About me and this blog
Hello! I’m Sheena, I’m 36, and I’m a mother of two human babies and one fur baby, a wife, and a family medicine physician. Being a military wife and the pandemic have been hard on my career, and I’m doing the best (as we all are) to work with this new situation. I know just how lucky I am to have good healthcare, healthy children, a supportive husband, and a comfortable life. That being said, I still struggle sometimes. I have lived with anxiety and depression for a long time.
I created this blog to feel less alone during this isolating time. I’m also always looking for motivation and information! I’m a lifelong learner.
Healthy living is the best medicine. Those healthy habits do take time and energy, which can be in short supply depending on one’s lifestyle and mental health. For exercise, I like to do short runs, weight lifting, functional training, and yoga. As for food, I do my best to keep it clean with a focus on adequate protein, healthy fats, and plenty of fruits and vegetables. I’m not perfect. Sometimes, I don’t work out much, or fall into an emotional eating pattern. I don’t beat myself up. I readjust. I just keep going!
I am passionate about mental health, physical health, and kindness. I believe in science. For fun, I love to read, dabble in writing, and play video games.
