Behold my Undertale AU! Almatale! Currently working on a story and comic but in the meantime, concept art and world building notes.

Here is Frisk (femme non-binary in this au) and Sans dancing in Toriel’s hacienda (AKA the ruins).

Almatale is a story loosely based on 1800s to early 1900s Mexican and Californian history. I want this world to feel like a fantasy drama but instead of Europe dark age or renaissance feel, it has Mexican/ Mexican American roots.

First of few Almatale mini comics. This one staring Frisk and Sans when they’re teenagers.

Some character notes on my AU, Almatale.

I’ve been drawing some scenes that could potentially happen during the story. The first two show a surprise scene that I have in my head and I needed it to be put down on paper.

The rest are showing the first of many characters notes. Not quite character sheets yet, but I have some thoughts on characters that I need to quickly jot on paper.

Firstly, in this AU. Frisk, Sans, and Papyrus are pretty close in age and end up growing up together. Frisk and Sans meet first at 8 and 10. Paps meets Frisk a few years later. By the time the meat of the story comes up, Frisk will be 28, Paps is 29, and Sans is 30.

Toriel as usual, unofficially adopts Frisk and is a mentor in magic for all three. The skeleton brothers kinda view her as their tía.

Tensions between humans and monsters are steadily rising, partly due to humans losing their connection to magic and now are threatened by monsters who are made of magic.

If people are curious about Almatale, I welcome questions (It may even help with character and world building). So long as the questions are respectful and the people are kind.

*NOTE!!! There is no major shipping in this AU! Not outside whatever relationships that have been established in canon. I have no problem with shipping but a lot of shippers and shipping culture in general are pretty intense and scary. I don’t wanna get involved in it, and my story doesn’t have anything to do with romance. It’s a drama inspired by the Mexican Revolution. I think that I should let it be known now.*
