrong to hate Nesta for it. She made her own choice about how to deal with the added responsibility. She never told Feyre to take on the parenting role, Feyre took it because no one else was taking it. Elain wasn't obliged to take it either, but the way her character narrative and her gardening skills are presented, it feels wrong to not help out.
I have always loved Nesta's character. The fault she had in this situation was being cruel to and belittling her sister who was ultimately the person helping her survive.
nesta: ...
cassian *sees angry spiteball*: I chose this one. this one mine. I love her forever
SJM really thinks making F/eyre self aware is good thing, like girl what's the point of being aware of your toxic traits but not doing anything about it? If anything it's even worse because she knows she's hurting people but just doesn't wanna do anything to help because she's too busy fucking R/hysand
feyre: oh no, the people of velaris really are struggling after the destruction the war brought 🥺
also feyre: spends an absurd amount of money designing her 6th mansion
Remember when Fur Rug and the body attatched to her pet dick aka Rice Sand tore down an existing apartment and kicked out all it’s residents to provide ‘sanctuary for those displaced by the war’, with no plans for where to house the former, while using the land cleared as a result of it to built ANOTHER mansion for herself?
LET THEM KNOW
when people say “b-b-but feyre HAD to lock nesta in a house because she was embarrassing her and rhys”
seriously?
mor, azriel and cassian all canonically slept around and drank their weight in alcohol for CENTURIES and it’s not embarrassing? cassian publicly banging someone against a wall is less embarrassing than nesta privately bringing guys home?
feyre destroying a court when she’s supposed to be a high lady is less embarrassing than nesta drinking and keeping to herself?
feyre breaking the rules of the high lord meeting and using her powers to attack court officials is less embarrassing than nesta drinking?
feyre and rhysand banging in the sky over velaris is less embarrassing than what nesta was doing?
feyrug and riceman designing their 6th mansion while their citizens are struggling after the war is less embarrassing than what nesta was doing?
feyre saying that nesta was embarrassing her is so funny to me because feyrug, rhystrash and the inner circle have single handedly embarrassed themselves so much 😭😭😭 anyways, let’s finally admit feyre pulled a tamlin on nesta and move on 👯♂️
