Vamptober 2020 Planning

It’s about that time of year again, when I start building up my annual Vamptober prompt list! This is my fourth year doing an October daily drawing challenge, and I’m seeking some other vampire ponies to draw, or some mortal ponies who would like to be a Vampire For A Day!

This year I’m looking for at least seven batponies alongside the other volunteers. October 24-31 is International Bat Appreciation Week, and to reflect this I will be focusing only on bat pony vampires that week!

As in past years, REPLY TO or REBLOG THIS POST with a: DIGITAL FLAT COLOR REFSHEET or DIGITAL-COLORS-PROVIDED TRADITIONAL REFSHEET AND a Personality blurb (required for Vampire For A Day volunteers)

I also accept volunteers via Discord. I insist on digital colors being provided for traditional references. DO NOT make me guess what colors your OC is. The easier you make it for me to draw your horse, the more likely it’ll be drawn! Please include any social media name you want me to tag you with, so I can attribute your OC properly!

This is Darken Scary, he is a literal vampire bat pony with all the powers that may imply and the taste for blood which he usually keeps under control. He lives alone in the Scary Mansion out in the Scary Woods (a very old family name with lots of land) along with the ghost of his sister Spooky Scary. Understandably he’s a bit morose and depressed and doesn’t leave the house much.

It’s kinda sad how the majority of my time on Tumblr is spent cleaning out all the random unwanted posts from people I don’t even follow which is usually just shipping art I don’t care for.  As for the ads, I get that they are typically on the right side and a bit easier to ignore, but do we really need sponsored ads right dead-smack in the middle of our timeline?  Good lord, I’m starting to feel more comfortable with the Eclipse version of Deviant Art than this!

I might start becoming more and more inactive on this website from now on.  It’s not like I’ve done a good job of actually posting my art lately anyhow.

This is a high school in my area. This was the first day back. This picture, taken by a student, went viral (ha), and the superintendent was more or less forced to make a statement. It’s long and it’s a lot of bullshit but here’s the big stupid part.

“One area where we have received a good deal of feedback is mask use in our schools. Wearing a mask is a personal choice and there is no practical way to enforce a mandate to wear them. What we will do is continue to strongly encourage all students and staff to wear masks.”

If I have to explain to you the staggering level of bullshit in this statement, then you’ve never been an AFAB person in high school. Tank top? Sent home. Jeans too tight? Home. Collarbones showing? Home. Never mind the application of out-of-school suspension, which is its own kind of bullshit that we’re not here to discuss today. If you can send someone home for showing too much ankle you can send them home for not wearing a mask.

I’ve seen pushback against him on Twitter but they’ve already proven they don’t give a shit what we think, or care about the safety of the students OR staff. Only that things look like they’ve gone back to normal.

So it’d be a real shame if people from all over blew up their phones at 770-443-8000 or used faxzero.com to send 5 free faxes per day to 770-443-8089 making known their concerns about this anti-response to a massive public health risk. Make it a national issue and maybe shame our government into acting like they’ve got a single brain cell between them. It’d just be real upsetting. I’m just saying.
