I LEARNED A THING
DIY Doily Invites & Envelope Liners
I love the fluttery-lacy look of paper doilies. Inexpensive, easy to find & just plain pretty, paper doilies are quite possibly the most versatile paper product you can use in a DIY Wedding. Make your own paper cones, cupcake wrappers, seating charts, garlands and… of course… invitations & cards!
This is an incredibly easy Do-It-Yourself project and cheap, I got my doily from the grocery store in a set of 10 for like $1.29. I’m going to walk you through all 3 projects, so get ready! Supplies: (for all three projects) 2 Circular Doily (mine are 12" in diameter) A2 cards & envelopes knife w/ sharp blade ruler cutting board tacky glue 1 sheet printer paper Instructions: First up, we’re going to make a cutout doily card which is the one with the red card above. Step 1: You need to poke out the shapes of the doily that did not get fully separated when it was machine cut. This can be easily done by holding down the shape with your knife and gently pulling the rest of the doily away. Do this on a cutting board as you may have to actually do a little cutting.
Step 2: Turn the doily over so that the underside is facing up and place your card in the middle of the doily.
Step 3: Using your ruler with the card as your guide, mark with a pencil where you want to cut. Cut along your guides, you could even use scissors if you like. Save the scraps for the next project.
Step 4: Now, fold the sides over the card so that you can see where you want to cut off the design. Usually the doily design will help you make this decision. Go ahead and cut with your knife to reveal the design you want. Make sure to leave yourself enough room for a loving note.
Step 5: Starting with the back, glue the doily to the card. Now, it will be nearly impossible to glue every piece down, but you really just need to concentrate on the edges and the middle. Glue the doily and then lay the card inside of it. Flip over so that the doily is on top of the card and take your printer paper and lay it on top. Rub your fingers over the card & doily & paper to make sure that the doily is adhered to the card. This will ensure that you don’t get glue all over yourself. Then glue the sides to the front of the card and rub to secure using the printer paper. Let the card dry & you’re done!> (you can press these between books while they dry if you like)
Next up, we’re going to make this white on ivory card made with the scraps of the last card.
Step 1: Take the scrap from the last card and make sure all the holes are poked out.
Step 2: Center your card in the doily scrap
Step 3: Fold the sides up
Step 4: Glue the doily to the card just like the last one. And there you go! I used an ivory card with the white doily on this one because I love the way the 2 colors look together and I think this ones looks like lace.
Lastly, I’m going to show you how easy it is to line an envelope with a doily.
. Step 1: Poke out all the holes in a full doily and lay it over the envelope with the center of the doily positioned just under the adhesive of the tip of the envelope with the wrong side up.
Step 2: Using your ruler and a pencil, mark where you will cut. If you are using the same size materials as I did, it will be easy since you only have to make the 2 cuts. The bottom will not need trimming. Go ahead and cut along your lines.
Step 3: Slide the cutout into the envelope to make sure it fits and fold it down along the crease of the envelope. Glue the doily inside the envelope. Put glue on the lower half first and slide inside the envelope and make sure it is secure. Then glue the top part and secure it using the printer paper.
I’ll totally admit that this last one is my favorite; I’m such a sucker for a good envelope liner!!!!
LEO IS HERE YAY
Please know that it’s my observation, it does not make all the people that way, there might be my mistakes my influences on people too that made them this way. So please don’t go fighting and hula hupa over it =D
Please don’t eat up the credits and do give feedback.
Leo -
Leo leo leo aaahhh one of my favourite I must say because the bestfriends I have that lasted till now are all leo. so I will try my best to be as unbiased as I could be. LOYAL is the word for leo besides all the good words I know. They are the most loyal and faithful friends or partners you could have. They will literally deal with your shitty personality no matter what, rationalize your wrong behaviour to cope up with you without ruining the relationship. They are stubborn, but if you care about them and even shout at them to make your point clear to save them form hurt, unlike other stars they wont hold grudge but will understand your point. Friends are like a family to them, because of that many people take extra advantage of them. They are even stronger than people think they are, they have a tendency to rule and rule real good. But they are not all hearts and flowers, actually sometimes one of the hardest people to deal with. They have a little bit of proudness and arrogance somewhere hidden inside them which comes on the surface once here and there. They like to hang around people who are strong like them, thus tends to ignore the weak, sensitive ones around, unless by some chance they get to know them and realize their mistake. They are boastful, and as I said earliar they seem arrogant and proud but sometimes really deep inside they are not, their expressions are difficult to understand, infact the whole of them are diffcult to understand. they love to socialize, sometimes to the extend that their friends around might be a little annoyed because of their socializing nature. They overthink alot, they make a problem out of nothing and it will annoy you. Sometimes when angry, they will say stuff that they didnt mean but it will push their relationships to edge and hard to bring back the normal peace among them. Therefore, leo should really work on their anger issues. Now the love part - As i mentioned in the start that loyal is the word for them, so yup if you are committed to a leo, just remember they are loyal( i am saying this on the basis of girls I know, never really knew a leo boy) They will flirt alot, one of the most playful signs but if they get serious, they are serious and dont messup your relationship with them. They are keepers. But if the relationship gets messy to the point it needs to be ended, they will end it with regret. it will be hard for them to get over it but not the end of the world and they will eventually get over it. The relatonship wont mess them up but make them mature, and if they get a chance to start a new one, they will make sure not to repeat their mistakes again with a few trust issues thats it.
so long story short - They are strong, loyal, a little bit proud and arrogant which most of the time can be justified. They survive most of the hard situations very well and make the best out of their lives. almost nothing can bring them down. They hate the unfaithful ones, the ones who leave their side in difficult situations. OOH and remember to compliment them once in a while, they like to be noticed and learn from them, they will teach you many lessons as they are strong willed, mauture and not broken easily.
PEARL BIRTHDAY CAKE :)
I always wanted to make this cake. Pearls are my weakness and this cake is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and so glad I made it for my sister’s birthday.
ROSETTE CAKE SMASH SESSION
Today, Security camera clips that make the news usually show bad things, but here, Coke decided to “look at the world a little differently” in this heartwarming viral video. People stealing kisses, harmless soldiers, music addicts, honest pickpockets and potato chip dealers. Love, Attacks of friendship, friendly gangs and kindness. Unexpected firemen, rebels with a cause and peaceful warriors. A lot of crazy people, and a few heroes.
I love this so much
Take note: this is how to properly disarm someone. Always go to the outside of the arm, not the inside.
ah yes I have been doing it wrong the whole time it seems cowering in fear was not the first step
In cinema, gloves are regularly used to represent hiding one’s true intentions. Characters often seen wearing gloves are normally hiding something
Frozen is a perfect example of this
Elsa obviously uses gloves to hide her powers and doesn’t show her true self until she discards them
BUT GUESS WHO ELSE WEARS GLOVES THE ENTIRE MOVIE
Well played Disney… well played
I’m onto you, you fucking rat.
