Old Mother Redcap's "Box of Terror" Curse

This curse is inspired by the old folk tradition of cursing and reversing spells with a mirrored box. However, instead of mirrors and glass, we are going to use aluminium foil. This curse is designed to rebound the negativity back to its source, causing torment, pain and further anguish. Items needed: - Box (a shoebox, wooden box or a traditional coffin shaped box can be used) - Aluminium foil - A human wax figure - String - Pins - Sharp rocks or broken glass - Images and items to cause torment Method:  With your chosen box, line the inside with aluminium foil. Make sure no spots are missed - you may want to use a little glue or tac to help it stick. Line the bottom of the box with your sharp rocks or broken glass.  You will need to obtain or create a wax human figure. These can often be purchased from occult shops. However, if you do not wish to buy one, you can get a coloured candle of your choice and melt it and form it into a shape of a human/your target.  You will “birth” and name you figure once ready. Simply breathe life into it and impose full control over the target.  When ready, place the figure inside the box, laying it directly onto the rocks or glass. Push pins all the way through the hand and feet into the bottom of the box so the figure is unable to move. You may wish to say something at this point expressing no more harm may come from the targets behaviour and all actions and negativity will be directed back at them. If applicable, place images and objects inside the box that will further cause torment. This can be as simple as writing their own words they have used to cause harm on pieces of paper and throwing them into the box. Leave the box undisturbed, and do not open it again until you wish to relinquish the curse and destroy the figure.

Materials:

1 condom

1 rusty nail (Substitute a thorn, if necessary.)

Salt

Black pepper

Black permanent marker

Unwrap the condom, place it in front of you, and write the target’s name on it. Then visualize the target wearing the condom, and using the nail or thorn, stab it repeatedly while saying:

I prick you where it hurts the most

In your pathetic little host,

Sprinkle it with salt, saying:

I salt the wounds so that they sting

Each time you try to use that thing.

Now, blacken the condom with pepper, saying:

And now, I set a penile fire

So when you’re hardened by desire,

It burns like hell without relief

Blood Rain Curse Jar [REVISED]

This is a revisions of last year’s spell, which can be read here.

What You’ll Need:

1 black candle

1 small or medium jar

1 taglock per target

a marker in black, white, or silver ink

rain/storm water

vinegar

red paper flakes, chili powder, or any other dried/powdered hot pepper you have on hand

clove

cumin

Tabasco or other liquid hot sauce

optional: a piece of paper

Note: Your taglock can be anything - a photograph of the target(s), a slip of paper with their name(s) on it, a piece of their hair, or something small that belongs to them. If you have multiple targets, I suggest trying to get a picture of them all together, making sure to cut out anyone you don’t intend to harm. If you write each target’s name down, use a different slip of paper for each target. When I performed this spell, I attached it to a sigil that I placed somewhere the targets spent a lot of time.

Warning: This spell makes noise depending on the mix of ingredients you have.

Performing the Spell:

Prepare your work space, making sure the candle is safely secured, and then turn out the lights. Light the candle and spend a moment staring at the flame. Meditate on the ways this person or people have harmed you, take some time to re-experience your feelings about their actions. Use this space to ensure that this curse is truly necessary and you’re committed to it.

Take your taglock(s) and with your marker:

for photographs: draw an eye around each face

for written names: draw an eye at the end of each name

for objects: draw an eye on the paper and wrap it around the taglock

for sigils: incorporate an eye into the sigil’s design

While you draw the eye say/think:

“May this eye see all that you have done. May it look into your very core and know your true self. May it understand your motives, may it know your intentions, may it ride your execution, may it fester in your actions. From the pool of suffering you cause may it grow knotted vines and terrible fates. May it trip you, may it stab you, may it choke and hinder you. May it bind you to yourself.”

Place the taglock in the jar and fill the jar with the ingredients in the order they’re listed above. Use as much or as little of each as you can spare, leaving a bit of room at the top of the jar.

Cap the jar and very carefully seal with the black wax. If you want to be the judge of when the curse ends, you can skip the following part and go directly to the end.

But if you’d like the curse to monitor itself, letting the curse decide if it should pull back or get stronger, then while you pour the wax say/think:

“May this eye see your sorrow, may it know your guilt, may it feel your regret, may it understand your understanding, may it ride through your change, may it whither in your growth. In the face of your rebirth may it shrink and die, may it dissolve with your spark of light. And should that spark flicker out, should you raise a hand again despite, may it rebound double fold and sink in deeper than before.”

State any other terms you’d like and then shake the jar a few times to make sure it’s mixed and the taglock is soaked.

Snuff the candle and place the jar somewhere convenient to you but still out of the way. Whenever you want, give the jar another shake to strengthen the curse.

Let talk about the waning moon phases and setting your intentions. 🌘

This is the best time to banish people, things, and bad habits from your life. As the “light” (visible) portion of the moon gets smaller and smaller, gradually disappearing, imagine these certain stressors in your life fading away as well. Spend an evening during a waning moon phase surrounded by protective crystals and incense. My personal favorite incense with protective properties is frankincense. As far as crystals are concerned, I tend to lean on black tourmaline, black obsidian, onyx, and tiger’s eye. I always throw an amethyst into all of my rituals (no matter the moon phase, intention, etc) as I personally resonate with this stone and like how it lends its hand to sharpening my intuition.

If you’re into candle magick, I suggest a black candle for your waning moon ritual or spell, as black is an excellent color for protection and banishing. I usually dress my black candles with charged moon water (for cleansing), lavender oil (for inner peace/calmness with letting go of the problematic entities in your life), as well as some cinnamon and curry and/or dill (for protection), and nutmeg (for luck and abundance moving forward). Prior to dressing your candle, carve your intention into the wax. This can be the name of the person or habit you wish to banish, but I’ve also had success with just carving “Leave me” into the wax and then focusing on who/what I wish to banish during the meditations, ritual, or spell.

Be sure to finish your ritual or spell before the candle burns out on its own. You will have much more success with your intentions if you blow out the candle yourself; imagine physically blowing that person or thing away from you and out of your life. 🕯✨

This is a long time practice in my family, my grandmother was a Curandera (healer) in Mexico. Lemons are thought of as trapping negative energy, and purifying the air/area. You can do this many ways, the lemon should be cut across diagonally and horizontally, as you slice the skin place your intentions for your lemon, to draw out negativity. Use 1-3 lemons, place them on your bed stand to absorb negative energies overnight from you and your dreams. If using them as protection: place your bowl of cut lemons under your bed. 🌟Tips for interpreting Tarot🌟

1. The most important clues may be in the background! 

In the Rider Waite Smith deck, many cards show a figure with a number of significant items behind his or her back. What happens behind one’s back is, for oneself, something unseen, shadowy, something to which one has no conscious access. This could point to the idea that the figure in the foreground is unaware of the nature or scope of their issues. You can’t grasp what you cannot see, and that can reveal a lot about the nature of the card’s meaning.

2. The color of the sky reveals a lot!

Again referencing the Rider Waite Smith deck, the color of the sky on a given card often leads to a simple but important clue for its interpretation.

3. Pay close attention to proportions!

In the image of the Four of Wands, the figures are depicted much smaller than is the case in other images; they fall short. Or perhaps they are of normal height and are painted so small in order to emphasize the comparatively huge size of the wands. This sort of thing can be found in many other cards. 

4. Court cards represent developed personalities or facets of oneself!

The Queen: impulsive, an initiator, an investigator (water type)

The King: thorough, intensive, consolidating (fire type)

The Knight: magnifying, expanding, a drawer of consequences (air type)

The Page: makes something tangible out of or with the element in question (earth type)

4. Pay attention to numbers!

Numerology can play a big role in your interpretations of the cards, especially in the Minor Arcana:

Ones (Aces): Something new with vast potential is indicated when you have many aces in your readings. They are pure energy without form - and it depends on you to shape it and bring the opportunities that they represent into fruition. Because they are raw, they are also unstable, and can very quickly overwhelm if not taking care.

Twos: Coming together in pairs is the theme of the twos, and all the complexities that this union represents. We leave the individuality of the ones, and the twos are a taste of union. 

Threes: Group dynamics rule the threes in the tarot, and they depict different outcomes that can occur when a group comes together - whether they are groups of individuals, or groups of ideas. Because it is also symbolically thought of as completion (the first polygon, the holy trinity, etc) it also indicates an initial completion of a first phase of some sort.

Fours: The fours usually indicate that some foundation has been created and is ready to grow and evolve. To grow and evolve is the key here, because though the foundation is created, there is some disappointment indicated sometimes because things may not have progressed entirely as hoped for - thus, the fours are also the universe’s way of pushing us to grow and move forward.

Fives: Change, fluctuations and conflict are represented by the fives. After the fours, the fives are amplifications of that same energy. When that energy explodes, the fives ask us to look within ourselves for a deeper reason of why to progress. To move forward and beyond these instabilities, we have to push forward.

Sixes: While the fives represent conflict, the sixes represent the movement away from that conflict into a solution, whether they are internal or external, whether that means reconciliation or letting go. They are the cards of overcoming suffering, light after the dark.

Sevens: When seeing many sevens in a reading it usually indicates that it is a time to step back and introspect. The sevens ask us to assess, and reevaluate whether the path that you are taking is what is best for you. Sometimes this is a lonely pursuit, but this period is needed to go forward with your authentic desires.

Eights: A completion of a second phase is indicated with the eights, and usually corresponds to some sort of achievement, whether in the worldly sense, or in an emotional sense. Growth either way is indicated here, and sometimes it can take place in a form where we least expected it.

Nines: Nearing completion is indicated by the nines, and this can take the form of entering a plateau of some sort. What looks like the finish line, may actually be just a transitory stage. While the feeling of completion is here, it is usually just a pause before the final part of the cycle comes.

Potion of soft, glowing hair

Ingredients

Apple cider vinegar

Rosemary

Horsetail (plant)

Lavender

Mint

One glass jar

It's best if you can pick all of the herbs fresh. I'm lucky enough to live in an area where just a short walk around my neighborhood provided me with all of the herbs I needed, fresh & wild.

Creation

Combine the herbs in a glass jar (I found this one at Dollar Tree) then fill the jar to the top with the apple cider vinegar. Let the potion sit in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. Keep refrigerated after each use.

Instructions

Once ready, take a large bowl (I recommend repurposing a plastic container or using something that won't shatter if you accidentally drop it because you'll be taking it in the shower with you. I'm a dumbass so I just use a glass bowl, but don't be like me)

Pour roughly 1 tsp for every 6 inches of hair that you have into the bowl. Fill the rest with shower water.

Wash your hair as usual.

Towel dry your hair (hack: hang a towel over the shower door or rod so you dont actually have to get out of the shower to do this. Just squeeze the excess water out of your hair)

Dip the ends of your hair into the potion and let sit for at least 30 seconds. Carefully pour the rest of the water over the top of your hair. Be careful not to get it in your eyes. It fucking hurts.

You can rinse your hair out with water, or leave it at that and you're finished!

Your hair will smell like vinegar while it's wet, but once dry the smell goes away :)

Candle reading made easy

Hey loves, I don’t want to make this post suuuper long so imagine me blowing a welcome kiss to all of you and let’s get started…

The generic practice of reading fire is called pyromancy. 

We can break a candle reading session down to 3 main parts:

Observation (flame watching)

Gathering & understanding (decoding fire’s messages)

Final question & Goodbye (ask if there’s anything else you should know before leaving, thank and salute fire/salamanders)

During the observation phase, watch for:

Length of the flame 1-2 min to know WHEN-the timing = PAST

Shape of the flame 2-3 min to know WHAT-the actual matter = PRESENT

Direction & behavior of the flame 3-4 min to know HOW-the true nature of it = hints at the FUTURE (see where the fire is pointing to know what type of matter it is; concentrate on the opposite direction telling you how to counteract to solve or banish whatever it might be; it also indicates what elemental energy is strongly supporting/protecting you in taking action as well as in related spellwork)

Presence/Absence of Smoke 2-3 min to understand the SOURCE of your awareness

Salamanders/fire will try to communicate with you as soon as you light the fire/candle so pay attention from the very beginning. Fire energy is impulsive, blunt, active, carefree and wild.  This type of divination detects negativity like WOW because it easily speaks the brutally honest truth regardless of how you feel or what’s happening. It brings up issues that we refuse to deal with. Again, it’s pure blunt energy. Because of its wild nature, fire will also charge us with optimism and explosive determination to overcome problems and bad news: typically after pyromancy we feel motivated and “ready to go”.
