Stephen is the roving indoor/outdoor cat of the Surprise. You never really know where he’s been and he comes back smelling weird or in mysterious disarray, but as long as he returns home to his kibble and purrs it’s gauche to look into it too deeply.

He’s also probably not great for native bird and small animal populations

Currently listening to the Cadfael audio books and I'm really enjoying the soft Welsh lilt that the narrator is giving Cadfael specifically. It's not very over the top but it's just enough that he sounds really distinct from the other characters. My special guy <3

i really have to applaud the actors in cadfael for finding increasingly dramatic ways to say "brother" with the most obvious visceral hatred and barely contained will to murder said brother with their bare hands

Slow train journeys in rural England sure are an experience. You're going ten miles and it takes a day and a half because it stops at every lamp-post and the announcement says "The next station stop is Ferretley" or something and you think "I didn't know that was a place" and you get there and it isn't

its probably because i imprinted on disney's robin hood as a child and because cromwell refers to himself as a dog and to henry as a lion that i became possessed by the idea of drawing anthropomorphic versions of them with cromwell as an irish wolfhound
