Recently, I received a Nerkin Leg from the Wheel of Monotony.

(The description calls it a "thigh" when it's clearly a drumstick... oh well, drumsticks are just south of the thigh, anyways.)

This raised an obvious question: What's a Nerkin?

It doesn't appear to be an existing Petpet. The Nerkin Leg does resemble a chicken or turkey leg, so presumably it's some sort of avian or--given that it's Tyrannian food--possibly some sort of dinosaur/pterosaur-like creature; there are some pterosaur-like creatures in Tyrannia that don't quite match up with any known Petpet species.

On the Tyrannian maps, there are some pterosaur-like creatures flying overhead--note the short tails, which distinguish them from the Airax, a Petpet species with a pterosaur-like head and more avian feathery body features.
