Life At The Moment In 2020

I haven't been here on for a while but with everything that's been going on recently I feel like this is the right time to come back and say my peace.

These last few days, weeks and months have been so heavy on me and my spirit but most importantly on all of us.

I spend most of my days feeling so overwhelmed, almost on the brink of a breakdown and mental frenzy. Of course I'm doing simple things such as colouring and listening to music to help with the panic and stress I'm feeling, we're all feeling.

But it's not enough and that's why I'm here and reaching back to my roots, to you guys.

Now is and maybe the strangest and scariest time of our lives but I believe that if we stick together and show up for one another then we will get through this, together. We will come out of it, stronger, wiser and kinder.

P.S Happy Pride Month and Black Lives Matter 🏳️‍🌈✊🏾

HELLO 2020!

I just wanted to wish you all a lovely and happy new year. Thank you guys for everything in 2019. I know I've been promising new content for the longest time but life's just been sooo hectic. LIFE UPDATE : I'M BACK

I’m finally back from my holiday. The trip was absolutely amazing and has left me feeling all types of wonderful. I am somewhat tired and jetlagged not to mention I’m moving houses right now which is very stressful and exciting so expect in a week or so new content and fingers crossed the release of my long awaited follow up poetry book ‘raw’.

Update : Raw is now ready but will be available to buy in early October. I will announce the official release date asap. New content is on its way.

SIMPLYWOKE TURNS 2! That's right. Two years ago today, I signed up on Tumblr and created what would be and now is Simplywoke. Over these past 2 years ago,I've met some incredible people who continue to support me and the blog (love you loads x), been given opportunities to branch out and try new things, more so given the chance to share my voice and connect with those behind their screens. I never imagined I would still be here 2 years later let alone achieved what I have. I am so truly thankful. If you have me on instagram or just read my bio you would know that I love to write poetry and have just finished writing my 2nd poetry book 'raw'. I am going on a short holiday next week so will be away for a few weeks but not to worry, I will back and my late birthday to you will be my book 'raw', ready for release and buying. I just wanted to say finally that if any of you guys want to start something then please do it. This blog was a spur of the moment decision and though it can be challenging and frustrating at times, I still love it and am so proud of it. That's enough rambling from me. Happy birthday to the blog and cheers to all that's in store next.
