Young Jedi Knights: The TV Series That Almost Was In 1996, Lucasfilm was approached by Fox Kids about adapting Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta's Young Jedi Knights series to television as a cartoon. Fresh off broadcasting legendary hits like Batman: The Animated Series and Spiderman: The Animated Series, Fox Kids was eager to have Star Wars on its roster. However, Lucasfilm was focused on producing the special editions and the prequel trilogy, so they turned down the offer. Still, interest in 1996 was high for the Young Jedi Knights series. The series followed a new generation of characters, like Jaina and Jacen Solo, before the events of the New Jedi Order, and would likely have been a big hit with audiences. Kevin J. Anderson commented in May of that year: "At this time there are no plans to make a Young Jedi Knights TV series. In the past week I've received a dozen or so e-mails from people asking me about it. Nobody's ruling out the possibility, but Lucasfilm is concentrating all efforts on the new movies." I laugh every time I think about how openly hostile Yoohyun was toward SHJ in the beginning because of Yoojin and later when SHJ presents him with all the horrible stuff Yoojin’s gotten up to the week Yoohyun was away he immediately is like *picking Yoojin up by the scruff* “Can you watch this while I handle some stuff?”

Thinking about the whole "there is no platonic explanation for this" thing and how it doesn't account for intense platonic situationships and anyways I think we should start saying "there is no casual explanation for this" bc really what we're talking about is the way the characters in question are Obsessed with each other
