I am currently applying for jobs, but the job market is actually trash rn and there's a high likelihood that none of them actually hire me, since I don't have any prior work experience and they want 40+ years of experience to organize shelves.

That being said, I'm highkey broke and need some sort of income, so I'll be opening commissions for art and tarot readings!

Art Commissions- starting at $10-15 for basic pieces, limited to cats (regular or pixel art! send pics of pets and I'll draw em :O ), hermit crabs, and I can do people but I may have to compromise on some things (such as clothes, extra limbs, pose, etc). I haven't decided on set prices for specific levels of drawing/work so DM me to negotiate lol (DM my art acct @soap-draws-silly-stuffs )

Tarot Readings- I am open to pretty much any spreads, be it one I know or not, and I have 5 different decks that you can choose which I use for your reading, so it's super personalized!!! I'll have a base fee of $5, and then instead of pricing by time, it's $1-2 per card (1 for basic reading and 2 for more insight, so the $2 is optional) with an optional extra $5 if you want pictures of all of my notes after! I would do it over text, tumblr dm, or instagram dm (can't do online calls), but I include sending pics of the cards and full spread in the base price :) ofc DM me for a reading or price estimate! some of my recent art projects!

been really into the pixel-cats-end art style lately :3

1 - a pce style fanart of Zane from Aphmau done for my sister, on a dare

2,3 - some pics of a costume I made on pce! it's been accepted and is on the market right now! if ur on pce, u can search 'LadyBuggy Costume' to find it and my acct! if ur not on pce, the next joining time is sometime in February!

4 - a lil (experimental) animation of my cat (Darcy!) in the pce style. I was really just testing out the tail and ✨ear flick✨ but yknow I had fun with it

5 - a pce style piece of my friend's cat! <3 I'm not good at torties yet but I'm still tryin!

I finished the first page of my new coloring book! It's a Very Detailed adult coloring book, I started it after christmas

(if any of the colors look off, it's probably the camera lol I tried so hard to find an angle without one side being lighter and this was the best I could do) (also if the color schemes seem weird it's bc I picked the colors randomly (within reason lol)

Idk who needs to hear it but if you have Aphantasia you can absolutely do character art. Don't let it discourage you. Especially since a good portion of art advice won't fit you and will leave you feeling like its your fault.

I have Aphantasia, its super hard to put characters in poses from my mind. I cannot draw cartoons or exaggeration well, its very hard because I do not see the drawing until it is on the page. I use so many construction lines and blocks of color and always need a reference to base my character poses on. I cannot imagine things artistically before they're on the page and it is super frustrating.

You can still do it with Aphantasia though, it just takes practice. So many of your sketches without references are going to look awful despite you knowing the proper proportions of the human body, it doesn't mean you don't know what you're doing.

It just means you need to give yourself extra help. You're not lesser or bad for not being able to draw on a whim or not having these intricate details. Trust me, I've struggled with thinking that.

The best thing you can do to work with it is collect so many references, use a pose software (like magic poser), and absolutely screenshot and collect art that has a creative element you struggle with. (For me its color, backgrounds, and splash text.) Also, maybe practice abstract art. You have a brain unhindered by a visual expectation, I recommend it. For me I like to do surrealist/abstract pictures of water and space. It takes technical skill but everyday is a good day to start practicing.

Having Aphantasia is a neutral thing. It's not bad or good, it's just there. That bad part is not acknowledging that you work differently so you need to adapt differently.

Each time I look at other people art process I am like "wow, they don't spend two hours drawing simple half-body sketch redrawing every detail for ten-twenty times because they just can imagine it". And when I was younger the only "advise" I've seen from other artists was "just try to imagine it!".

Anyway I very much recommend @adorkastock and @jookpubstock for anatomy/pose references.

hey. I know it's been a stressful day. I know he's said so many hateful things, and it's so overwhelming that you might be spiraling or doomscrolling. I want everyone on here to know that you are loved. you are loved soo so so so so much and it's probably gonna be rough for a while, but we're gonna make it work. everything is happening all at once, but you need to hear this right now.

put your phone down for 30 minutes. call or text someone you love, just to check in on them. if you see yourself spiraling, go look up fanart or memes of your most recent hyperfixation.

stay home if it's too much to go out, and go out if it's too much to stay home. recognize bad thoughts and tell them no, we can make it through this. take a nice, long, hot shower, or even treat yourself. have a bubble bath with those fancy bath salts you've been saving for who knows when.

eat something green or crunchy or whatever feeling makes your mouth happy. paint your nails all different colors, make them as pretty or ugly as you want. paint your toenails too, even though you wear socks over them all the time. you get to know a secret that no one else around you does, and that's exciting.

make yourself some hot chocolate, and sit down with something to read. it could be fanfiction, it could be a novel, an ebook, listen to a podcast. heck, grab you a children's book that you used to love and read it. no one cares, go ahead and read that frog and toad, or your Dr. Seuss, or your graphic novel.
