So there's gossip about some version of kinktober over on twitter adding a bunch of nonsensical rules this year, and I am fascinated. Studying this like a bug.
Like, what the hell.

Why bother at that point
The requirements for CNC kink on its own is fucking wild, like… it’s fucking kinktober, bruh
this is a good way to show the difference between people who have kinks vs kinksters involved with kink spaces
CNC is consenting, any kinkster in a kink space knows that since you're usually very quickly told about it when new to a kink space and all the ways to participate safely, different ways to consent, how to plan consent etc. It's just tedious to show / say because everyone already knows how it works and those who participate in it (should) know the precautions, safety and risks until its second nature.
people who have kinks but aren't in the scene need to make these explicit in fiction because they genuinely dont know it or they cannot phantom why you wouldn't depict it because they dont participate in those kinks irl and dont assume it happened off screen.
Nitpick: what about the doms aftercare? there's doms who participate in intense scenes that also need aftercare and reassurance that they did good, the sub did enjoy it, that they didnt hurt their sub to the point of it being less enjoyable etc I know that some people who do need reassurances while being a dom in a cnc scene because they overthink a lot afterwards and need something. it irritates me so much when aftercare focuses only on the sub (i am a sub btw) because its just so neglectful of doms. if they are willing to be so restrictive why is there no consideration of the dom for aftercare?
