Day 525 + 1036 of posting Aphmau memes till MyStreet season 7 comes out | another meme from the junk drawer, like do we even still believe the comet is going to be a danger or was it just to represent something, I forget the theories
MCD characters be like "we have our whole lives ahead of us" meanwhile an emo with mommy and daddy issues is about to pull up to the wedding
Laurance yearned for the man he once was in a way he not knew possible until now. Carefree was far from the right word to describe the man he once was, for he cared for all of Old Meteli and protected that town with his life. There was no weight on his shoulders, at least not the weight he walked with now. Now the burden that he dragged with him everywhere was not one he had taken on by choice. No responsibility he took on. He couldn't back away from it this time. For he had welcomed death with open arms and death turned him away. Thrusting him into a limbo where he wasn't dead, but he was far from alive. Haunted by brief moments in time he struggled to string together into a memory. Images burned into his brain matching the scars along his body that felt foreign. He had looked death in the eyes, and death waved the white flag. Awoken from a battle he did not know he won. Covered in scars he had no memory of receiving. The eyes of a man he had no recollection of meeting.
He yearned for the days in which his title was nothing more than The Casanova. For now the only think most would remember him for were his eyes. No longer the emerald green that struck down women's hearts. Rather a red that resembled blood, and felt like war. It was not a war with anyone but himself. A war that he knew he'd one day lose. An ever constant battle within himself to try and be the man he once was. The man who never won a battle with death.
People aren't really supposed to do that are they? Win a battle against death, at least no in the way he did. Sure people have near death experiences all the time, or get to the brink of death, only to come back to full health. They are alive though, they never actually die. He did though, death took him in only for him to escape it. There was no word for what he was, not quite dead, defiantly not alive though. He felt alive, but not in the sense that he once felt. No longer could he feel his body deteriorating like it once did. It could withstand far worse now, a perk in his line of work. Of course those he protected rarely saw it as that.
Laurance knew he was supposed to die, and stay dead that day. The Matron in all of her glory did not allow that though. For the woman he was willing to die for needed him. It mattered not that he was a willing soul to leave the mortal plane, for she had plans that he was needed for. She didn't plan on him dying that day, but she made sure no matter how much he begged for death to take him back it wouldn't.
It was cruel in a strange way. He didn't want to die, at least not actively. Whatever this was, whatever limbo it was that he was stuck in, he didn't want it. He was ready for it to be over, everyone he had loved and protected when he was alive was taken care of. They did not need him anymore, and yet the Matron did not allow him the sweet relief of death.
You mean to tell me Aphmau Diaries uploaded twice, mrpancake4344, flame, and wemmbu all posted in the same week.

Finally catching up on UU and minute is never beating the dad allegations. I just watched this man break up a fight
A drag path but it's the stones at my grandparents graves left by my ex best friend of nearly a decade. My parents and I standing in the cemetery knowing no one visits grandpa. Staring at the grave of a man I never knew, forced to remember just another person I lost. The stones tucked into the earth by someone I no longer know. The knowledge that there are two more stones each of us left at our classmates grave. A relationship transcending generations changing the narrative her great grandparents wrote. Her part in my life etched into the world alongside their gravestones.
Kudos to fanfiction writers for writing about all the trauma and emotional and mental turmoil that the original content creators dont acknowledge when putting characters through hell
This has evolved to one of fanfiction’s major assets in my eyes. To every author that cares enough about the characters in their stories to examine trauma, but also the slow, tedious processes of healing and recovery: your stories mean so much to me and other persons with mental health problems. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Society: We don’t talk about how anger is Often just masking grief

Guys, I know mcd is fantasy ofc, but what if it were written to be like, hard-core horror. Imagine the possibilities. Bc i am.
Its already a psychological horror!
Parrot's new video is genuinely just fueling my theory that all four of the UU protagonists are just Greek heros. Hubris will be the downfall of them all. (Rage for Spoke too much like Heracles)
Parrot was far from prepared for the debate. He came right at Lettuce using ad hominems to attack his personal character. Stating that Lettuce "sacrificed" those players, while there is an argument there, Parrot had no rebuttal, at least not one with any body of it. There was a way to prove that Wemmbu was freed, other than demanding that he is shown (a signed and dated book). He only ever briefly mentioned his own plans of ruling and instead of going for Lettuce's policies he went for his character itself.
Lettuce was prepared, very well, he is a good debater. While he is corrupt and power hungry he knows how to rally the masses for him. He was able to at least temporarily prove that he could capture Wemmbu. (I also noticed Lettuce wasn't in the fight much I feel like that could become relevant)
Parrot only briefly touched on the city in the amplified and failed to mention that they had reached out to law multiple times. Parrot didn't mention the Far lands city, helping to defeat the Mafia, and unfortunately killing The Director, someone who was his best friend. Time and time again Parrot proves that he will do what he thinks is right no matter what even if that means losing something or someone. Yet come the debate none of that came up, he instead played dirty right from the start stooping Lettuce's level. A call he could not have afforded to make.
Both Flame and Wemmbu believe they are the strongest and the most powerful in their own ways. Both believing they don't need anyone else to survive. Demanding independence because anytime they become dependent they lose something. Sure there is Egg, but that's because Wemmbu enjoys his presence and Egg needs him not vise versa.
In the 1000 players videos we see the men fight alongside each other, and more than anything, we see them helping each other. They are capable of working together, and with others. In doing so they admit they are not truly the best because their egos will not allow.
Then there is Spoke, his fatal flaws both hubris and rage. In the start of the series he flies too close to the sun and continues to pay for it. He saw himself untouchable seeing himself a god; something that is a common thing amongst Greek heros. He had everything he could ever want, and Jamato saw the corruption it did to him. So he destroyed everything, well nearly everything because he just couldn't let go of such power that easily.
When Spoke even thought that Mapicc had died he went nuclear. Fueled by grief his rage was like no other. Jamato wasn't trying to turn anyone against Spoke he was trying to stop him, because maybe if he couldn't get through maybe they could. Instead Spoke saw it was a betrayal of the greatest level. Like before with Capital City, he went nuclear and attempted to kill Jamato a status chamber being the only reason he failed. His rage all consuming as he attempts to protect the facade he puts on. He knows there are people that see through it and his ego allows him to believe that he can kill them as they come along and no one else will ever see it. They will though, time and time again people will see the same darkness within him.
I really hope this makes sense, it's 1:30 and Ive barely eaten and I've been baking for over 4hrs and I worked today (12hrs of kitchen time so far lol)
Fear.
It drives all of the protagonists.
It is their motivation for everything they do.
Parrot
Parrot is afraid of losing people. The fear that drives Parrot is the fear for others. Fear for their safety. Not his own. (Never his own... That's his fatal flaw. The one thing all his friends screamed at him about. You need to be more careful! You need to think of yourself sometimes!) He's so afraid of others, so afraid of losing others. That is his motivation for everything he does.
Wemmbu
Wemmbu is afraid of being perceived as weak. Afraid to go back to that time where he was weak. Where he was helpless. He's driven by his fear of going back to a time where he wasn't feared. He must be feared! Because if he's not feared then they'll just walk all over him. They'll tie him up. Stab him in the back. Squish him beneath their feet. He will always choose to be feared rather than to be loved. At least he has power if he's feared. That is his motivation for everything he does.
Flame
Flame is afraid to care. He is the opposite of Parrot. If he's afraid for other people that makes him weak. That leaves him open for attack. He's the opposite of Parrot and the mirror of Wemmbu. He's not afraid to be perceived as weak, because he never has been and never will. But he's terrified of caring. Terrified of needing to protect someone. Because he only knows how to protect himself. He's afraid to be perceived as weak for caring. He is the great and terrible Immortal Demon. And demons don't care for people So he shuts them out. Stabs them in the back. It's all he knows how to do. It's the only way he knows how to keep himself safe. He's afraid to care because it will only hold him back. There's nothing he can do with someone else's help that he can't do alone. That is his motivation for everything he does.
And finally...
Spoke
It took me a while to figure out what drove Spoke's character. But it finally clicked earlier today (you can go read the full breakdown on my page. Should be just under this one)
Spoke is terrified of what he sees inside himself. Terrified of what he could become. Jamato saw it in the early days. The terrible darkness inside him. So he left in an attempt to quell it. To ensure he did not teach Spoke something deadly. (And ended up only fanning the flame) Spoke is terrified of becoming the monster that deep down, he knows he is. So when Ash called him out on it, told him he'd become exactly the same as Ash, Spoke knew he was right. His fear of becoming something terrible drives every single decision he makes. Yet in an attempt to avoid becoming that person, he just seals his fate. He's so afraid of becoming a monster that his actions performed in fear only make him more into one.thats why Rose's death haunts him so much. Because it proved Ash and Jamato right. Because it proved that little voice in the back of his head right. Leo saw it in him. Zam saw it in him. Lettuce won't even send his own lawmen after him because that is a fate too cruel, even for criminals and nobodies. Spoke's fear is becoming a monster. And how everything he does only proves that he is one. That is his motivation for everything he does
Adding to this discussion bc I love the way this was put.
Parrot has a hero complex, there is no question and we see it get worse throughout the series. He only really had one person consistently save him and chase him time and time again to ensure his safety. Ultimately though that friendship was torn apart by that dynamic. His incessant need to keep everyone safe comes from not wanting people to go through what he did. Losing the person he cared for most. He has control when others depend on him more than he depends on him. He isn't a fighter, his wits are what got him as far as he did. He wants to be the savior because the last person that for him lost himself in doing so, and he refuses to let the cycle repeat.
Wemmbu had a reputation for being unpredictable and self serving at times, but we see that when he cares he does to levels unseen. Even as he was escaping prison he never pursued Lopez. With that we also see that the first person he did trust, the first person he allowed to fight alongside him betrayed him. A betrayal that was planned from the beginning their whole friendship was built on distrust. We see how Wemmbu went from being distrustful of Zam, to having near blind faith in him. Only to be broken down to nothing. He doesn't dare show vonribly or weakness because the last time he did he was broken down to nothing. He has to make a name for himself otherwise everyone was right about him.
Flame doesn't care or trust easily. The few he did left him in their own ways. It became easier to be alone. It was safer to not let anyone in. He found strength in being alone because the only one who measured up to him disappeared. Due to his past people will always be after him, he is a walking target. Those who hunt him may not have the skill he does but they have the numbers. Letting anyone in just means someone in danger. He's a mercenary who can never hang up his blade. He was alone for so long in doing so that became all he knew, all he could rely on. So he pushes everyone away because he can control himself, so that he doesn't have to worry about someone else in the violence that seems to follow him everywhere.
Spoke is similar to Wemmbu in this way. Both driven by the need to prove others judgements about them wrong. The difference is that Spoke saw what they all saw too. He is Icurus and he flies just under the sun, his wings not quite melting but they are far too close. What people see in him, what he sees in himself cannot come to fruition. In that fight against himself he is doing nothing but pushing himself right into what they said about him. He is the author of a story he is trying to change the ending of a finished story. He has to prove he cares about something other than himself because if they didn't everything they said about him was right.
(WIP) my interpretations of the uu quartet ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )
some extras
i'd like to think wemmbu looked more "extravagant" and had finer hair during the princezam arc cuz he genuinely saw zam as an ally & would want to look like hes closely associated with him (royal empire type stuff)
Hey spoke love the vid, dont usually like his stuff that much (literally just a style thing I still watch them), but yeah this was a work of art. Everyone's acting has gotten so much better as has the writing it's amazing to watch other story tellers develop. Just uh poor timing in terms of my own life. In other news y'all will be getting a second part to The Demon Trio with Egg processing everything
Projecting what's that?
taxduo taxduo taxduo This egg design came to me in a vision and I had to draw this
my favourite flavour of block guy is doomed
i'm rewatching wemmbu's entire uu pov and oh my god the empire arc is even more painful to watch rn.
going from trusting zam and thinking he's just helping his friend by making a colony for him to getting all of that taken away from him in a matter of minutes. even when things weren't making too much sense he still had hope that zam wasn't against him - that they were friends.
like, after the flame fight, hearing that zam came back he probably thought he'll be okay and was getting checked up on, but instead he was just humiliated and made to walk through the ruins of his empire to "showcase" it all for zam's sadistic enjoyment. being told he's so useless and pathetic that even killing him or banning him was pointless and then having to witness what's left of his already ruined home be completely destroyed. oh my sweet sweet wemmbu.
