you can't be pro-capital and anarchist, those are diametrically opposed positions that cannot be reconciled

capital does not exist without private property and private property does not exist without the state violently enforcing its existence

anarchy is libertarian by nature but it's specifically *communistic* libertarianism by definition, which means none of the rugged individualist "every person for themselves" mentality is gonna fly. you're either onboard with collective agreements made by freely consenting individuals and mutual aid structures for the purpose of collective benefit, or you're just making another hierarchical power structure with extra steps

more than just attracting them, the state is designed specifically to screen out anyone who ISN'T going to play along.

the state's number one goal is to ensure its own continued survival and existence, and part of that process is ensuring that anyone elected is going to uphold that goal. you wouldn't want a hard radical candidate to get into an office where they could seriously fuck up the state's universal control and hegemony.

so you can only get into office if you're willing to submit to the ways and means of the ruling class, and willing to ensure that no one else is allowed anywhere near the office.

in much the same way, it's not that middle management attracts a certain kind of person, and therefore all managers end up acting the same. it's that ONLY people who will act like middle managers are ALLOWED to become middle managers. people who aren't shitheads will never get that promotion, because people further up in the hierarchy are intentionally never going to give it to them.

all cops are bastards because ONLY BASTARDS ARE ALLOWED TO BECOME COPS, and if you're a cop and you stop acting like a bastard, you aren't allowed to remain a cop for long.

the conclusion here is that ruling class solidarity means ensuring that only people who will have solidarity with the ruling class are allowed to BECOME ruling class, and anyone who doesn't play along is quickly disposed of or treated like an invader in their space. it's this level of exclusion based on material actions and consequences that defines the true nature of the ruling class apart from any of the stories they tell about themselves. always always always pay attention to what people actually do and not just what they claim about it.

It is NOT PUNK to lie to your friends and almost kill yourself because you have some delusions of grandeur, that is the most self-righteous, self-centered, selfish, careless thing imaginable.

Punk is giving enough of a fuck about your friends to want to stay alive. It's not just radical self sacrifice out of compassion, it's RADICAL SELF-COMPASSION in the face of a world that doesn't care if you and your friends live or die.

Just know that I'm going to be screaming internally every time I see someone try and call what just happened Punk. Ashton just chose becoming a legend over being a punk.

baby's first tumble (is that what posts are called here? idk)

okay hi yes hello, I am anna but I go by slowfox on the internet and I use they/them pronouns. my dear friend annemarie asked me to make a tumblr for her birthday, so I did, and now that it's waaaay later in the year, I am actually using it for the first time

idk how people actually use tumblr (i'm a twitter refugee), but I've had this idea to create some metafiction around a solo progressive rock/metal project I've had for the last few years called Skerries, and tumblr seems like the only remaining functional social platform to launch it on, so I am finally diving in and getting my hands dirty over here.

anyway, I'm a huge nerd, big fan of sci-fi/fantasy and heavy music, though I generally have broad tastes and I'm fascinated by many many things.
