Hello! Due to some personal circumstances, I am opening up my services for tarot reading and devotional writing. I am an experienced reader, and I have studied tarot for 10 years. My pricing will reflect this, although I offer reduced/sliding scale rates for BIPOC+ folks.

Tarot Services

-I do not accept questions pertaining to health or finances. I also do not accept deity identification questions.

-I am willing to help you work through particular messages you may have received from a deity or spirit. However, I am not a medium and should not be the only source you rely upon for such questions.

-All other questions, such as those pertaining to love, spirituality, personal growth, etc. are fair game.

-Please DM me prior to making a payment. For readings, you can expect to receive an online document with an in-depth explanation of the spread and each card in it, as well as any personal notes.

Short Reading (3 cards)- $7

This reading will examine the relationship between three cards as it pertains to your question.

General Reading (5 cards)- $12

I generally recommend a five card spread for questions pertaining to things like the month or week ahead, full/new moon readings, holidays, etc. It is when you want a bit more information than can be provided by the short reading, but does not necessarily require the depth of the Celtic Cross or Shadow Spread.

Persona Shadow Spread (7 cards)- $20

This reading takes a look at your shadow, and how its influences in your subconscious realm affects your conscious reality. This reading also provides advice for how to "defeat" (i.e merge) with the shadow self, in line with the theme of Persona.

Celtic Cross (10 cards)- $25

This is a good reading for when you want to get into the meat of an issue. I also recommend it if you would like a more in-depth examination of your question, particularly if you don't have something specific in mind.

Intuitive Pull- $25

I select a random number of cards to answer your question. I often average between 7-12 cards for this type of reading, although the exact number can vary. I prefer this spread for creating a more personalized reading to the querent.

Context is important in the study and practice of witchcraft. Removing a word, a practice, a charm, a belief, etc. from its context changes it. Being able to understand that thing within its original context unlocks levels to it that cannot be accessed without that information.

Understanding and analyzing the context of a practice isn't just relevant to closed or culturally specific practices. It is just as important to understand contextual things like an author's background, the time period a book was written in, the publishing standards of a specific time, the platform a working was originally published on, etc.

Contextual comprehension is relevant to folk magic, ceremonial magic, Wicca, chaos magic, all movements of paganism, and so on and so forth. Everything has meaning and implication that goes beyond the words written in a book or on a blog.

judaism is semi-closed. practices related to judaism require a barrier for entry. judaism is an indigenous religion and reserve the right to protect their cultural practices.

lilith is not open. kabbalah is not open. jewish mystism is not open.

there are ways to learn about these things and get involved in a community that do not involve stealing from indigenous cultures. in fact, you are less of a witch if your craft is stealing from closed and marginalized communities.

In Greek Mythology, Niobe was a queen of Thebes and mother to anywhere between 12-14 children (sources vary). She boasted that she was superior in motherhood to the goddess Leto, who only had two children... The Olympians Artemis and Apollo. 

The divine twins could not abide by such insult to their mother and struck down the children of Niobe one by one from on high with their arrows. 

Niobe is depicted in the Archaic style in the border of the illustration, across from Leto, mourning the loss of her children as they are felled by the arrows of Artemis and Apollo.

There was no universal Scandinavian religion, or Slavic, or Celtic.

They were multiple mini cultures with changing and differing views.

That’s why we have different beliefs on who was the ‘High God’ in the Norse myths and physical evidence that we have left. Tyr, Freyr, Odin; have all been the High God in different cultures. Because people didn’t collect under orthodox and shared religion in a pre Christian world the way they do now.

You can now make a more collective religion, but saying there was always one, is a mistake at best and pseudo history at worst.

Still reading American Brujeria and I just finished the chapter on La Muerte and I feel like every white witch who wants to work with Santa Muerte should read this:

I particularly like the line "many people are flocking to her who don't necessarily need her" (especially since there are so many other saints and spirits who do the same jobs.)

There's also this paragraph:

I would also like to add that many Indigenous Mexican Santa Muertistas have been repeatedly saying for years now that Santa Muerte is closed

You cannot work with Santa Muerte or claim the title of Santa Muertista if you have not been initiated into El Culto. It is virtually impossible to be initiated into El Culto outside of Mexico

Now yes, I have been told by some Indigenous Mexican Santa Muertistas that veneration of Santa Muerte is open, but even they have stated that there is really no reason for white people to do so And in all honesty, there are so many female spirits and deities from open practices that are associated with magic and death. There really is no reason for average white witch to work with or even venerate Santa Muerte

I took one peek at my inbox today, and, yes, it's very much filled with antisemites right now (it's, unfortunately, to be expected when one is Jewish in witchcraft community, especially when that community is growing). This being said, if you've sent a witchcraft, personal, or otherwise not antisemitic ask in the last couple of days and I haven't gotten to it, it's just because I haven't had the time to sift through and delete/block all the gross stuff or find and reply to the rest. If it's important or time sensitive, please feel free to DM me, as the antisemites don't seem interested in exposing their usernames via DM lol, so it's not really impacted my messages yet.

Also, can I just add, this is very much another reason why the conversation of closed practices and respecting them is still needed. The majority of the antisemitism in my inbox right now is fueled by non-Jewish people being "upset" they don't get to dictate and decide what is appreciation vs appropriation of Judaism, people spewing blatantly and factually bullshit rhetoric about origins of practices, figures, texts, symbols, etc., and people demanding validation for their theft from a person of the culture and religion they're stealing from. I have so much more I want to say on that topic, not only as a Jewish witch but as a mixed race (black and white) witch from the Southern US who grew up surrounded by various Southern folk magical traditions, but I do not currently have the energy nor the emotional bandwidth to deal with the likely outcome. Just know that I do have a lot to add to that conversation, but I need some time to gather the energy to do so. I hope that makes sense.

I also hope that the community we're building here can remain as positive, peaceful, and beautiful as when it was first started. I genuinely want that so much, because witches of color, Jewish witches, witches keeping closed traditions deserve to feel safe, protected, and wanted in community, and certainly deserve to exist in community without having to worry about their peers being racist, being antisemitic, enacting appropriation, or using colonialist rhetoric and thinking. If you truly want this community to be something better than the toxic, harmful community so many have expressed fear of and disdain for, then we have to actively keep it from becoming that. You cannot expect love in community if you do not put love into it. You cannot expect respect if you do not give respect. You cannot expect a healthy, welcoming environment to appear out of nowhere. It's on all of us to make this community what we need and want it to be.
