crumples this up and shoves it in my mouth like paper.

Nameless Ghouls x Ghoul Reader w/ Social Anxiety
Sitting on the couch in the lounge your eyes burning holes into your lap, you picked at the loose threads of your pants.
“Hey, (y/n) can you hand me the remote next to you?” Aether asked startling you. Jerking your head up your eyes met with his, quickly darting your vision away you shakily grabbed the remote nodding, your tail softly flicking as your social anxiety crawled up your body. Handing the larger ghoul the remote you returned your focus back to your lap.
“Thanks,” Aether said. You simply nodded.
“Is it alright if I sit next to you?” He asked, you looked at him with a look of slight discomfort on your face nodding slowly. Aether was fine, there was nothing to worry about but still you couldn’t help but find yourself, scared.
He seemed to pick up on your anxiety and frowned slightly. Shaking his head.
“Yknow wha, don’t worry about it I’ll sit over here instead,” he said pointing to an arm chair. His tail swaying a bit, your anxiety taking the action as a sign of anger, you bit your lip gripping your knees as your tail ducked between your legs. An action missed by the other ghoul.
“Guys! Hurry up we’re gonna watch Halloween!” Aether called out alerting your other ghoul counterparts.
The other ghouls made their way in, each sitting down, the only spot remaining was the one next to you. Sodo groaned plopping down next to you. Your grey skin tickling with anxiety. Everyone was here around you. You can’t make a mistake they’ll all notice and make fun of you or hate you. Don’t breathe too loud, don’t move even if your body aches. Don’t. Do. Anything.
Keeping your head slightly tilted down you kept to yourself, not joining in on the conversations and jokes going on around you.
“If you’re not even going to watch the movie why don’t you just go to your room” Sodo said, he probably didn’t mean such words to upset you but the dagger in your chest twisted.
“Ah, Uhm yeah, I’ll go” you muttered shakily getting up as to not disturb anyone your eyes glanced around you noticing all the eyes were now on you, in your anxious state the states were translated into glared. you gulped. Your skin felt hot, like you were thrown into a fire, your throat tight, eyes burning as tears threatened to pour out. Taking a deep breath you made your way out of the room, breaking into a run as soon as you were away from peering eyes. You ran past your shared room, you didn’t want to be seen to be found. They would definitely make fun of you and yell at you for being such a crybaby.
Running into the corridor you passed brothers and sisters of sin hot tears now streaming down your face. STOP STARING. You wanted to scream but that would only bring in more attention. You found yourself curled up in the library under a table. Softly sniffling as you head your head in your hands, holding onto your horns for comfort.
You don’t know when you fell asleep but your tired eyes gave way to slumber.
“-ey! Cmon wake up…. Can’t be comfortable under there…”
You groaned softly opening your eyes only to be met with the worried gaze of rain. The feet and legs of the other ghouls visible from your hiding spot.
“What are you doing down here? Swiss was worried when you weren’t in your bed,” rain softly said. Panic rose in your body your eyes darting for an exit. Seeing an opening you darted for it. Rain calling out a ‘hey! Wait!’
A hand grabbed your scruff your eyes meeting with the firey ones of Sodo, his eyebrows furrowed, in a state of panic you lunged back biting him. He hissed, forcing you to the ground. You screamed, you did it now, they all hate you now, they have to there’s no way they don’t. Closing your eyes from their watchful eyes you felt everything coming up. A loud sob escaping your mouth as tears poured out.
“Sodo what did you do?!” Cirrus cursed.
“I didn’t do shit they’re the one that bit me!” The fire ghoul responded.
“Hey, hun, what’s wrong? Why are you so upset?” Cumulus asked softly, you felt her hand gently run through your hair, sodo’s weight on your body slowly fading away as you were brought into strong arms.
“Hun please look at us,” Aether said, carefully opening your eyes you found yourself in the quintessence ghoul’s arms.
“What’s wrong? You never talk to us and avoid us, we just wanna help,” cumulus said gently holding your hand.
“You don’t, hate me?” You asked stumbling over your words.
“Lord Satanas no! Why would you even think that?, no! Never!” Swiss called out.
“We should be the ones asking you that,” Sodo said. “You never look at us, talk to us, avoid us or ignore us,”
“No! I don’t hate you!” You sobbed, “I just-“ you stopped yourself, biting your lip.
“Just what love?” Rain hummed softly.
“I have uh, social anxiety,” you confessed, you watched as the ghouls gears clicked around you. Rain’s face lighting up.
“Oh! That makes a lot more sense!” He chirped. “Oh love, I’ve been in your place before worried about everything and everything scared what others will think of me, scared to speak scared to interact, but you don’t need to be scared anymore, we care about you so much, we’ll give you space when you need it and be there whenever you want, you don’t have to force yourself to talk to us but you’re safe here, judgement free zone,” rain explained the ghouls around him nodding.
“Yeah I mean, our papa is the most anxious person ever, and if we can handle him whatever you have going on will be a piece of cake” cirrus stated matter of factly.
“Nothing to worry about when you’re with us, we won’t let anything bad happen to you, or make fun of you,” mountain softly said.
“Yeah, don’t worry about a thing,” Aether hummed, before grinning, “yknow this is the first time I’ve held you” he stated nuzzling you, your horns knocking against his. “I’m never letting you go, you’re so comfy!”
“Hey! I wanna hold them!” Swiss whined, “give ‘em here!” He playfully growled stealing you out of Aether’s grasp, snuggling you in his arms purring. “He’s so right, you’re so huggable, can’t believe we went this long without hugging you,”
You giggled softly the ghouls tensing around you, you froze scared you did something wrong before cirrus basically jumped on you.
“THATS SO CUTE!” She screamed. “Oh Lucifer I love you!”
Swiss let out a squeal hugging you trying to shelled you away from others.
“No they’re mine! Get off! I’m their roommate!” He complained.
“Oh piss off swiss, sharing is caring.”
Cirrus successfully loosened Swiss’ grasp on you only for Sodo and rain to steal you away, their tails intertwining with yours.
“You’re never getting away from affection now, deal with it looser,” Sodo hummed softly.
You were so happy, they didn’t hate you, you didn’t have to worry about anything with them! You could be yourself, you were so excited!
