The last time I was on here (2 years ago?) I was going through severe and unrelenting depression.

I’ve since gone through pretty intense treatment as well as treatment for other health issues I have and I’m doing way better.

I mostly disappeared online (except for using tiktok) and haven’t really connected with friends (besides one) while going on this health journey. I guess really it’s more that I’ve isolated myself. I was tired of being a dark cloud that brought others down, the self deprecation, the miserableness. I was hurting and in pain and there wasn’t really much anything my friends or family could do to help so I withdrew.

But now as I’m doing better, I want to reach out and reconnect but it’s literally been like two years. I didn’t even say I was gonna focus on myself, I just stopped using social media altogether. Initially, I thought it was for the best, but looking back it was such a bitch move to just disappear. I physically live far away from friends and family and sort of used that as something to fall back on, like, it’s not like I can even see them in person if I wanted to. But also I really should’ve said something.

I guess it feels like, who am I to just pop back into anyone’s lives? I wouldn’t want to act like nothing happened. But I think it would make me selfish to try to explain why I ghosted my friends and expect them to forgive me. Not many have reached out over the past 2 years either so it’s like, maybe they’re just fine with things being like this.
