The energy women waste trying to "fix" men and boys who simply don't want to shut the fuck up and behave could be spent fast tracking women and girls to success instead.
Rapists are often spoken of in such a distanced way. Especially by males. They will act like these men are uncanny and otherworldly, as if only a small minority of them are the ones committing all these crimes. As if some spooky boogeyman is lurking in some dark alley assaulting and killing thousands of women at once.
Most men won't even call their actions rape. A man can wheedle and coax a reluctant woman into having sex with him and won't think anything wrong with it, a man would climb onto his sleeping wife and go "but we're married!", a man will purposely shower a woman with gifts and then say "now you owe me".
Rape is opportunistic. Even a man who has no track record or ever entertained the thought will jump on the chance once he thinks he can get away with it. There's no physical trait associated with it. A man could be courteous and kind and make you feel safe and then turn around and assault you. There is no way to predict which man is a rapist.
And it's because there's no way to tell, that they maintain this narrative of rapists being beastlike and abnormal. It's just another way of refusing to take accountability.

Well, guess what? Advanced human concepts like law, art, culture, language, and social identity don't exist in other animals either. As summer approaches, as someone who lives in an area that gets more touristy every year I keep getting pissed off
Travel groups, bloggers, influencers jne will always say stuff like "talk to LOCALS. this is a place LOCALS reccomend. Listen to the LOCALS for cool hidden gems" and as soon as we local people say things like hey, maybe dont use airbnb because they take all the affordable housing in the area and make the city centre unlivable for us? All of a sudden its "shut up! You should be GRATEFUL for my MONEY" we're a fun feature of the landscape until it comes to being respected as people and not glorified theme park employees
while people in the notes are being sexy and cool and chiming in with their diverse experiences, im adding a very specific eastern european one i've had dealing with western tourists (as someone who sometimes tour guides here)

I've always loved music. Atp, the worst thing for me about decentering men is how much great music I can't get into anymore. It's almost like I'm breaking up with songs lol.
Lyrics are important to me. Even if you have music on low volume, you're subconsciously taking in the lyrics and they can effect your feelings and actions. So its a tip for those of you who are having difficulties in decentering men, to try and find music which doesn't have romantic lyrics.
Programming the brain with what we take in, works on multiple levels and we know from physics that sound frequencies have powerful effects.
I'm going to make a Spotify playlist of good music (multiple genres) which only has lyrics that aren't specifically about sex / romance. Feel free to comment or reblog with suggestions.
It's shaping up to be a playlist excluding songs like Paris Palomas Labour, as much as I love that song. Music like that has its place, but I'm not in that place like I was last year.
Some of the songs have angry lyrics which are more vague, as this playlist is about moving away from focus on either men, or women as the main toxic type of people. It's so we can enjoy good music, but also to help us not focus on the toxic dynamic which is created by both sides. When we're no longer participating in that dynamic, eventually we heal and move on to self-empowerment.
These are not specifically anti-sex songs though. I doubt there are any of those.
It's mainly in the rock and electronic genres so far; I may include some folk, and fusions like world or bluegrass. I'm thinking over music I haven't heard in a while and it will likely be a long playlist that takes multiple days to make. Idk if anyone remembers 8-tracks, but I had one playlist which was close to 200 songs lol. If people want, then after, I can leave the playlist titled, Music For Sovereign Women and make separate playlists limited to one genre each.
Please only suggest songs which include genuine emotion. I'm adding as many solo female artists as I can, whose songs I love. Because I have to exclude so many songs [as so much good music is ruined by sexual lyrics] I'm including female-fronted bands whose other members are men.
(For clarity, sovereign women are separatists from men [think 4b] permanently or as an experiment. I know some women only consider permanently celibate women to be sovereign, but I think that excludes women who we can help feel comfortable in the lifestyle, so they avoid the headaches and heartbreaks that we endured. When we're welcoming towards women, it can help them build up and maintain the strength for permanent celibacy.
About a decade ago, the first period of time I spent celibate was a test for me, so I'm not one of those bp women who call non-virgin women names. I relate. I began my permanent and voluntary celibacy in 2022.
