I LOVE Sorato more than air, and I cannot understand how the writers thought it was a great idea to break up Sorato after Adventure and 02 spent all that time developing their relationship! Like WHAT??? And what bothers me most is that, like you said, they are obviously trying to push Takari and Koumi (which is fine!) over all other ships.... BUT they could have done that so much more easily if they had kept Sorato together and not focused on this ridiculous Taichi-Sora-Yamato triangle business (I adore the friendship between them but NOT the love-triangle. Ew). Adventure and 02 already developed Sorato, so the current writers wouldn’t need to do much more (just bits of wonderful Sorato-ness), and they could focus their efforts on the Takari/Koumi fanservice and the blossoming relationship between Taichi and Meiko. Boom, everyone is happy (except Taiora fans, and frankly I have little sympathy for them)! And, again like you said, keeping Sorato together is SO MUCH MORE in character for both of them. But because they aren’t together, both characters are having too many out-of-character experiences. Those moments are just uncomfortable. It’s bad writing. *shrugs*
Honestly, I think most of the bad writing centers around Sorato and everything that the ship affects - in particular Taichi and... the dynamics of the entire group, which is basically everything.
It physically hurts if I think too much about it, lol.
