Sam and Dean actually spent much times together in silence or quiet moments, speaking with quiet voice instead of trying to make it high-pitched or low as they did when other people around. Those moments are what they cherish the most, often after hunts, when their ears were ringing all days with comand and warning and screaming from bloody hunts to now, quiet questions like you shower? You ate? Your back hurts? It's refreshing to know that their voice, and the other person's voice can sound so much different, so much quiet and gentle and relaxing, safe, soothing their hurting eardrums with gentle frequency.

Often, Dean'd climb onto Sam's bed when the little brother was reading, for he can hear the occasional soft hums when Sam absentmindedly commenting on the story, lulling him to sleep. Often, Sam'd grab his book and sit on the chair out in the garage where Dean was fixing up Baby just so he can hear the soft hum of his big brother with his favorite car.

Life is good like that.
