The things you stumble upon when you decide to follow links at 5:30AM.  I never thought I would come across something like this from following one of those links.  This band is insane.  Covet is a three-piece band made up of drums, bass, and guitar but the music doesn’t lack anything in fullness or intensity.  They know how to jam.  Yvette Young is the guitar player who creates these beautiful soundscapes of scampering notes across the neck of her guitar, her hands in a flurry of motion for almost the entirety of this nearly 15 minute video.  It doesn’t lack anything in melody though.  Yvette’s unique style blends well with David on bass and Keith keeps the songs driving with his sporadic yet very intricate drum parts.  If you like bands like Chon, Animals as Leaders, or Scale the Summit I would recommend watching this video.  Covet are definitely in that genre of music and are a welcome addition in my eyes.  Their BandCamp page mentions an EP coming out soon which I am definitely excited for.  Check these guys out.  I’m certainly glad I did.
So, there is this band that I discovered this summer called Thank You Scientist and they are incredible.  Their first album came out almost exactly a year ago and I’m already hooked.  They blend so many different genres in their music that it is almost impossible to brand them to any certain one, although progressive metal and jazz fusion are similar enough.  The main factor in this bands unique sound is the variety of different instruments.  There is your standard band with two guitars, bass, drums, and a vocalist but in addition are a trumpet, saxophone, and violin.  And Thank You Scientist uses all these instruments in an amazing way.  The five piece rock band form a solid base for what would alone be some amazing progressive metal.  Put on top of that some solid horn and violin melodies, plus a hint of jazziness and even some world music and you have this band.  Although they only have one full album out, they also released an EP and they are both available on Spotify.  If you like progressive metal or even just metal and jazz I would highly recommend listening to this band.  For some the vocals might be a little too much, but for me it just gives them a Coheed like quality.  This video isn’t the best quality but it is a great jam and shows the bands multiple sides.  Make sure to check them out if you like them.  I can’t wait for the stuff they are going to put out in the future.
So, back in July or June or whatever I said that I would be posting more content on this blog.  More reviews, stuff I find cool, and just trying to actually use this blog.  Well, obviously that didn’t really happen.  The intentions were fully there, but unfortunately life got a grip on my reins and led me away from this.  It happened pretty abruptly that I found work at not one, but two different places after spending two months looking for work and finding nothing.  Free time kind of declined for a bit after that, which in turn made it hard to properly manage this blog. Â
Now, things haven’t changed that much since then.  I’m no longer working two jobs but school just started back up.  The amount of time I have to spend on school is going to be pretty immense, almost like I still have that second job.  However, I don’t want these things to deter from me doing something that I actually enjoy.  Writing reviews and opinions about music, television, movies, or any other media is really fun for me.  Starting a conversation about those things and discussing them with others is what I really enjoy.
When I posted my review of the E3 press conferences over the summer it was the first time I had posted on this blog in almost a year (maybe even over a year). Â It was something that I felt inspired to write. Â I wanted people to read it and to hear about their opinions on the subject. Â Surprisingly enough, some of my friends were responsive to this. Â My post enabled a dialogue to begin about this subject I am passionate about and I was elated to discover how my peers viewed it.
I think that this capacity for media to impact people is what drives me to do what I want to do. Â Nothing should stop me from going full force into something that I consider important to me and that has proven to be important to others. Â Because of this and a lot of support from people in my life, I think I am finally able to realize that I just have to do it. Â My focus still needs to be on school while I work on my degree but that is no reason to not do what I can.
So that is what I am going to do.  Do what I can.  Maybe I’ll find the time to write some reviews or to post some cool music that I’ve been listening to.  It might not be plentiful, but because I do love doing it so much I can’t just forget about it.  This time I won’t put any kind of pressure on myself to create the content.  That shouldn’t be the way things have to work.  Anyway, I just really wanted to put this out there.  After talking with so many people I understand that I shouldn’t let anything hold me back.  Now I’m not going to.
So, I’ve been listening to a lot of this band recently.  They just came out with their first album in like 19 years this past week and it’s pretty glorious.  Maybe there will be a full review up later today/tomorrow/this week.  I don’t like to commit to deadlines because I’ll probably forget and then I won’t be able to follow through on the deadline.  I’ll just keep it nice and open ended like that and eventually it will be here and you can read my thoughts and stuff.  Enjoy listening to some Failure and if you like this go check out their album from 1996 Fantastic Planet because this song is on it as well as many other great tunes.
Beginning to watch a new television series is always something difficult for me to decide.  I have to weigh the pros and cons of what it means to start watching this new series.  How long is every season?  How many seasons are there?  Can I really dedicate myself to watching all of this when I start?  That is why I normally don’t watch something unless I know it is going to be worth my time, and it’s the reason why I haven’t watched a lot of popular shows.  Fortunately for me I decided to take the plunge into Orang is the New Black right when it started.  Well, actually a little bit later but at least when only season one was on Netflix. It was short, seemed interesting, and I had heard a lot of recommendations from people that I should watch it.  Of course, I had no idea what I was getting into.  The title didn’t really grab my attention, and the Netflix thumbnail wasn’t anything special.  It seemed like it would be pretty harmless to begin watching this show.  Season two was coming out soon so it would be fresh in my mind what had happened previously. Â
Now I have to thank everyone who told me to watch this show because it’s fantastic.  The first season exceeded my expectations (as I had little to none) and season two was even better than the first in my opinion.  The way the show was able to blend some pretty dark elements with a good amount of lighthearted comedy was amazing.  One moment I could be laughing my ass off at a joke, and the next moment I would be in complete shock.  I felt for these characters, had an idea of how they thought, why they were in prison, and what drove them to be the way they are.  The show was able to make me understand that just because these women were criminals didn’t make them any less human.  They faced the same types of problems that everyone else does on a day to day basis, both in and out of prison.  Breaking down the preconceived notions of what it means to be a criminal is such an important part of this show, and a reason so many people enjoy it. So when they announced that there was going to be a third season I was super ecstatic.  What were they going to do to top season two?  After all of that was it even possible to make it darker, to get even more into the psyches of these criminals and explore the inner workings of prison life? Â
From here on out I’m not going to hold back any spoilers about the series, so if you haven’t watched any of it (if so, I highly encourage you to go do so) and you don’t want to know major plot points I would advise you to stop reading right here.  This includes season three as that will be my main focus in this review.  Alright, here’s the big spoiler tags.  *SEASON 1-3 SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ONWARD*  Okay, so if you are still reading either you have watched all the seasons of OITNB or you just don’t care about spoilers.  I gave you fair warning.  So season three picks up right where season two ended.  Vee has been vanquished by Rosa who was escaping from prison after learning she only had a few weeks left to live.  Caputo has now taken Fig’s job and is on a mission to turn the prison around, though obviously this isn’t the best position to be in with not one, but two escaped convicts on your first day.  Nicky and Boo have a nice stash of heroine hidden in the laundry room that they stole from Vee, and Piper was successful in getting Alex caught by her probation officer.
The first episode of season three focuses on Mother’s Day and gives a lot of insight into some of the inmate’s relationships with their mothers.  It is quite interesting to see some of these as a few of the characters didn’t have any backstory at this point, or very little at best.  It sets the stage for how the rest of the season is going to progress.  We’re going to see how a lot of the side characters developed into how we know them in Litchfield.  Along with this we also learn that Alex is back in prison! Honestly, I wasn’t really too thrilled about this.  Mostly because I knew at some point Piper would have to tell her why she got caught and I’ve already seen enough of the whole Piper-Alex storyline.  It’s only been three seasons so far and I feel like they’ve had a more tumultuous relationship than Ross and Rachel did in ten seasons.  Though to be fair, they are in quite different situations.
Anyway, we also see a different side of Dogget where she is kind of having a little funeral for all the babies she aborted.  She is being comforted by Boo at one point, and I’m actually a huge fan of their relationship.  Boo gives Dogget a different way to look at everything in this situation, and actually helps her out quite a bit throughout the season.  There’s also a start to a long thing that goes on with Daya, Bennet, and the baby.  This storyline continues throughout the season and I’ll touch on that in a bit. Basically this first episode kind of sets up a lot of the plot for what will happen for the rest of the season, though at this point we are missing a few key elements and characters.  So let’s fast forward a little bit.
Obviously I can’t cover everything that happens in this season because there is quite a lot of content in each episode, but I’m going to do my best to point out the things that I liked about his season, and the things that I thought could have done better.  I’ll begin with one of my favorite things about this season which was the Suzanne storyline.  What begins as something that you’d expect to just be a one-off joke turns into one of the larger plots of the season.  A new councilor at Litchfield asks the inmates to write stories for her drama class. Suzanne decided to write an intensely graphic erotic novel that takes place in space.  A few of the passages do get read aloud, and are of course quite humorous, but the kicker of this story is that the inmates actually become addicted to her smut.  She has legions of fans asking her for the next chapter, wondering who will end up with who and prying her for answers.  In some ways it seems like the writers were having a little in joke about fans of the show, which makes it even better.  Of course, this isn’t just a comedic plot.  We get a nice insight into why Suzanne writes this stuff and how she works in her brain.  We also learn that she is in fact a virgin, which leads to some interesting developments.
The next thing that I thought was well done was the main plot for the season. Eventually we learn that Litchfield is going to be shut down.  A lot of inmates are getting early releases because of this, and the rest are going to be transferred to other prisons.  Caputo attempts to remedy this situation by essentially selling the prison to an outside company.  While it seemed like a great idea at the time this actually ends up being a terrible decision.  The company takes over and tries to reduce costs by cutting the full-time guards down to part-time so they don’t have to give them benefits.  This upsets the guards who eventually try to unionize against the new company.  This new company also introduces a new high paying job to the prison.  We find out that this job is actually sewing panties for the company that bought the prison.  Caputo also gets fucked over because the company wants him to think he’s in charge when really their employee Danny (who we learn later on is actually the son of someone higher up in the company) is pulling the strings now.
Now we have all of the set pieces in place.  Piper starts using extra fabric from making panties to make her own panties which she then decided to have the inmates wear so she can sell them to people on the outside.  Originally Alex is onboard with this, but as Piper gets more involved Alex decides it isn’t really her thing.  Also, Alex is very paranoid that Kubra (the drug lord she used to work for that she kind of sold out at the beginning of season two) is going to send someone inside the prison to kill her.  Piper doesn’t really believe Alex and this causes the two to gradually separate as the season continues. Â
While all of this is going on several other things are happening. Norma accidentally starts some sort of prison cult that Leanne decides she’s in control of.  Dogget befriends one of the new part-time guards only to find out that he’s actually a psychopathic rapist.  Bennett freaks out after going to see Daya’s family outside prison and just disappears on her.  Pornstache’s mother offers to adopt Daya’s baby (because she is under the impression that it is her grandchild), and Daya goes back and forth over whether or not she wants to give it up.  Oh, and I forgot to mention that within the first three episodes Nicky finds someone to sell the heroine, gets caught with the heroine, and is sent away to max. This actually really upset me because she was one of my favorite characters and then she’s just not there for the majority of this season.
Anyway, the end of this season culminates in a really nice way.  I’m going to leave out a lot of the in between plot points because like I mentioned before, there is just way too much content to go through without doing an episode by episode review.  So by the end Piper has started a pretty thriving prison panty selling business with most of the girls working for her.  She’s set it up so that she can pay them an actual wage, and has a pretty good business partner in her new found friend Stella. Alex has basically stopped talking to Piper, and although she did realize she was being a little paranoid, she is still on edge about being killed by Kubra.  Norma lost control of her cult-type-thing and they don’t really believe in her miracles as much as they used to.  Daya has her baby and had decided to give it up, but her mom makes the final call and tells Pornstache’s mom the baby died during birth.
While meeting with her brother Piper finds out that all of her money has been stolen.  She discovers that Stella has taken it from her without asking, and seems to be understanding of her situation.  The rest of her employees don’t think this is fair, and instead see her as being soft thinking that they might be able to squeeze some more money out of her.  The tables are turned when we find out that Piper has hidden a shit load of contraband in Stella’s bunk, and she gets sent away only a few days before being released. Â
The best moment of the season finale however, is when some guys come to fix the fence out in the yard.  Caputo had discovered a whole in the fence because of a chicken being in the yard (yeah, they brought that back), so this needs to get patched up.  Well, the crew comes out to fix this up and removes an entire section of the fence opening up quite a large whole.  All the inmates in the yard see this, and because the guards have quit due to Caputo being a dick bag, they rush toward the opening.  They aren’t trying to really escape though, as it only bring them to the lake, but it is at least some sort of freedom for them all to enjoy.  The final moments we see have little to no dialogue, instead opting for an uplifting soundtrack while the inmates enjoy a swim in the lake.  Seeing them free and able to enjoy themselves actually put a smile on my face.  It was something they all deserved after being cooped up for so long.  Many fights seem to be put to rest in this moment, and it really is just beautifully done.
On the other end of things, Alex had been working out in the greenhouse when she was approached by a new guard.  The new guard is one of Kubra’s men and the last thing we see here is him aiming a gun at Alex.  So, yeah…she might be dead.  That’s probably one of the only moments in this season that really made my stomach drop. Previous seasons had a lot of those moments for me, while this season seemed to be a little more lighthearted. Aside from the very uncomfortable scene where Dogget gets raped by the guard, this season was a bit more lighthearted.
I left a lot out of what happened in this season.  It’s just so hard to get everything with so many characters and story lines.  Red had a weird thing with Healy.  There’s a feud between Gloria and Sophia.  Soso is really depressed and actually tries to kill herself because Healy sucks.  Caputo and Fig are fucking for some reason…yeah, a lot goes on in this show.
Anyway, overall this season wasn’t exactly what I expect out of Orang is the New Black.  It had a lot of the same elements but the bigger moments that happened in past seasons were very lacking.  There weren’t as many wow moments as before, and instead it seemed to focus more on the development of relationships.  We got to see a lot of different back stories for characters that we didn’t really know much about before like Norma, Leanne, Dogget, Boo, Marisol, Daya, and Chang. There are probably even more that I can’t remember.  The main stories were still serious, but didn’t have the same tone as the previous seasons. Does any of this make the third season a bad season?  No. Not at all.  Just a different season.  At some points a much more fun season than the others, and at others a much more cryptic.  I’m definitely interested in seeing what the next season has in store for us.  I have faith that this show isn’t completely out of ideas yet.
*YEAH THE SPOILERS ARE OVER* In any case, I hope you kind of liked my overview of season three and my thoughts on it.  This turned out a lot differently than I was expecting it to, but I still had a lot of fun writing it.  As the title of the blog suggests sometimes I just get really bored and want to write things like this.  So, if you want to read more of my ramblings about TV shows and stuff let me know.  I just started watching the anime Psycho Pass, so I might write a review for that when I am finished.  Also, feel free to give me your thoughts on season three because I love having conversations with people, and I really didn’t talk about that as much as I should have in this post.  Hope you all have a nice day and enjoy watching OITNB in the future!
I hope you are all having a lovely day!  Here’s an awesome video of Snarky Puppy being bad ass as usual, but even more so because there’s a fucking orchestra playing with them.  Some really awesome licks and riffage in this video so if you’re looking for some fun jazz fusion in your life right now I definitely suggest listening to this.  Anyway, I just typed up a long post about the new season of Orange is the New Black and I’m probably going to post that later.  Just wanted to throw some music your way as well.  Like I said I’m actually going to try to keep content on this blog as much as I can, otherwise what’s the point in having it?  Keep on living your lovely lives and look for that lengthy OITNB post later.  It’s really just me kind of giving an overview of season three and some of my thoughts.  Nothing super spectacular.  I was just bored and listening to some doom metal.  Catch you later!
It’s that time of the year again.  Everywhere I look it’s becoming increasingly hard to avoid seeing news about video games popping up.  My Facebook news feed is filled to the brim with game announcements, new trailers, hands-on previews, and my friends opinions on all of those things.  Now this is the first year in quite a while that I’ve actually been involved in watching a lot of the E3 coverage.  When I say a lot, I mean I watched every press conference that happened the past three days.  This hasn’t happened for me in a long time so I’ve decided that since I actually tuned in to every press conference I’d give my opinion as to how each one did. Â
Before I go any further I need to make sure that I state that again: this is my opinion on how these press conferences ranked.  Many people are going to have differing views on which press conference was better, and I am by no means saying any of this is definitive as that would be stupid.  I simply feel like ranking them according to how I felt after each one ended.  You don’t have to agree with me on the rankings, and I actually encourage hearing what you guys think.  Maybe even post your own rankings.  Just try to keep it civil.  Anyway, I’ll get to my rankings since this is going to be a lengthier post.
7. Â EA
This was probably the easiest one to rate.  I was extremely bored by EA’s press conference because of the focus on sports gaming and the lack luster game announcements.  There were a few cool games that they showed, such as the new title Unravel which promises to be a unique puzzle-platformer, and has a pretty cool art style as well.  Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst also peeks my interest as I really enjoyed the first game, and if they can deliver on what they say this game will be I’m pumped to get my hands on this new installment.  Unfortunately everything else was just really dull.  I have no interest in sports games, though I know that is a huge portion of what they do, and that there is a huge audience for that.  Need for Speed and the new PvZ: Garden Warfare game didn’t get my attention at all.  They also spoiled the grand finale for us by telling everyone at the beginning that it was going to be Star Wars: Battlefront, so it wasn’t a cool surprise to look forward to, although the game does look stunning.  Overall this press conference did little to keep my attention or excite me for upcoming titles.
6. Square Enix
It absolutely pains me that I have to rank this one so low, but it just really fell flat.  They had a lot of really cool games to show off, and so much hype surrounding games like Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV, but they just didn’t deliver a good press conference.  Of course, I’m excited about a lot of the games they are going to be putting out, but the actual conference itself was boring as sin.  There was far too much talking about the games, and significantly less showing of the games.  We did get some cool new footage of a Tangled world in KHIII (which I’m actually super pumped about because I love that movie) and a new IP from new developer Tokyo RPG Factory called Project Setsuna.  Other than that a lot of what they had to talk about was stuff that they had already showed at Sony’s conference the night before.  This included the biggest announcement they had to make: Final Fantasy VII Remake!  If they had kept that as a reveal for this press conference they easily could have stolen the show, but instead they gave it to Sony and then showed the same trailer.  I was hoping from something big from them this year, but nothing really grabbed my attention.  As much as I’m excited for a lot of the games they have in development, they didn’t do enough for me to actually want those games just yet.  Hopefully they’ll have more to reveal at the Tokyo Game Show.
5. (Tom Clancy’s) Ubisoft
This one was a little harder to place in my list.  I originally wanted to put Ubisoft in the number six spot because I’m a bit of a Square Enix fanboy, but I honestly thought their press conference was just a little bit better.  They opened with a trailer for a new South Park game called South Park: The Fractured But Whole, which got me super pumped.  I loved the Stick of Truth and hopefully this game will be just as funny.  Bringing out Trey Parker and Matt Stone also was a good beginning starting off on a lighter note, and making me want to see what happens next.  A few more titles caught my eye, the biggest one being For Honor.  This game looks pretty cool.  It is a 4v4 battle game that focuses on knights, vikings, and samurai fighting against each other.  Huge battles are going on around you while you duel with players from the opposing team.  I’ve heard a little more about it from videos of people who had some hands-on time with it, and it seems like it could be promising.  Right now it is only in a pre-alpha build though, so there is still some time to go before I’ll really know if it’s worth it.  The other game that drew me in was Trackmania Turbo.  It’s really just another racing game, but the whole track design aspect and how fast you could go looked awesome.  I was also pretty entertained when they made a random track and the guy playing just slammed into a sign right off the bat.  That just made it feel more real.  So that’s the reason this conference beat out Square Enix, but it’s still pretty low because everything else was just meh for me.  Three Tom Clancy games (I kind of already addressed that in the header), Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and Just Dance 2016 weren’t really my cup of tea, which ends up placing this a little further down my list.
4. Nintendo
Poor Nintendo.  I was super excited to see what they had to show off at E3 when they decided they weren’t going to reveal anything about the new Zelda game this year.  Sadly I didn’t get what I was expecting.  The whole puppet thing was really cute and they started off strong by announcing a new Star Fox game, but it quickly became boring as it went on.  It was cool to get some behind the scenes stuff about the games that are coming out this year, but there wasn’t enough new stuff to get excited about.  They did reveal Triforce Heroes, a new Mario & Luigi game, and a new Mario Tennis installment, but they focused on a lot of games that we already know about.  As interested as I am in those new titles there wasn’t anything big for me (Star Fox is great, but it didn’t really do much for me), and the amount of trailers that I had already seen put me off a little bit.  Nintendo definitely understands their audience, and they played into that really well with their event.  Some bigger game announcements and less focus on games we’ve already been hearing about for a year would have been nice.  As someone who already owns a 3DS (and will have a Wii U for at least another year thanks to my roommate) I’m excited for this year in Nintendo games, but upset that they weren’t able to bring the hype.  I guess it’s hard to follow up the year after you release Smash Bros...
3. Microsoft
I know this is going to be the one a lot of people disagree on me with, and I’ll admit that this one came down to a little bit of personal bias.  This was actually a phenomenal press conference.  Microsoft announced that backward compatibility for Xbox 360 games was coming to the Xbox One, there are a shit ton of titles coming out exclusively for Xbox One, and they had representation for a lot of established franchises like Halo 5: Guardians and Gears of War 4.  The demo of the Microsoft HoloLens with Minecraft was fucking mind blowing, and the little section dedicated to indie developers was a great addition after Microsoft has come under fire in the past for not being very friendly in that realm.  So, with all of these amazing things why am I putting Microsoft at number three?  Like I said this is purely my opinion and I’m just not as interested in the games they had to offer.  I haven’t really played Halo since the third installment, though I’ll admit this new one looks like it might be fairly decent.  I wasn’t a huge fan of multiplayer in the last game because it just felt like a Call of Duty game with a Halo skin, but maybe that’s been improved in this new game.  Also, the new Gears game just looks like more of the same.  The franchise was never able to hook me when it first came out, and each new game doesn’t seem to offer anything groundbreaking.  Though they did decide to go from a bunch of dull brown colors to a bunch of dull grey colors this time around.  Rise of the Tomb Raider doesn’t look like anything to right home about based on what they showed us so far, but Rare Replay and Sea of Thieves definitely have my attention.  I’m still not sold on buying the Xbox One, but Microsoft had a great showing this year.
2. Sony
Okay, okay.  They don’t have as many exclusives as Microsoft, and I can admit that most of the games they showed here were shown at other press conferences, but they had one big game that got it for me.  No, it wasn’t the Final Fantasy VII Remake, it was The Last Guardian.  Holy crap, it’s actually a thing that still exists.  They could have just shown that, said “That’s everything, enjoy your E3″, and I would have been set.  I absolutely adore Shadow of the Collosus and what I have played of Ico (admittedly I got stuck and stopped playing after a while), so I am super excited that this is a game that is actually happening.  This is the game that has sold the PS4 for me, along with Bloodborne although that game has already been out for a while.  Fortunately for me they didn’t just stop at The Last Guardian and there was a strong showing from games like No Man’s Sky, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Firewatch, and Uncharted 4.  Of course, they also had the reveal trailer for the FFVII remake which has gotten everyone in a tizzy because it’s been something people have wanted for the past forever.  I personally have never played the game, but seeing as the remake is coming out on PS4 first and I’ll probably be buying a PS4 this holiday, I’m sure I’ll end up playing the remake when it comes out.  Sure, I’m a little bit of a Sony fanboy so my bias might have something to do with this ranking, but that’s bound to happen with these things.  Sony hit a home run for me and I’m super pumped about what they have in store.
1. Bethesda
Now on to the conference that I think won it all.  If Sony hit a home run for me these guys had a grand slam.  Bethesda fucking killed it, and this was their first time even giving a press conference!  They opened it up with the new Doom showing several minutes of gameplay both in and out of Hell.  This was a beautiful opener.  The game looks amazing and seems to retain a lot of the same feeling as the original Doom.  A good way to start off the show.  They then went on to unveil Dishonored 2, which got a good amount of people excited, and there was some stuff about Elder Scrolls Online and a new Elder Scrolls strategy card game.  Then they decided to just blow everyones minds with Fallout 4 gameplay footage, a release date in November, a second screen Pip-Boy app (along with the collector’s edition that comes with a wearable Pip-Boy you can put your phone in), and they released an iOS game called Fallout Shelter that night.  It was like Christmas coming early.  I was just amazed at the amount of content they had to show us and it immediately made me know that I was going to buy Fallout 4 when it comes out.  I could probably write a whole other thing just about how amazing Fallout 4 looks like it’s going to be (and maybe I will) because they gave us so much to be excited about.  This is the way to do a press conference.  Book end it with a shit ton of awesome in-game content, and give us something to be hyped for.  For the first time giving a press conference this was just spectacular.  Way to go Bethesda!
So there you have it.  After watching every press conference this is how I feel they ranked.  Don’t be afraid to leave a comment or post how you felt about these press conferences.  Also, stay tuned to this blog as I’m planning on posting a lot more content as the summer goes.  Hope you are enjoying this E3 as much as I am!
Rush will always be one of my favorite bands. Â Been jamming them out recently and decided to look up a few videos. Â This has always been a favorite song of mine and this live performance is incredible. Â Take a listen to a section of By-Tor and the Snow Dog if you are in the mood for some classic prog jamming.
There are just some musicians that are so talented it makes you question reality. Â Hiromi Uehara is one of these musicians. Â There are no more words.
Such a beautiful song from Scale the Summit. Â I saw these guys a few years ago and they just blew me out of the water. Â I first heard about them when they toured with Dream Theater for Progressive Nation 2009. Â They have come quite a way in the past five years and even though they aren't a household name or anything they still have a great following. Â Keep it coming guys!
I really hope that every one who follows me likes prog metal because that is what I have been almost exclusively listening to recently. Â This is an instrumental band called Chon. Â I really enjoyed the EP I listened to last night and decided to share some of their music with you guys. Â Hope you enjoy!
This isn't the best quality ever, but this band and this song are both awesome. Â I just came across this band last night. Â They are called Grayceon and the only instruments are guitar, cello, and drums. Â The sound they have is very unique and I really enjoy them because of it. Â If you have the time I highly suggest this band.
On the other side of things I found this ridiculous prog band called The Aristocrats. Â It's comprised of some super amazing musicians and the songs are just insane. Â This particular song is pretty tame compared to the album I listened to the other day but I couldn't find any other videos that were a reasonable length even though their songs aren't stereotypical prog length.
Anyway, hopefully you enjoy this tasty little jam from the Aristocrats entitled "Waves"
Another cool new band I found out about recently. Â They have a very interesting style of music that blends a lot of really beautiful styles of music together. Â Been listening to a lot of them recently when I am falling asleep.
I am breaking down and posting a video of their popular song because I just really like it and this video is cool and live and shit and what the fuck ever. Â I DO WHAT I WANT!!!
So this band, Electric Guest, has a really popular song that I just heard the other day. Â It's actually a very good song but I didn't want to post the video for that song so instead I chose this video I found. Â It's a slower song but it's still nice. Â I actually really enjoyed the album the have out called "Mondo". Â It was a good time. Â So check them out if you want to or stay tuned for more from me. Â I have a couple of bands that I will be talking about today...maybe...we'll see.
