man with excellent self restraint dismayed to realize that not wanting anything is more likely a depression symptom than a carefully honed skill that atones for other aspects of his character
is it a bad sign that "man" is the least accurate part of this post
is it a bad sign that large birds circle above me whenever i leave the house and they scream and scream and scream
bro doesnt even have the jennies (certain je ne sais quois)
ill be real the "poly people are uglyyy" thing just feels like cope? like theyre in a polycule. they have directly proven that multiple people find them hot enough to want to be in a relationship, often sexual, with. you have what? one single Monogamous Jessica, and you're terrified she'll leave you as soon as she sees a rooster with bigger tail feathers?
"I use they/them for everyone until told otherwise" no you fucking don't. You use it for people you have clocked as not cis
sounds silly but. one of the greatest things ever as someone with a trauma background is learning that things aren't inherently as bad or as scary as I thought. it IS possible to assemble Ikea furniture without arguments. is IS possible to discuss boundaries without having something thrown at me for speaking out of turn. it IS possible to spend hours on end sharing your favourite things with your favourite people, and not get called annoying for it. the world is an incredible place
It is possible to listen to someone's problem without it becoming your problem to fix. It is possible to have a difficult conversation without yelling or cursing. It is even possible to have arguments without bringing up the cruelest things you know about the person. It is possible to find people who give you credit for your merits instead of reducing you to your flaws. The world is indeed incredible.
Homes are expensive because of landlords hoarding them for profit, not because of regulations.
Time to bring back my favorite picture: The reason there have been so many food and consumer good recalls in the past few years. (If you got listeria from cold cuts? Direct result of Trump's actions!) Regulations exist to protect consumers from profit-hungry corporations.
Remember, there is no "lesson learned" from those regulations. They aren't safety procedures where now that people know putting lead in cinnamon is a bad thing that they won't do it even if you take the regulation away. The regulations were created because, when given a chance, these people leapt at the chance to destroy housing, poison food, and blight the planet.
Everytime a regulation like that is removed you should be concerned about who was being "held back" by a law preventing them from selling disease riddled meat.
A salient example, since lead got brought up specificallyâ
A while ago it occurred to me to wonder how long weâve known lead is poisonous, since it was so ubiquitous in paint and construction and so many other places until just a few decades ago, so I went on a wiki dive to see when the first alarm bells were sounded about the health hazards of lead.
Want to guess?
Ancient Rome.
People have known lead is poisonous since at least Ancient Rome.
It didnât stop people using it.
Your safety regulations are written in blood, not by accident, not because people didnât know there were dangers, but because without them, blood is cheap.
Jimmy literally
#theyâre not technicalities!#theyâre the law!#cops say itâs a technicality because they didnât do their due diligence#if a cop finds evidence in a place he shouldnât have had access to without a warrant#and the case or that evidence gets tossed because of it#the cop and media will say itâs a technicality#but itâs not!#itâs a constitutional right they failed to adhere to!#and the penalty is that evidence which was found illegally canât be usedÂ
As usual, @socialjust-ish leaves the gold in the tags and itâs up to me to mine them.
The oldest living tree ever found was a pine named âPrometheus.â It had been alive since before the Egyptian pyramids were built. Some guy cut it down in 1964. Source
he was actually a forestry graduate student who was doing research on bristlecone pines (Pinus langaevea) and got his increment borer stuck in the tree. this tool costs almost $800, so he asked the forest service if he could cut down the tree to recover the tool. after cutting it down, it became apparent that the tree was actually the oldest living organism. ever. (around 8,000 years old). so, not just some asshole. the guy feels extremely guilty and has even broken down in tears during an interview about the accident
OH MY GOD SO LET ME TELL YOU A STORY
So after the grad student cut down the tree and discovered it was the oldest tree in the world he quit studying forestry and went to study salt flats (canât cut down the oldest trees in the world on salt flats no siree none of that happening) and he was being interviewed about his research, but in the middle of the interview the reporter just stops and says âwait arenât the guy thatâŠâ
And he just takes off running. Literally. Turns around and runs across the salt flats away from the interview and I feel so bad for him but I canât help but start crying Iâm laughing so hard about it imagine a guy high tailing it across salt flats away from a dude with a recorder
its so different to know it was an accident and that NO ONE was aware until after. its not like this was one ignorant guy cutting down a fucking relic.
Your furry "Doctor Yiff" posts helped me lose my virginity and I don't know how to feel about that...
Thank you?? I guess??? What's the protocol for this??
What the FUCK are you talking about DUDE
It couldn't have happened twice... It just couldn't...
Indie horror games are either like "You're on a submarine because you were sent to explore a mysterious pit in the ocean floor and you slowly realize you weren't meant to resurface" or "Mr. Scrubkus is gonna get you!!!!! Don't let him get you!!!!" And Mr. Scrubkus is the one everyone talks about
Also Mr. Scrubkus has an unreasonable amount of fanart porn.
Well, it is a bit hard to sexualize the merciless concepts of the creeping knowledge of betrayal and the expendability of workers in a capitalist society
Thatâs quitter talk, son.
The first rule of D/s is that people will sexualize any power dynamic. Capitalism is no exception. (There are no exceptions)
