The combo of “these poor men who can’t feed and clothe and otherwise fend for themselves” and also “sex crimes and human trafficking are on the rise because if women won’t be with them willingly they’ll just take them” is jarring. Not only did attitudes towards women create this mess, they’re perpetuating systems that exploit women to try on fix it. I have no sympathy for any of these people. They all made their bed, they can grow up and lie in it. Die lonely for all I care.

I’m reading a book about the overall decline of human violence and have since learned that violence and crime both increase when young men are unmarried. Men literally cannot find intrinsic motivation to be civilized. Something is wrong there.

Female fetuses and babies were killed by the thousands; girls have restricted access to education because they need to live more [sic] ‘protected lives’ since men can’t be fucking civilized; young women are preyed upon by both the older and younger generations of males; trafficking and prostitution are rampant and even affect the female populations in other countries. This article admits to and addresses all of these issues, but it’s still about how sad it is that the men feel lonely.

“The gender imbalance could prompt a “crisis of masculinity” as traditional roles are upended and males embrace socially regressive stances to prove their manhood” is almost immediately followed by “In rural areas, men who didn’t get married are really marginalized; even socializing in the village is difficult, […] These guys are depressed.” No, they’re not depressed. Misogyny isn’t a mental illness. Male entitlement isn’t a mental illness. Treating them as such is a recipe for normalizing male terrorism, not how we eradicate it.

Obviously, the article also fails to address how women in these countries frequently don’t have the option to remain single (because that would be oh-so-selfish of them). It’s a tragedy when “the men themselves are isolated, left out of major family decisions and subject to ridicule, with little in the way of support or mental health services” - but for both married and unmarried women, that’s just commonplace. That’s just cultural.

I can’t finish reading this piece of garbage because the second chapter is titled “to catch a wife, build a house” and if that’s not just plain charming I don’t know what is.

The craziest part is the article acts like girls just disappeared instead of being murdered in droves. If there are millions of excess men that means there are millions of murdered girls, before or after they were born.

This enrages me to no end. I once saw a video about this, the “tragedy” of unmarried men of China. Those men struggle so hard to have a wive to serve them. That’s regarded as the tragedy!!!! Not the SLAUGHTER of million of baby girls. Not the GENDERCIDE of THOUSANDS of years! Not the HOLOCAUST of females!

The worst part is that they will get away with it and women from poor countries will be deceived into marrying those men via traficcking!
