Jason Todd experiencing a series of universes in which Batman does kill the joker after his death and then just ...keeps...going. He kills the Joker a nd literally every other villain that comes he's way , he's not even picking up petty crime anymore he's mowing down scores of villains even the ones that seem redeemable.

No repeat offenders to the point where the justice league has to step in and and eventually after a good bit put him down like a rabid dog And it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME.

And the elation of seeing the Joker get what he deserves is dampened more and more and Jason keeps wondering were the others are and has to keep reminding himself that there are no others. No Tim, Damian, Cass, Duke, Stephanie, Helen,Terry no one. It took Bruce away from Grayson from his friends colleagues, Alfred and Jason wants to feel good and avenged and he does in some way seeing the devotion of it all but its just not right. None of it. its too much, too dark and sad and tragic. And maybe its ok if he alone remains dark and tragic in this

And he's getting ready to go back to his world. Just watching the last one play out and Bruce gets injured pretty good and runs into the tunnels because this is it he's dying its over. some Kevlar suit all ripped up its not even the batman costume anymore. He's breathing hard holding his bleeding side and just as he slides down the wall legs splayed out in front of him.

Jason steps out and Batman flinches like he'll get up but obviously he can't but he stops when he sees Jason's face. "Hey Dad" and he's not quite sure what he's doing or how this Bruce will react but he needed... "Jason" and its full of pain whispered because its the only volume Bruce can achieve right now. "Jason i should've protected you" and he keeps saying over and over grabbing weakly at jasons leg "I shouve protect you, Jason im so sorry" tears are streaming from bruise bruised bloody face and jason takes his hand " i know Dad" "I know" and he holds it til Bruce is goes quiet and still. And its enough

Things people hate hearing:

You want me to ~be compassionate~ here's the compassionate answer: your trauma will tell you you're a helpless child forever and you need to Not Think This Way for yourself (living under the assumption you're still in danger whether you actually are or not) and everyone else who has to tiptoe around your Sensitivity. That's how you break the cycle and you can only do this by accepting responsibility for your actions.
