I'm not dead, by the way. As I stated, this is rather an archival blog for what I do unless I change my mind up. I'd love to continue working on my sims 2 to-do list but private life has been getting though for so long.
Nevertheless, I hope to get back on what I needed to finish as soon as I can.
I finished writing all the Russian text strings for Veronaville. I will soon port them over to the other neighborhoods (7 to go...). After having looked into pretty much everything, I can ensure the Russian translation has been added only at a later date, as the strings from the UC version of the neighborhood have it.
However, I can't deny that I have also looked into each character file, and it seems that townies and dead premades not intended to be playable all have a Russian translation already. Those that were meant to be playable such as Contessa, Olivia and Claudio had them missing. It's almost as if some sort of automatic process updated the language of every untouched character, while it didn't for everyone that was meant to be playable. I'm curious... I'll try looking more into it.
Hello, hello... I made a NINAH Discord server with some friends so people could have a space to talk about the game without associating with the groomers and bigots in the official server.
Plus, I'm not very active on Tumblr or Twitter these days and I need my fix. Please note that this server is intended for users 18 years of age or older (not explicit in nature, but I do not want children in it), and you will be asked to verify your age. I understand that it isn't everyone's cup of tea, it's not mine either, but I can't risk anything knowing what I know about the official server.

Hello! This is the third and last neighborhood of the BG Purist Hoods I'm going to release! Veronaville had many quirks I have not previously met in other neighborhoods that I had to study quite a lot to get right. It has been rather exhausting- but I have thankfully been helped by @lionwolficemagma, @cricket-sims and @f1shart, whom I give all my heart to. Thank you so, so much guys! This would've been so slow without your help. Lots of love.
General Overview
All ancestors are resurrectable and everyone is here: unless you pick the no townies version, you will have all the characters that come originally with the neighborhood.
No age has been modified (minus one exception), as I worked on memories more to make them line up with the Eaxis Canon better than before. All characters will have their default set of days remaining in their lifespan, unless you use a lifespan mod. I tried to be as purist as I could.
The Hood has never been initialized in-game and is compatible with any system (Windows, Linux, MacOS), game version or expansion pack (Legacy Collection as well). Scripted events work as well.
Reduced size on hard drive by deleting many useless things inside character files.
This took me so long to do, I might release a version with extras in another moment. Stay tuned, I might post updates on how it's going!

Hidden relationships have been rectified and removed.
Everyone has been re-linked and missing data has been restored thanks to the recreations by carrit on ModTheSims.
Fitness flags have been cleared where they made no sense.
Fixed fitness bar being mismatched. Now no deceased person will have it maxed out!
All empty personalities have been filled. I based myself on the convention used for townies.

Family Trees now respect the actual birth order of the Capp teens/Monty teens and Capp adults.
Olivia Monty's pregnancy has been fixed and the father linked is Claudio. She will give birth in around five Sim hours.
Patrizio and Isabella's pension has been changed to the one corresponding to level 10 Culinary Career, as they have been promoted nine times in total and reached that level. The career is also specified, instead of there being none.
Patrizio and Isabella now have how many days old they are restored.
Patrizio, Mercutio and Isabella have been given the right skills needed for their careers.
Bianca and Antonio's ages have been swapped, so now he has 23 days left and she has 18. I based myself on the Storytelling pictures. I pinky promise I changed ages only here, so every other member is still unreasonably young despite already having children. Why is left to player interpretation.
Many characters had extra faces inside their character file (record is Benedick with 38). I've removed the old, unused ones.
Broken and borked faces have been fixed, such as the ancestor ladies with sabertooth and Hal Capp. Thanks to Khaemwaset on ModTheSims.
Cordelia, Caliban and Consort no longer have that extra png that scarily pops up in SimPE instead of their current one.
Catalogue Description oddities have been fixed.
All memories that were missed were added and the ones in the wrong order were re-ordered.
Claudio Monty, Olivia Monty, Hero Monty, Caliban Capp, Cordelia Capp and Contessa Capp now have memories of their life.
Genetics have been fixed and restored where they were completely missing.
Family Bin Families now have the right amount of money.

Extras

A Note on Memories
The most tedious thing to do has been fixing all the memories given (or not) to playables. Everyone was missing almost everything and the few memories actually there were either in a very bad order or completely swapped with those of other characters. No remembering when other family members grew up, forgetting best friends, forgetting who's who...
The Summerdream Family was missing relationship flags and they had half of their memories swapped with each other (example: Oberon recalled becoming best friends with Puck, but that was actually Titania, and flags weren't even properly set despite all the requirements being there).
I have tried my best to be as neutral as possible, but some memory placement just had to be assumed as I had literally nothing to start from. I apologize and accept any suggestion on how to improve them.

Ok, I've finally found out which was the issue. The Russian translation was added only after patches, because for example the UC version of the neighborhood has it.
Sorry for the lengthy question, but is it normal that the Strangetown subhood Standard generates completely new townies instead of the townies that come with the hood (like Katelyn Goss, Abhijeet Cho, Trista Shaw etc)? I added it to my PV Main Hood, but when using a mod to teleport sims I could not find any of the original Strangetown townies and I realized a couple of townies that walked were newly generated despite me having a anti-townie regen mod. Hopefully not too much of a dumb question and this is just a normal thing with subhoods. 😅
Nothing wrong about the question, don't worry! Even if you have anti redundancy mods to stop certain categories from generating, they still will in case the game deems it fit for them to generate (the difference is that it will generate only the needed amount, so they do still help with preventing from overrunning with constant townie generation).
As for the teleporter, do you use Sim Blender? The issue of it not showing all sims in the hood available for teleport is pretty common and has happened to me as well. It just seems to hit a limit at some point, and it's been quite annoying during my tests, so I get where you're coming from. To ensure all townies that should come with the hood are there, you can open the neighborhood in SimPE and scroll through the neighborhood' Sim description (SDSC). Alternatively, for known townies such as Meredith Lillard, you can rely on premades that know them and try to check if they're still alive and well through them.
All in all, yes, it's normal that it's happening and no, it's not related to hoods in any way.
(At least this is the kind of problem I can identify from a quick analysis of what you told me)
Hi, I just wanted to report a bug I found in purist veronaville. It seems that Hermia and Juliette have different faces from their original version. It seems very minuscule in comparison but you can tell their eyes are different. I discovered this in the extra no townie subhood download. I don't know if its different in other downloads nor have I found any other sim looking different than these two
Thanks for reporting, I will update them once I'm done with the Russian translation and release them also as standalone so people can replace them without having to re-download the whole hood again!
Your neighborhoods are amazing. 🥰😍 If you don't mind I have a question (feedback/information kind of question) - did you include Viola MONTY in Veronaville (since you used carrit ancestors, dead Sims)?
No, because Viola isn't canon. She doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned, even if she much likely did at some point in development. Anything that has been scrapped as in REMOVED from the lore because the story was changed isn't integrated in the new Veronaville. My aim is to create a clean and purist version of what maxis ships.
I did however think about making an alt version with her and some others back..

I think it has to do with base neighborhoods NOT having storytelling pictures, so I fished them from the installation folder and messed things up.

Hello, there's no "desired" method to do so, anything works! Pick what is best for your storyline. I personally used the Grim Telephone (whatever it is called) to offer a high bid and get a perfect resurrection. Evil witches can also cast spells and have sims return as zombies etc... Nothing is going to alter the character in a harmful way :)
To the Sims 4 Community: Hi, I'm a sims 2 simblr. I know the future pack about Legacy and Dynasty is going to feature characters returning from sims 2, but there are many of us sims 2 players that do not like the redesign. We still think everyone should have their fun so we'd be very happy if you were to tag each character as #ts4 [character name] so we can safely block it out and not engage with something we don't like, all while you still have your fun.

Hello everyone! I'm back at it again with one of the neighborhoods that has been the most requested. After taking a look at Desiderata Valley myself, I can say that I can definitely understand its charm. Here's my crack at cleaning it, always keeping everything as close to the story as I can! I try my best to make my work new users-friendly.
General Features:
Everyone is here. All ancestors always included, you can pick whether you want or not townies.
Never initialized, so you will get what Eaxis brings to you.
No LTW has been modified, so you can still live each single sim's unique desire which doesn't follow the regular LTW convention.
One True Hobbies are the same as given in the STANDARD versions.
What the EXTRAS version will feature once released:
Premades with babyfaces.
Heterozygous genes if they're lacking.
Correct Astrological Signs.
Correct OTHs.
A reminder:
The Stealth Hood has ALL characters free of weird tangly relationships to NPCs without any loss. All hobby instructors are present and so are bin sims.
The "Broken Faces Made Genetic" contains sims with broken faces but with them now being their true faces rather than changing with lifestages. Optional if you don't like the fixed faces.

Changes
No more name mispellings here and there.
All family flags that made no sense have been fried.
All relationships that didn't fit the criteria for being such have been modified to be what they're actually supposed to be.
No more LTWS for toddlers.
Fixed broken faces.
Given permaplat (check the definition for permaplat) to Luis Aspir.
Given memories to Noriko Aspir.
Fixed junk memories and tokens that clogged up the memory manager.
Fixed memories irregularities, basing myself on storytelling pictures. There are far too many to mention them all: can range from a memory of a kiss to a wrong person, lack of memories in the first place or wrong order of them.
Many sims in DV seemed to have the memory of growing up into toddlers, which wasn't regular. They have been removed.
All sims that had wohoo now have a first wohoo memory to avoid having the game treating them as unexperienced. Every expansion contains said memory, so you're good to go.
Installation (Main Hood)
Extract the zip file and drag and drop the "F001" folder into your Neighborhoods folder. It should be inside C:\Users\[your username]\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods. If there's already a F001 in it, delete it. Do NOT allow file replacement, as stuff might get messy.
Installation (Subhood)
In order for the subhood to be used, you need to drop it at this location \The Sims 2 Open For Business\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate\. If you use the UC, it should be at Best of Business\EP3\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate. Due to a Eaxis overview, there's a big, fat button that makes it hard for you to see new subhoods added. This has been fixed by Mootilda, get it here.
Installation (Stealth Hood)
Go into the installation files in the aforementioned location. Backup the old neighborhoods.
Disc: EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Free Time\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
UC: Origin Games (optional)\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Free Time\TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate
I realized I never gave a proper update, but so far it's going smooth. I only need to give a last look at name misspellings, missing or badly ordered memories, fix broken faces and ensure genetics should be okay.
I am unsure if I should release immediately the basic ver and then work on the extras one, but that might be the case.
As the first template (main hood, all townies, no extras) is done, it will enter testing stage thanks to the help of some brave volounteers (which I still need to find ":), otherwise I'll do it myself)
