hi, I just want to know, what was tumblr like before all this shit happened? you know, back in the days of "what is air"? ((really love your blog by the way!!))

Honestly Tumblr was like an exclusive club, we would even make posts saying stuff like “If you’re from Tumblr the code world irl is shoelace” or something like that. It was actually really enjoyable to be around. My first blog was my personal one lol it was really depressing, you know black and white gifs and all of that jazz. I didn’t really converse with anyone but sometimes I would get anon messaging telling me how they were proud of me or something along those lines.

People did get anon hate still though, some girl named Olivia even committed suicide because of it( It was really sad, I’m glad I still remember her name. I don’t think anyone outisde of the depressing blogs knew about her though, I could be wrong). So don’t get me wrong, we did have our fair share of assholes but no one doxxed anyone.. No one made blogs dedicated to slandering someone.  No one was like openly racist or anything like that. We were literally against bully-ness and we were actually there for each other. Regardless if you were a popular blog or not. 

Now if you’re a popular blog you get a free pass to be a douche bag or you get justification to dox someone. Not to be a raging hipster or anything (I don’t want to steal your job Billy :) ) but tumblr was better off not being this popular, at least we actually gave a shit about each other.
