"memories of the forgotten boy."
them!!
my friend's discord server has a "proof of touch grass" channel where they post pics of them doing regular activities outdoors/in public. i think many online spaces could benefit from such a thing
when i was super depressed - like struggling to eat anything barely able to get out of bed to pee depressed - my good friend asked me every day to send her a picture of me holding a leaf and a picture of a meal i was eating and it helped me significantly
(also, she was never judgey - if my meal was a single potato chip she would simply say good job eating a potato chip today <3 )
which is to say, i agree proof of touch grass is a good idea for online spaces
This kinda required my brain a bit
did we do this one already
doodle qifrey
had to share this
In every way this is set up to be a joke like any other short video, it even uses the trope of main character in a wig to represent their mom, but it isn't funny at all. It's just sweet and nice
i hate that diet culture means all the tasty drinks everywhere are loaded with stevia now. this isn't even a stance about health, I just think it tastes so fucking bad
genuinely I'm so sick of people wanting all fiction to be ethical. can we all just get a little gross with it. the point of fiction is that it's not real. we can be unethical in fiction; same goes with being perverted with fiction, being unrealistic with fiction, and being grotesque with fiction. not all fiction has to be ethical, not every character has to be ethical, and that's okay. can we stop with the puritanism. be gross. be unrealistic. be whatever. if I don't like it it's not my business as long as we're all clear that its fictional.
via ered.bsky.social, the only kinds of unethical fiction:
people in the replies are going "what about books glorifying unethical things" and "what if it's propaganda" and you, my friends, are who this comic was made for
bloodstained hands
literally what was the reason for her putting him in this slutty ass shirt. like tell me these aren't basically the same thing.
SHIRAHAMA STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!!!!
i legitimately can't tell whether i'm just losing it at this point. the Qifrey one feels absolutely intentional though

New version
Thank you for all the love on this drawing!
I wanted to share a version that I modified according to some feedback I received about the type of brush and the way he’s brushing her hair.
As a black person myself, I drew this piece hoping that other black folks would relate to it so it’s very important to me that every detail is just right.
Thanks again! :)
big tshirt that says MY INTERPRETATIONS MUST HAVE A STRONG BASIS IN THE SOURCE MATERIAL on the front and THIS IS FUN TO ME on the back
So sorry to be unwell about young Qifrey again but I think the thing that gets me the most about the recent backstory chapters is that he actually was starting to heal. He was opening up, he was learning how to be happy, he was thinking about a future, he was letting himself hope. He wanted to have answers, then, not due to obsession with his past like pretty much everyone thought but because he needed to lay that past to rest so his happiness could be “just as genuine” as Olruggio’s, which means he had a terribly brief period as a child where he was genuinely optimistic.
Only for that all to get dashed. His happiness can never be fully genuine or he will die. And the friend who painstakingly melted away his fears and made him feel safe enough to express any semblance of his true feelings can’t know the truth. None of this would’ve been quite so devastating if he had always been subtly miserable. He wanted to be happy so badly. He was just learning how to be someone other than a someone in pain.
And young Qifrey would’ve had to re-learn how to shove every feeling and hope and dream he’d just let out back deep inside of himself, lock it there and throw away the key.
Another reason I wish I could just read the original in Japanese is so that I would immediately notice that when Qifrey took Coco in, he used the exact same phrasing (almost, different by one hiragana, "n" instead of "no") that Beldaruit used for him when he took him in.
i legitimately can't tell whether i'm just losing it at this point. the Qifrey one feels absolutely intentional though
