Don’t scroll past this – This is important. If we don’t act now fandom life online as we know it could be history, well, the internet as we know it could be history. So if you live in the EU take action and save the internet!

This is about the copyright reform by the EU and it will change a lot of things for websites like AO3, but also for Tumblr and basically every website with user-generated content. There are two articles that are critical - Article 11 would impose a “link tax” and it would make running a website more expensive. Article 13 would force websites to have mandatory content-filtering requirements on websites in order to search user-generated content for potential copyright infringements. It would lead to content being automatically remove. That might lead to - No more gifs from your favorite TV show, no more fanart, no memes, no more links to an newspaper interview etc.. Sites like YouTube, Tumblr, etc. would probably block out a lot of content just to avoid being sued by publishing companies and entertainment companies.

The law is still debated and therefore we need to act now. The next key vote will be happening in the European Parliament’s JURI committee on 20th/21st of June. So people need to tell their politicians why this law and especially these two article would be a disaster for the freedom of expression online.

What to do? Here are a number of e-petitions and standardized emails you can send to show that you disagree.

in the yume100 collab yuuri falls into the onsen which is ~magical~, turns into katsudon and only a loved one’s kiss can break the curse. vitya to the rescue! yuuri can either react with “no don’t eat the katsudon it’s me” or “vitya eat me~ and let me be a part of you~” and vitya kisses the bowl, bites into the katsudon and ends up biting yuuri’s stomach bc the curse is broken. if you pick the “don’t eat me” option vitya is like “i should have eaten the katsudon yuuri, he’d be a part of me” and yuuri calls him “carnivorous eros” which can be understood as “sex fiend”

oh and later yuuri asks whether his katsudon or human self looks more delicious and vitya tells him “human, of course!”

and that’s the rough outline of the story of how yoi got a new canon kink

For those still wondering about the Chihoko part… 鯱鉾 “shachihoko” (or “shachi” 鯱) is a mythical creature in Japanese folklore that has the head of a tiger or lion and the body of a carp.

Because Yuuri was yelling the “sha” part of the name, and names ending with “ko” are common in Japanese feminine names, Victor mistook him for saying “Chihoko” and assumed it was a girl and Yuuri’s ex. It’s not surprising that a Russian man would not know what a shachihoko is, since it’s a cultural thing to Japan.

There are two shachihoko on top of Hasetsu Castle.

They’re a bit difficult to see, but they are up there!

In case you guys missed the posts explaining what that “Chihoko” in the drama actually is, this is a really nice, comprehensive one!

This also explains why Chihoko “shines” (because they’re traditionally gilded) and why Yuuri says she’s always sitting on the top of Hasetsu castle - because it’s a damn statue. xD

I’ve finally had a moment to sit down and reflect on the Chihoko drama and I figured I’d share some of my favorite lines with you guys. (If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s here.)

Let me go through them one by one, and I’ll add some “lost in translation” thoughts if there are any:

First of all, God bless Yuuri for calling out Yurio on yelling all morning and clearly succumbing to the side-effects of puberty. I just really appreciate that we got to hear Yuuri basically go “Chill, kid, don’t take your hormonal imbalance out on me.” lol. In Japanese, he literally said “Jeez, your puberty’s scary.” but the meaning is pretty much that Yurio’s puberty is hitting him hard and Yuuri wants none of it. Bless.

Then, there’s the spelled-out “KINK” part, which I’m really proud of (even if you kind of need to read it bottom to top). In Japanese, they spell out the word “hentai” which means “pervert” but I felt like “kink” was just funnier and it still keeps the meaning, especially if you think about all the kink-shaming people do nowadays. And the idea is similar - they’re shaming Yuuri for doing something perverted aka kinky. Pretty much the same thing, just condensed in less letters.

I really like the “It’s actually our liquor” line for some reason. I don’t know, Yuuri playing the tsukkomi/straight man is just really funny to me. I’m into that style of comedy.

I think “Go suck your momma’s tit” is probably my favorite line because it’s a ridiculously unnecessary way of saying “Y’all are literal babies”. Also, that’s a pretty much word-for-word translation. It’s not even “breast” - just outright tit. I feel like Chris wouldn’t have much experience in this area tho. Also the fact that it’s basically a “yo momma” joke makes it so much worse which makes it so much better.

I like “My cute little piglet” because Victor literally says MY. I don’t like the way he calls Yuuri a piglet, but I can forgive him because he’s drunk. But the fact that he says that Yuuri is his. Oh boy. I’m so here for this shit. (Can we now get that in the movie? Not the piglet part, just “My Yuuri” or something? Pretty please? *cough* or my husband *cough*)

In the next one, I like how Yurio acknowledges that Victor only shows his cute side to Yuuri. @livixbobbiex wrote a really nice meta about this here. It basically shows just how important Yuuri is to Victor because now he actually has a cute side, he’s actually happy now. Good stuff.

I’m not sure what’s with Georgi’s obsession with being taken to hell BUT that’s #relatable. Honestly, this entire drama made me really like Georgi lol.

All of Yurio’s names for his own ice show were brilliant, but Me vs The Era, FULLSTOP wins. Just. Just the fullstop. It’s the only title with the fullstop. I love it.

Oh, I also love the #VictorWentMissing. Like damn, Phichit, that’s something that doesn’t need to go public. xD Yuuri literally said in Japanese “And you can’t just tag it with #VictorWentMissing”. I translated it similarly, but also taking into consideration the fact that Phichit already posted the photo, so what he can and cannot do now is irrelevant. That’s my take on the line. xD

Ah, Georgi’s PSA. It’s good advice tbh, the Russian witch knows what’s good for you! Alcohol and high temperatures don’t go great together, especially if you could faint and drown. Not fun!

I have a few more lines that I like, lemme add them here.

This line is just so damn extra, but that’s literally what he says. But tbh SAME because I’m equally dramatic when I get the chance.

Ah, the dick jokes. I don’t know what possessed Ueno Kimiko when she was writing this (maybe that squid demon from Yuri on Festival?), but yeah, the dick jokes are not my invention, they’re in the drama itself. xD But hey, I may be an adult but I’ll always laugh at the word “penis”. Especially when it has nothing to do with the context. But Georgi thinking that something to do with penises was the cause of Yuuri’s and Victor’s fight is gold.

Guang Hong being absolutely savage in telling Emil that no one noticed that he was late to the party is my mood. I mean, poor Emil, I love the guy, but yeah, unless you were looking for him, you couldn’t even tell he wasn’t there. xD

I just really like the way Tosshi said this line. Like yeah, it’s literally a golden statue of a mythical tiger-fish thing, it’s pretty memorable lol. That’s what makes this so funny - that Victor is all worried that it’s some girl and Yuuri’s like “Oh yeah, I mean it’s a pretty unique statue so I wouldn’t forget it.” That gap is brilliant.

Yuuri literal says here “No way”, but somehow “How about no?” fits better because it comes with more personality imo. And again, Tosshi’s acting here is on point. (But who are we kidding, it’s always on point.)

Another one that I love because it’s like, yeah, you’re looking at two naked men on a rooftop, I think it’s better if you protect your 6-year-olds from being mentally scarred forever, no matter how much they love Victor and Yuuri as skaters lol.

Aaand that’s about that. I really liked this drama and I found it really funny. Wish they’d release the Yuri on Festival one too, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening. :c

Anyway, just wanted to throw these out there because this drama was tons of fun and I think it has many great moments! Do you guys have any favorites?

I’ve seen the incredible subbed version of the chihoko drama, and I saw someone uploaded a full version of Yuri on Stage, but is there a full version with subs? Because I desperately want to watch it, but I know 0 Japanese

There is no full version of the event with subs so far, and I’ve seen no efforts to translate it from anyone apart from myself. :x

So if anyone’s gonna sub it, it looks like it’ll be me.

I definitely won’t sub the entire thing because it’s over 2 hours long but I’ll do as much as I can. Which will, ideally, be most of it but that also depends on how busy I’ll be etc.

You can follow this playlist on YouTube and check on it every once in a while as it’ll be updated with new parts of the event as I sub them.

Though, and here’s an announcement: I’m gone the entire next week because I’m going to St. Petersburg so you may have to wait a bit for new parts to appear.
