Some facts:
1) Black Americans created jazz. 2) Jewish Americans created comic books. 3) These things are said to be the only original American art forms.
Jewish Americans also founded the earliest movie production companies (warner bros, MGM, Columbia pictures) and theyâre the reason filmmaking became a legitimate industry/art form

One time a flight attendant offered me a bag of chips and I happily accepted. It wasnât until after I opened it that the flight attendant told me it cost money and I had to pay for it. And that would be the last time I would ever be fooled in the air.
You need.. you need to unmuteâŚ
Iâve waited too long to find this gem again!
Hillary Clinton used her âleftover campaign cashâ to make sure her campaign staff had health insurance through the end of the year even after their jobs ended, because thatâs who Hillary Clinton is.
we fucked up so bad
This is mesmerizing to watch.
actually physically painful to watch because you know months were spent masking all those frames for each of the kajillions of transitions in this

#NotMyPresident
The electoral college does not vote until December 19th. We have 40 days.
What does this mean?
Right now, the presidential election results are only a PROJECTION of the election outcome. They are PRELIMINARY RESULTS. A candidate still needs to earn 270 electoral votes to win. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, which means that more than 50% of the voters wanted her for president. The electoral college shouldnât guarantee an override of the publicâs opinionâ and it doesnât have to.
There are 21 states that do NOT restrict which candidate the electors vote for. Out of these 21, Hillary lost the following:
As you can see, these states are worth 166 electoral votes. As it currently stands, Hillary Clinton is projected to receive 232 votes. Trump is projected to win 306. This means that 37 votes need to be taken away from Trump to bring him down to 269. Hillary Clinton needs 38 votes ADDED to win 270. These electoral voters can also abstain, which means that they can refuse to vote for either candidate. If 37 of the voters within these states abstain then no candidate will have reached the required 270. In this case, the vote would be taken to the House.
Trump won Pennsylvania, a state that typically votes blue, by less than 100,000 votes. While it is highly unlikely to get all 20 electoral voters to cross party lines and vote democrat, it also isnât impossible to convince a few of them to be âfaithless electors.â We only need to convince 38 out of the 166. That is 23%. There are SIXTEEN states we need to focus our attention on.
A move like this would be unprecedented. However, as we all saw on November 8th, odds donât guarantee reality. Trump had a less than 20% winning, yet given the circumstances, enough people came together and made it happen. We can make this happen.Â
Ask yourself this: What do we have left to lose? We can stay complacent and accept that this country will be run by a racist, sexist, islamophobic, homophobic, ablest bigot, or we can at least try.Â
How?
SPREAD THE WORD. Trend #NotMyPresident to let people know that we do not accept being led by a man who does not care about our wellbeing. Email your professors, email the dean of your colleges. The last thing a university wants is negative press. Millenials can take a stand, but that doesnât mean we have to be the only ones. Church-led events helped bring a lot of disillusioned voters to the polls. Spread the word in any way possible, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or even in person. Stage a peaceful protest. Hand out flyers. Let the people around you know that you donât accept this man as your leader when he wonât even accept you as a citizen with your designated rights.
These 166 people need to face the consequences of electing this man.Â
Do this for the people who couldnât vote. Do this for the people who live in the very real fear of being deported. Do this for the people who will have to face the rise in hate crimes. Do this for the people who have a very real possibility of losing their rights. Do this for the people who will no longer afford necessities.Â
@sociallyawkwardsocialist Is this a viable opportunity?
In theory, it's possible. Only thing is, only 2 states allow electors to split individual electoral votes, one being Maine (which Hillary won), the other being Nebraska (which is a part of the "Red Wall" of conservative states). The only states I can see on the map that could potentially turn between now and then are Pennsylvania, Iowa, and (if really lucky) MAYBE Missouri and Louisiana, which would be just above 38. However, that is really stretching it, considering how white the electorate was this cycle, and also, I'm not a professional or a political scientist. But it's worth a shot!
on that day humanity received a grim reminder
âIâm just exploring all my optionsâ
You have no options. Voting for a third party candidate is effectively throwing your vote away. Itâs a BINARY CHOICE.Â
You are going to get us all killed. You are going to get us all killed.
You might not remember what happened last time, but I do. Leftists swore up and down an Al Gore Presidency would be âjust as badâ as a Bush Presidency. That was the EXACT phrase they used.
âAl Gore is a corpratist,â they said.
âI want to vote for something instead of against something,â they said.
Now, over a decade later, the entire GLOBE is still trying to correct what was done during the Bush administrationâglobal financial collapse, SCOTUS nominees, TWO endless wars, drone strikes, the Patriot Act, No Child Left Behind, Isis, DICK CHEYNEY.
Open your eyes and see how the tide is turning. For the past 10 years, thereâs been a steady rise of right-wing ideology and politics. Thereâs UKIP and the Brexit, France and their damn neo Nazi Marine Le Pen, whatever is happening in Brazil right now. Canada only just ousted a leader who muzzled scientists who spoke about climate change!
And now we have the possibility of Trump. Trump who, as of this moment, has a 38% chance of winning according to Five Thirty Eight. Not 38% of the vote. 38% chance of winning. Those arenât terrible odds. Theyâre better odds than rolling a specific number on a die, 16.68%.Â
Do you understand that we have a chance to flip the Supreme Court for the first time since the 60âs?Â
Remember all that Civil Rights shit from the 60âs? Do you know what happened to it, why it didnât usher in a new age of equality like MLKâs Dreamers hoped? The Burger Court happened to it. The Burger Court is the conservative-majority Supreme Court that came into power in the backlash following the 60â˛s. With that Court came a conservative jurisprudence that would last for generations. It was the Burger Court that stymied de-segregation efforts, and created âwhite flightâ by ruling that de-segregation orders couldnât be extended past district lines. It was the Burger Court that laid the groundwork for Citizens United, when they ruled that corporations could spend money in politics. Everyone was so shocked when SCOTUS ruled corporations are people and money=speech. Well, thank the Burger Court!
Now, for the first time in SEVERAL DECADES there is an opportunity to flip the Supreme Court. We havenât had a liberal jurisprudence since the 60â˛s. And look at whatâs coming down the pipeâanti trans laws like HB2, Affirmative Action, housing rights, repealing Citizen United, immigration, abortion, gun control, police brutality, climate change, etc.Â
I am begging you to vote Hillary. And tell others to vote Hillary. I wonât quibble over whether her policies are better than Trumpâs (they objectively are) or whether or not she is a better person than Trump (thatâsâŚmore subjective). The SCOTUS nominations should be reason enough. PLEASE donât make me live through a Trump administration. Please donât do this again.
Latina trans woman chiming in to add that I am doing my damnedest to get all of my documents updated before the election, because if that two-chambers russian roulette chance pops up I want to at least have everything in order. But even then, if Trump wins thereâs a very good chance that I will die. Three trans women have been murdered within twenty-five miles of my house in the past NINE MONTHS, and I live in a fairly liberal state. If Federal law turns against me, I lose what little protections I have, and my risk of death by murder skyrockets. And thatâs not even looking at healthcare! Currently I am only able to obtain HRT because in my state Medicaid is required to cover transgender health services. With a Republican Supreme Court and Congress, not only does that go out the window but so does Obamacare and the Medicaid expansion which is how I have health insurance in the first place. If you care even the slightest bit about my safety as a human being, you willÂ
GO OUT AND VOTE CLINTONÂ AND DEMOCRATIC ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BALLOTÂ
This is absolutely about survival, and a Trump presidency will in no uncertain terms be anathema to my continued existence. Please, I beg of you: help me stay alive.
Please let us LIVE.
For many people itâs literally a matter of life and death. Donât throw away your vote.Â
