He’s lost something, Eddie can tell and Eddie wishes he could tell him that he’s lost something too. --- Eddie ends up in The Empty after he dies, and meets Castiel.

It’s kinda nice, all things considered. Every once in a while, Eddie remembers that they are here because an entire town thinks that he is a devil-worshipping murderer ,and that Steve put his entire life on hold to be with him, oh, and can’t forget that the whole reason he was accused in the first place is monsters are real and there’s at least one shadow dimension that tried to take over their world. He misses his uncle sometimes. He misses the kids. But all things considered, he’s doing okay. Especially with Steve by his side. --- Steve and Eddie hide out in Chicago while the Hawkins crew clears Eddie's name. Feelings ensue.

I accidentally had a drink with caffeine too late in the day and I’ve decided I need to write a 9-1-1/The Vampire Lestat crossover.

Also sleepy/awake delirious enough to post this lil preview.

“Are the teeth too much?” Buck asks, his words obscured by the plastic fangs in his mouth.

“I don’t know that there is such a thing as too much for a vampire rock concert,” Eddie says, checking the mirror to ensure his plain, black t-shirt sends a clear “just here with my friend” message.

Buck shrugs and pops the fangs out of his mouth. “They’re a little small anyway. I think the lipstick works anyway.” He shares the mirror with Eddie, brushing his shoulder so they both fit, and adds another small drip of dollar store red lipstick from the corner of his mouth. “Are you sure you don’t want some?”

Eddie shakes his head vigorously. “No, no, I want it to be clear I’m a plus one.”

Buck rolls his eyes. “So you’re playing the victim? Well maybe…” He pops the teeth back in and adopts a vaguely Transylvanian accent. “I should suck your blood!” He bares his fangs and gets dangerously close to Eddie’s neck. Eddie swats him away, ignoring the way his stomach drops a little at the loss of closeness.

“Isn’t this dude French anyway? Or playing a French guy?” Buck has explained his theories about why this guy is definitely, 100%, for sure a real vampire, but Eddie still can’t bring himself to buy it.

“There was definitely, 100%, for sure a real French nobleman named Lestat de Lioncourt. And if you look at the paintings from then and then in the early 1900s, they’re dead ringers. Even photographs once that was in the picture - it’s the same guy.”

Eddie’s mind supplies a swath of reasonable explanations: deepfakes, plastic surgery, coincidence. But he decides to let Buck have his fun. Plus, he kinda likes that one Cabbage song.

You can tell the difference in Lestat’s intent based on who was telling the story.

In Claudia’s version of events, Lestat was being cruel by making her watch Charlie burn. Grabbing her with his hands and forcing her to gaze as his face melted. His face is serious as he tortures her with this lesson.

In Lestat’s memories, he was holding Claudia’s hand the entire time as she watched Charlie burn in front of her. His face is melancholic and tearful as he likely recalls Nicki being burned by Armand. He was enduring the pain with her in real time.

Claudia never knew any of this because she never looked back to see his face.
