I forgot how mnay fuckin pissbabies r on this app fuuuck all i wanted was some great pics of animals where i can enjoy them and like them off the radar and i keep getting bombarded with fucking betta activists from im assuming peta cuz theyre just as dumb. they are motherfuckin fine in small tanks. They COME FROM FUCKIN TIDEPOOLS. Which, yes means sometimes they have more water and sometimes they have less, but because of this their not super active and incredibly territprial. Yes im sure some would enjoy larger tanks and if thats the case, spoil yo boy but from personal experience, THEY DO NOT CARE BECAUSE THEY SPEND ALL THEIR TIME BEIN LAZY LIK SHITS. MY CURRENT GUY SERIOUSLY ONLY SWIMS AROUND WHEN I FEED EVERYBODY AND TO GET SOME AIR FROM THE SURFACE(or to change positions on the filter or his plants) like, yeah, dont fckin keep them in the lil cups that theyre sold in. Those r kinda awful and if their water wasnt changed so frequently, itd be even worse. And ontop of it i keep seeing ppl bring up those little 1/2GAL tanks w a seperator that most people ONLY USE WHEN MATING. A BOWL IS FINE FOR A BETTA, AGAIN, SO LONG AS THEY GET FREQUENT WATER CHANGES AND HAVE A PLACE TO HIDE N RELAX. UNLESS HES GOING INTO A COMMUNITY TANK, 1 GALLON IS MORE THAN BIG ENOUGH FOR A BETTA AND IF YOURE RISKIN A COMMUNITY TANK, MAKE ZURE THERES A TON OF PLANTS AND PLACES FOR THE BETTA TO HIDE OUT AND HAVE BE HIS OWN. With bettas, its not really suze of tank you need to think about so much as frequent maintenance. Got a 1 gallontank, do a (partial)water change weekly and make sure hes got enough space at the top to get some air. ALSO smaller tanks are sometimes best for bettas because they dont require a filter. Some bettas DO NOT LIKE FILTERS, ESPECIALLY STRONGER ONES FOR BIGGER TANKS BECAUSE THEY CATCH THEIR TAILS AND SUCK THEM IN. SOME LOVE FILTERS. I NOW KNOW OF 2 THAT LITERALLY SPEND ALL THEIR TIME EITHER LAYING IN PLANTS OR BY THE FILTER(and back on the bowl note, same goes to goldfish theyre fine in smaller than 10 gallon fish tanks. If you put it in something bigger than it is, it will grow to the size of the tank. Which is why when ppl release fair goldfish in lakes, we get massive goldfish monsters cuz they have unlimited space and lots of snacks to find(personally tho, id still reccomend large tanks for goldfish just cuz they are a lot more active and you can get em a friiieeend)) annd since im on it, if any of yall betta lovers have a mirror in your tank, he only needs the mirror for a little bit a day. He could get overly stressed with it being in there and its only supposed to be used to exercise. Personally im thinkin of upgrading my tank to a bigger one is cuz i think the inside of my current one is kinda reflective and i dont wanna stress him out too much with living surrounded by his reflection all the time. Oh, and if you are going to try sticking a male betta in a community tank, only fish with small and not very colorful fins(tetras, mollies, basic gold fish(NOT FANCY TAIL AND EVEN BASIC GOLD FISH ID BE WARY OF THE BETTA ATTACKING) should be in the same tank and IF YOU ARE GOING TO TRY IT, MAKE SURE HE HAS A COUPLE PLACES TO HIDE AWAY IN AND LOTS OF PLANTS TO RELAX IN. Not all bettas are ok w other fish, some are loners And prefer thier own tank entirely. You gotta read your fish and know him just like w dogs.(and yes, bettas CAN be put in community tanks just like you CAN have a male and female live together. Its big bright flashy tsils that trigger them. at the petstore im at now weve got a betta in a plant tank w some snail eatin goldfish adn my guy is i na community tank w 4 other fish. The other fish have always been mean to each other and when i introduced my new boy, all he had to do was flair his fin once that first day and they left him alone and he leaves them alone)
