Personal quests for side characters in video games are so fucking weird. Like imagine if in real life you just met someone and at some point you casually mentioned to them that you’re estranged from your father, so unprompted they took it upon themselves to travel to his house and by saying the correct sentence to him, they give him the equivalent of years of therapy and then they just present him to you like “hey I fixed your biggest trauma for you” and that’s how they befriend you. Or bang you. Or just get a really good sword.
