āOh, for fucks sakeāā
Is not the appropriate reaction to your boyfriend of ten years on his knee, presenting a glittering ring to you after nearly pounding you into a blissful coma.
But after seventeen times it gets annoying.
āCan you give a man a moments rest?ā Brock complains.
Jack grins, wily and full teeth. āGotta hit you when youāre weakest; all strung out and cuddly after a good fuck.ā
āTrying to trick me when I have cum-brain?ā Brock asks.Ā
āI like to think of it more as post-nut clarity.ā Jack quips.
Jack may have wrangled him into a (mostly) monogamous relationship kicking and screaming, but marriage is where Brock draws the line. But it doesnāt matter how many times Brock has said no to his proposal, Jack is undeterred. Heās a man of iron will, steadfast, persistent, patient, and with an audacity that doesnāt quite fit his reserved nature.
āSoā¦?ā Jack insists.
Brock just glowers. He reaches over with agonizing slowness and gently closes the lid of the ring box with a deafening click.
āNo.ā
Jack doesnāt yell, or cry, or even frown, none of the normal emotions one might project after rejection. No, he laughs.
Itās nothing like his first proposal. Disappointment, but not surprise. Just quiet acceptance. Brock had after all made his position on marriage extremely clear long before that.
The second proposal didnāt come for a long time after that. But that time, he took Brockās rejection as a challenge, emboldened by the fact that although he wouldnāt agree to marriage Brock still intended to stick around. The third time could have passed as a joke, and ever since his proposals have taken on a teasing nature. Like itās an game between them. Brock expects that one day heāll propose in public just to embarrass him.
Jack shrugs. āNext time, then.āĀ Heās still grinning, and Brock has to resist grinning back.
āNo next time.ā Brock whines.
āNext time for sure.ā
I wish people would stop sayingĀ āItās July. Well done for wasting half a year.ā Did you make someone smile in the past six months? Did you stroke a cat or throw a stick for a dog? Did you learn a new fact or teach someone a new joke? Did you laugh, cry, scream or sing in the past six months? Because if so, congratulations for not wasting your time at all.
I really needed this
Iām bringing this back for December to remind everyone.
You did not waste your year.
If you made it this far, thatās already not wasting your year.
You made it through the year, you laughed, you cried, you smiled, you saw the sun and felt the rain, and most importantly, youāre still here.
You did not waste your year.
You mad it this far, and Iām proud of you.
Bringing this back for 2020 to tell you:
DUDE.
YOU SURVIVED A MOTHERFUCKINGĀ
PANDEMIC.
You lived through what is, and Iām not exaggerating, a fucking apocalyptic event.Ā DURING a major political crisis to boot! This year, still having a pulse is a major accomplishment, and Iām so glad youāre here.
There's lots of talk out there about working through trauma via dark fanfiction. I'm not saying anything against that - there's nothing wrong with it. But I do think there's an unfortunate implication being made in a lot of those posts. Accidentally or not, the implication being made is that trauma is the reason people enjoy dark content. That there needs to be a justification at all.
Guys, trauma is not the only reason to enjoy dead dove do not eat content. You don't need trauma to justify liking it. You don't need anything to justify liking it. You can just...like it. I get the point of those posts is to stop people from harping on others when they might be digging into said trauma, or harassing others for their coping methods, which is definitely wrong - but let's be clear in our intent and not alienate people that are just here for the fun of it. Let's not make people think they need a reason to enjoy what they do.
You don't need trauma to justify liking dark things. You can just like it and if that's all there is to it, that's perfectly okay.
horror movies, serial killer documentaries, splatterhouse-type games, etc - these are billion-dollar industries
there is a real, valid, profitable part of the human psyche that loves dark shit when itās in a situation we can control
what do you think is the appeal of roller coasters? danger, controlled
i donāt give one single solitary shit what your particular dark fic itch is. seriously, i donāt care. it doesnāt matter. yes, even whatever super gross objectionable thing you just thought of - it literally doesnāt matter. unless real, live, non-hypothetical people are hurt in the making of a thing, thatās just how humans be. sometimes we gaze into the abyss, to see if we can handle it when the abyss gazes back.
itās called catharsis, something that humans have understood since the ancient Greeks at the very least, and certain people on this website need to fuckinā look that shit up

Excuse me.
One of the first women to start her own independent production company.
Earned her way to stardomĀ without sleeping with executives for roles.
Refused to date people for publicity just because 20th Century Fox wanted her to.
Left 20th Century Fox because she refused to let them get away with treating her badly and paying her a tiny wage, just because of her ādumb blondeā image.
Was only paid a fraction of her co-starās wage even though she was the star of the movies and the biggest box office pull, but still went ahead with the movies because she was so passionate about acting.
Studied method acting at the Actors Studio with Lee Strasberg, who said that she was one of his best students along with Marlon Brando.
Had a personal library of over 500 books and rarely read fiction - she was desperate to learn and educate herself.
Was sexually abused as a child but then went on to encourage the sexual liberation of women in the 1950s.Ā
One of the first people to speak openly about sexual abuse.
One of the first people to openly support gay rights.
Supported many charities such as the Milk Fund, March of Dimes, Arthritis and Rheumatism foundation.
Donated her time and money to these charities.
Visited orphanages and hospitals on her own time to surprise the people there.
Married one of the greatest literary minds of the 20th century
Suffered two miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy and still put on a brave face for her fans.
Sorry, did you say she wasnāt a role model?Ā
marilyn is my biggest role model so donāt even go there
and letās not forget this
Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to play at the popular Mocambo, in Hollywood, because of her race.Ā Marilyn, who loved her music and supported civil rights, called the owner of the Mocambo and told him that if he booked Ella immediately, she would take a front table every night. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. After that, Ella never had to play in a small jazz club again.
āShe was an unusual woman ā a little ahead of her times. And she didnāt know it.āĀ - Ella Fitzgerald about Marilyn Monroe
OH SHIT YOU JUST GOT SERVED
I got goosebumps reading this. Amazing.
I will always reblog this. She has the mind and heart Iāve always admired, I strive to be like her every day.
A queen
She is beauty
She is grace
She will punch racists, homophobes, sexists and rapists in the FUCKING JAW
Basically shes amazing role model. OP along with anyone else who believes the the same thing you need to learn to not base your judgement of an actor of the roles the play and what the media wants you to think.
Op got served ha!
This is just too hilarious XD

They love, they laugh, they cry, they break each other's heart, they get hurt, death do them apart, but still they are meant to be together no matter what.

Once more Scarlett proves herself to be the same iconic actress weāve loved all these years. Roles are not definitive (which is why we have Halle Bailey playing Ariel) and I love it.
Why am I surprised that people are bashing her because she has the audacity to suggest she should be allowed the freedom to accept the roles sheās offered.
Still stand by her šš½šš½
I would just like to take a second to thank every single fanfiction writer whoās ever published a fic. In the last 3 weeks, Iāve read over 890,000 words of fanfiction while in quarantine. I know legally, fanfiction writers are not consideredĀ āessentialā but let me tell you: they are essential to me. Essential to my sanity, my wellbeing, my happiness. Fic gives me so much joy and such a love for the world and the people in it, and fic writers donāt ask for anything in return, except occasional engagement. So from the bottom of my heart: thank you fic writers. Thank you for keeping me company during this time of isolation. Thank you for writing stories that give me hope and take my mind off of my anxiety. Thank you for making me laugh even when I donāt think itās possible. Thank you for giving me something to be excited about when it feels like the world is falling apart around me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.Ā

Oh Lord.
Okay, so I genuinely donāt remember how I ended up finding out about Hydra Husbandsābecause I sure as hell hadnāt seen the movie at that point (and actually I still havenāt)
I do know it started with an a/b/o Rumlow/Asset fic, which was basically just PWP. Then I think what probably happened is that I Googled the characters and the actors who played them, realised I didnāt possess an ounce of interest in Bucky Barnes, then found various images of a tall, good-looking guy who appeared on-screen with Frank Grillo in multiple scenesā¦and the rest, as they say, is history.
But I probably canāt tell you why I like these characters and this ship so much. Iām not seeking to work through past events in my own personal life through them or scenarios they feature in; I donāt get tingly feelings in the cellar imagining the actors together. I donāt particularly enjoy stories which are (as a friend once perfectly described them) written to satisfy a thirst, a kink, which reduce the characters to a) boring sex objects b) a coloring book of stereotypes c) something mindless, simple, and superficial.
I value complexity over simplistic conflict, and this ship can be rife with that complexity. Their motivations; their desires; the impact their actions and lifestyle have on them individually and together; the age difference; their status as commander and subordinateā¦Ā
So long as you can avoid the wholeĀ āHydra are Naziiiiiiis!!!!1ā² thing, you can have a lot of fun with them.
big shoutout to all those non-native English fanfic writers!!!! Your English is good!!!! Amen to you for sharing your talents in a language that is confusing in many many ways.
Please keep sharing, and also Iām free to beta!
