You can only reblog this on the 3st of January
the 3st huh?
The 3st is real.
“I think one of the worst and most clever tricks a psychological abuser can pull, is the one where they convince their victim that the act of defending themselves, the act of retaliation, is somehow abuse. It allows them to evade blame by gas-lighting the victim into believing that they themselves are actually the abuser, simply because they are refusing to be bullied.”

Hey, stop scrolling.
Everyone who is reading this: I’m so glad you’re alive. I’m so proud of you. You are loved. I’m here. Don’t give up, we’re almost there.
Pass it on.
I heard too many sounds at once and now I am a bitch
We're all one sensory overload away from becoming the strongest versions of ourselves
supervillain origin story: two conversations happened near me at the same time
"Just get up and get on with it"
YOU THINK I HAVEN'T TRIED THAT?-
ok not to be adhd on main but if you even JOKINGLY make fun of me for my interests thats it. i wont ever be able to trust you again because im positive youre constantly judging me and making fun of me behind my back. thats just the way it is!!
to all the people vaguing people in the tags: get better friends
it ABSOLUTELY is, adhd and autistic experiences overlap so so much and i have both so this post is solidarity
If I may add, as an ADHD person if you insult (even jokingly) something I enjoy, I will no longer enjoy that thing as much. Every time I watch that show you called cringe I remember that you did that. You said the writing was unfunny, so now I don’t laugh at the jokes as much, even alone, and I feel like I shouldn’t enjoy it anymore if it’s bad. (And then I also believe you think I’m unfunny and my sense of humor is just bad) So I have to rationalize “Ok I know this part is awkward but I like it a little sometimes” in my head to justify my enjoyment, and that just makes the whole experience less fun. I’ll never express strong interest in something around you again.
Sharing hyperfixations is a VULNERABLE act of trust, and if it goes badly, we just go right back to being ashamed of being happy.
To any suicidal followers I may have: This is a sign to not kill yourself. You are loved and the world is special because you are in it. Keep holding on.
Reblog this when it’s on your dash. You will save someone’s life.
having one of those executive function days where everything is too many steps
by which i mean, like, here's how my brain parses the steps in making coffee
good day:
make coffee
regular day:
put water in coffee maker
put coffee in coffee maker
turn on coffee maker
bad day:
take pot from coffee maker
turn on sink
fill up coffee pot
turn off sink
pour water into coffee maker
put coffee pot in coffee maker
open cupboard
get coffee filter from cupboard
get coffee beans from cupboard
put filter in coffee pot
measure coffee
pour coffee into filter
close coffee maker
turn coffee maker on
anyway this is a "14 steps to make coffee" kind of day
please please please do NOT give up on medicating your adhd because you have a bad experience during your first attempts. finding the right medication/dosage combo takes trial and error, but it can feel like a MIRACLE once you do.
Being medicated isn’t for everyone, but it is a powerful tool in our toolbox. and I am seeing way too many people giving up that option prematurely, because they are unware that:
there are different medication options. they do not all have the same side effects, and not all are amphetamines
dosage matters. if you are discontinuing bc of side effects, consider trying a lower dose first
some side effects will balance out after the first few weeks if you stick with it. you are looking for a longterm solution, so give it time.
a good doctor will be willing to work with you to find a regime that works
finding the right meds/dosage combo will take trial and error. and it will be worth it once you do.
Me who stopped taking meds years ago because it dulled my personality and it got worse: 👁👄👁
that’s a common reason people quit meds—it’s also a super common symptom of being on too high a dose. Your doctor should have lowered your dosage when you expressed concern. And if those symptoms didn’t balance out after more than a few weeks on the lowest dose, your physician should have talked with you about other medication options.
The right dose/medication shouldn’t “dull” you personality–that is a reaction to being overmedicated. the right combo should not alter your personality–at most they should make you happier and a bit more mellow due to less overwhelmed all the time. that’s it.
the point of adhd meds isn’t to choose between happiness and function–you get to have both.
Also idk hie but my dose was actually too low at one point and I would have a super violent not fun crash when my meds wore off. After we upped my dose it made the meds last longer and stopped me crash so hard! Meds aren’t for everyone but they should be heavily considered for making your own life easier. My brain is super loud until I take them! This makes my day easier for me!
i miss when i was like 10 and it would be the night before a big field trip or something and i couldnt go to sleep because i was so excited. i miss being so into a book that i would stay up past my bed time reading it. everything seems so bland or something idk. i’m only 19 and everything is so tiring. i miss wanting to be awake

"We're trying to build knowledge about the relationship of cannabis use and OCD because it's an area that is really understudied," said Dakota Mauzay, a doctoral student in Cuttler's lab and first author on the paper.
People with obsessive-compulsive disorder, or OCD, report that the severity of their symptoms was reduced by about half within four hours of smoking cannabis, according to a Washington State University study.
The researchers analyzed data inputted into the Strainprint app by people who self-identified as having OCD, a condition characterized by intrusive, persistent thoughts and repetitive behaviors such as compulsively checking if a door is locked. After smoking cannabis, users with OCD reported it reduced their compulsions by 60%, intrusions, or unwanted thoughts, by 49% and anxiety by 52%.
The study, recently published in the Journal of Affective Disorders, also found that higher doses and cannabis with higher concentrations of CBD, or cannabidiol, were associated with larger reductions in compulsions.
