Author of The Light Invasion: an epic-length, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers Midlink slowburn in which the light spirits invade the twilight realm instead of the other way around.
So... I meant to make a lil graphic for my fic but somehow made this "trailer" instead...
The Light Invasion
An epic-length, Premise Reversal AU of 'Twilight Princess'.
âReally?â Midna spat. "As my people waste away in the shadows of their own world, youâre defending the 'handsome, well-mannered' war criminal who forced them there? How valiant of you, Mr Important Hero!â
The light spirits have abandoned Hyrule, plunging it into an ever-lasting night. Zeldaâs husband says that the light was stolen away. He says that the Twili are to blame. But Midna? She calls him a liar; she calls the missing daylight a burning apocalypse upon her realm; and she calls upon Link to betray his comrades, his prince, his queen, and his kingdom.
If you love...
enemies-to-friends-to-lovers Midlink
badass Zelda
charismatic villains

and hard-won happy endings
...then this is the fic for you!

Made in Canva, Art assets are all official game art (aside from Fabian's silhouette which I do not have a source for).
[ID: On a black background, four white circles phase in. The top left circle has a black silhouette of Zelda throwing out her right arm in the foreground and a shadowy silhouette of Sheik leaping in the background. The top right circle shows a black silhouette of Link standing and looking in the distance as the shadowy silhouette of Midna floats beside him. The bottom left circle shows black text that says 'The Light Invasion'. The bottom right circle has the medium close-up silhouette of a thin, short-haired man in the foreground with pointy Hylian ears, and the shadowy silhouette of Zant flourishing his sleeves menacingly in the background. One-by-one, the circles fade out.
Against the same black background, four lines of white writing fade in, saying the following: "Do you ever wonder what might happen if Hyrule was the instigator of the Twilight War?" The writing fades out.
The screen becomes diagonally divided into black on the bottom left and white on the top right. On the white, a black and Twilit portal appears with black writing along the diagonal that says "A realm of ceaseless daylight." On the black, the white silhouette of Hyrule Castle fades in at the bottom, along with white writing along the bottom that says "A realm of perpetual night." It fades away.
The screen then becomes diagonally divided again into white on the top left and black on the bottom right. Emerging from the diagonal line against the white background is the same black silhouette of a man with Hylian ears as before. Black words fade in above him saying "A husband who starts a war..." Emerging from the diagonal line against the black background is the white silhouette of Zelda. White words fade in beneath her saying "...while his queen is sick in bed".
The screen is divided in half vertically with white on the left and black on the right. In the centre is the standing silhouette of Link, divided in half to be black on the left and white on the right. On the left, black writing says "A chosen hero..." while on the right, white writing says "...loyalties divided".
The screen is divided in half horizontally, with black on the top and white on the bottom. In the top right is the white silhouette of Hyrule's crest with white writing beside it saying "Is his duty to his kingdom..." In the bottom left is a medium close-up of Midna's black silhouette with her right arm stretched out. Beside her, black writing says "...or the parasite in his shadow?"
The screen fades to white with black writing taking up most of the screen. It says 'The Light Invasion: an epic by Scarlet Curls'.]
there's something i notice a lot where i'll say something straightforwardly and the other person responds like i said something completely different and after a bit of pressing it turns out they just added a bunch of shit in their head based on a different conversation that i wasn't there for. and i'm told this is me missing social cues because i have a disorder but like how is that me having a disorder??
thought Iâd made a little savings in the last few months but they went all down into the toilet cause I had to pay 600ÂŁ in taxes đ every little bit helps
atla just so happened to write one of the most insane and complex brother sister relationships in all of television, and yet for some reason everyone focused on zuko and azula instead, even though they are basically just normal siblings, and as such not even that interesting ..
katara and sokka are what happens when you are your brotherâs mother and your brother also tries to be your father. you love them, you hate them, youâre half of them, you canât stand them, you look after them, they keep you safe.
azula and zuko are both just gifted kid burnouts with a dad that only loves the winner.
#yeah when they're not trying to kill each other azula and Zuko are p normal. #katara and sokka on the other hand spent the majority of their childhood trying to raise each other #and were also the ONLY kids in their age group that they ever interacted with. #they are so. they're so. #''i don't remember what my mom looks like I just picture katara'' WHEN HE HAS HIS MOTHER'S FACE. kills me. It's officially october here now so I'm sharing this. Although i originally planned to create something for each prompt, real life just makes it impossible for me. But i have a few ideas and wips for other prompts so I'll still be able to post some.
itâs so special to me that so much of fan culture is textual analysis for the love of the game. like thank god there are people in my phone who are also thinking about this thing i love so much that they are writing transformative fiction as character studies and setting clips of the show to music with theme-relevant lyrics and writing long text posts analyzing every line of dialogue like!! yay!!!
the one thing I really liked about the phm fandom (the like, month, it lasted. âItâ being respecting non-partnering aspecs) is that the character widely headcanoned as aroace was not, in fact, the stoic and closed off one. It wasnât the âemotionlessâ, distant, strict person. It wasnât Eva Stratt.
it was the bubbly one. It was Ryland goddamn Grace, the man who felt with his whole chest, the man who wore his heart on his sleeve, the one who cries his eyes out on-screen multiple times. He feels openly and freely. And he is still aroace.
The few times I encounter aroace headcanons itâs usually the characters like Eva. Nothing wrong with those people being aro, but thatâs almost all that there is in fan content. Being aroace isnât a personality. Itâs an orientation. And anyone of any orientation can have any personality. And finally, finally, I get to see it.
