I'm sure my publisher has their reasons for choosing those sorts of names. I suppose otherwise I probably wouldn't have received your letter. Also, that sales tactic of 'buy the book for a complimentary miniature'... When my editor told me my books were incredibly popular among children, I was very confused, but now I understand.

After receiving your letter, I went out to buy some of the Asbestos series, including the unauthorized volumes, and I noticed that, whether genuine or not, the free item was always a miniature. Did you make the board and other items in your photo yourself? You're amazing, reading my books as seriously as you have. As for your questions...

Your first question about the color of Sami's Borea, that is, the aurora. While I've only seen and written about a green one, there are other colors such as red, violet, and blue. Your friend is right.

As for your second question, Sargonians really do use their tails for angling. According to them, there is even a species of sawtooth fin that has a special love for thin Archosauria tails, so only those blessed with such tails can catch them. You are right.

small statement maybe more for myself but probably extends to others. artists dont like when you compare their fanart or oc art to other characters, its disheartening. you have every right to do that out of artist-eye/ear-shot but artists read their tags, their replies etc and its baffling some people dont realize that! they see everything you reply or tag! i know most people dont think about it when they do it but its not something an artist who worked very hard on an original work of a character wants to hear, imo!!

I hope it's not annoying to reblog this but hard agree!

Over the years I've gotten a bit more inured to it because... people just do that a lot, but it is kind of a thoughtless thing to do.

Part of me understands the impulse and knows it's not malicious and that it's just a consequence of human brains being pattern recognizing machines: if something makes a familiar neuron fire we feel compelled to shout out the connection we just made. And that is so understandable and normal!

But when you're looking at and commenting upon someone's art in a space where you know they can hear you (so, the notes on their tumblr post) it is good form to engage with the art in front of you on its own merits, rather than attempting to turn it into content for your fandoms.

If the only way you can engage with it is by blurting out something else it reminds you of, even though you feel like you're just being excited and participatory, what you're telling the artist is that the art they made is not interesting enough for you to engage with it as it is and to think about what's in front of you; that it is only interesting to you insofar as it reminds you of something else you already like.

It tends to just feel like people refusing to turn off their Fandom Brains to engage with new/original art on its own terms, and instead they need to make it into fandom-adjacent content in order for them to be interested enough to reblog or talk about it.

I think it's only fair that If I have to keep being constantly subjected to new Executor events, art, story and skins, that they should be doing the same for the other operators that were introduced in the same event (ie. Flamebringer, Magallan, Vermeil) way back.

I'm sick of that guy almost as much as I'm sick of Silverash ngl. They keep pushing the least interesting character from that early game event and had to give him a cooler, evil distant cousin to make him more interesting. Like. Maybe bring back the other more interesting characters from that event... it probably would have been less work.... We still know so little about them.

If you're an Executor enjoyer, absolutely no shade to you, I'm happy you have been very well fed. I just don't understand why is he the only one that wasn't forced to basically fade out of existence by HG writing team from the event?

my other favorite pro tip: you can block people who send you anons only if you don't answer the ask. in your inbox, you can click the three little dots on the ask and block the sender from there (which also makes the message immediately disappear), though they won't show up in your blocked list to retain their anonymity. it's some kind of test of moral fortitude, like you can only banish this fool if you decline the chance to get the last word, but you can easily have your cake and eat it too by screenshotting the ask or copying the text or something first.

third pro tip: blocking here serves to make it so the person you block can't interact with you, it doesn't hide the person you blocked from your view, so if you want to do that then you should add their url to your filtered post content. not filtered tags, filtered post content.
