Hello dear! Idk if you remember me but I’m the person who asked you how do you not lose motivation cause I wanted to write a series, but I had no motivation ofc. Well…I FINALLY STARTED WRITING. I have 5 chapters posted, and 2 more in my drafts, and I’m not planning to stop. I wanted to thank you for your advice! Hello! I just want to ask you how do you have motivation to write these fics? Cause I really want to write a wattpad book abt lord of the rings *with a new character ofc* and I know exactly what I want to write and I have the perfect storyline but I just don’t have motivation. Plus england is not my first language and I’m scared I’m gonna mess something up. I just need some advice 😅. Btw I love your fics <3

thank you so much, and i'll start by saying that your english is really good, so don't worry about messing anything up!

i'm currently on a break myself as i had way too much work to do for college, but may come back to writing myself soon. the best advice i can give you is to keep yourself surrounded by the thing that you aim to write for (in this case lotr). rewatch the films if you have time, and read tolkien's works; if these are too time consuming, i would watch short clips on youtube just to jog your memory and remind you why you wanted to start writing in the first place.

remember that in essence you are doing this for yourself, so try not to put any sort of time pressure in place, otherwise you may begin to resent what you're writing!

It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end, because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened? 

But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something.

What are we holding on to, Sam?  That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.

My favorite ship dynamic is ‘Guy falls for the first person to call him an Idiot to his face’ and Eomer absolutely strikes me as that guy for some reason. I can just imagine him falling for the person who makes fun of him because he’s a Prince and Lord of the Mark so no one insults him and he’s just so floored. Maybe a little defensive at first but that’s only because he’s shocked, after that wears away he’s just got heart eyes for days.
