I was initially reluctant to release this, but someone asked me to, and in light of the scammer Ivysour/Savemysister continuously coming back (as well as spam reporting my blog until I got shadowbanned bc I called them out :I ), I've compiled a list of this particular scammers' behaviors and tactics when creating new scams. I'm releasing this in the hopes people might see it and, responsibly, use it to help decipher if a particular blog is possibly a scam, and likely part of the savemysister scam.
In case you didn't know, the user savemysister is a scam/scam ring that's been going on for a couple years now, and they've released multiple other fake fundraisers using multiple fake names, fake or stolen photos, and stories because their main scam, savemysister, had been called out so many times (but this particular scam is still active btw).
So, evidence of a certain person being a scammer from the savemysister scam ring should exhibit most or all the following behavior (in addition to suspicious behavior popularly exhibited by scammers lately, but more specifically, the scammer Ivysour, and in addition to the behavior of the savemysister scammer as shown in the link of the savemysister scam given in the previous paragraph)
The person asking for donations is based in the Phillipines (this alone does not make someone a scammer, at all. DO NOT use this alone as "evidence"). The savemysister scammer seems to be based in the Phillipines and ethnically Filipino, and has continuously used photos of people from the Phillipines as "evidence" for their fake donation posts (as opposed to some other scammers who change & falsify their ethnicity for their scams, which I've also seen here)
Its a fundraiser for someone who is not the direct reciever of the money. Usually its someone claiming to be fundraising for a close relative or just someone they have an undisclosed relationship with. Its usually them saying "im fundraising for my sister" or "this family needs help", its almost never these people fundraising for themselves
It's almost always for some kind of medical issues (pulmonary hypertension is a popular one)
The format is always the same: there'll be two photos next to each other; either both are photos of someone (usually who looks seriously ill) and then the "proof" in the text below showing doctor's forms, or it'll be the photo of the person & then the doctor form next to it in the photo
If they are fundraising for alleged medical reasons, the medical condition will be very vague & not elaborated upon (ex: the last scam claimed they needed money for dialysis because of "a heart disease" but did not elaborate which one)
If there's a person who looks unwell in the photo, often times they'll either look very out of it (like possibly half awake or sedated), they'll be looking away from the camera, or they'll be asleep
This fundraiser will often have multiple blogs reblogging from each other & going around asking people to reblog the donation post, or sometimes these multiple blogs will also have made another post for the same person
To add onto the above, they might have multiple paypals with different names advertised on these multiple tumblr blogs, but that these PayPals are all allegedly fundraising for the same person?
The blog has anon turned off, may have messages turned off, replies turned off, ignores anyone who asks them questions regarding more proof or the legitimacy of their fundraiser, and ignores anyone who calls them a scammer or publically asks them for more proof in the reblogs of their own post or in asks they sent about reblogging their post
States that they will "delete when funds are met" (convenient thing to use as an excuse so people will assume your funds were met & that you're genuine rather than the truth that you disappeared suddenly bc you got called out for scamming, right?)
Their multiple accounts asking people to donate to seemingly the same person or same post with have a username with the o's (one or more) replaced with 0's
Two different blogs fundraising for apparently two different people/fundraisers using identical wording (and I don't just mean they sound like the same person because of similar wording or personality, I mean IDENTICAL word for word, copy-pasted messages) in asks or messages for people to donate to their respective donations
The blog is pretty new, only has one post or a few posts on their blog. Sometimes their first post is the one asking for money
Profile pics & header is either something very generic (like a pfp of a cat, & a sunset background) or taken from google (I've seen "aesthetic" pics from pinterest or Instagram icons from unrelated profiles/people)
Alternatively, the photos they've provided as "evidence" for the person they're fundraising for, the photos they've given of allegedly the same person are obviously of two or more different people
Say that they'll update on the situation, but actually don't, if they do in some cases they only update how much money they have by going back and re-editing the same post or generally never reblog from themselves but keep re-editing the same post (I think I've seen this happening as a trend so there's no or limited evidence if they delete the post)
Alternatively, they continously delete and remake the same post multiple times, sometimes with new information, without clarifying why they've deleted their post multiple times
They ask someone to make their donation post for them, or a gofundme in their name or express desire that someone would
They have hidden any reblogs or replies in their donation post that accused them (with evidence) of being a scammer or have asked them questions (with evidence to back up the reasoning for questioning their sincerity) regarding possibly being connected to other scammers
In cases where they have multiple blogs fundraising for the same person: they suddenly delete donation posts that were reblogged/made and then abandon certain blogs for seemingly no reason, while others remain up and/or new blogs pop up fundraising for the identical purpose & person
& please don't take this to mean every fundraiser from someone from the Phillipines or is ethnically Filipino is a scammer, that is absolutely not true! but these accounts who keeps coming back, spamming, & making new accounts & this is all behavior I've seen from the scams coming from the people who run the savemysister scam & these are the tactics they keep using over and over. But i wouldn't be surprised if they tried to change up their tactics AGAIN because they seem to try something a little different with each new scam based on how they were called out before
Again, a post should exhibit most or all of this behavior AS WELL as most or all of the red flags of scammers here to be sure that it could POTENTIALLY be a scam. Please do not abuse this information to call anyone you don't like or anyone who asks for help a scammer.
