Still a bit sleepy, but ... he's awake.
For as long as the girl had been in this form as she traveled the world, she had long since learned that since she would have to deal with it for the rest of eternity, it was much better to enjoy her time and experience as many pleasant things as she could. While she also wished to help humans, she had all the time the world had left to do so. After more than ninety thousand years, she could allow herself some leisurely time, right?
Watching the other turn to leave, the brunette perked up a little, taking a few quick steps to follow after him as her hands clasped behind her back.
"Well, yes, I do!" she answered. "But would you like to come with me, sir? I would be more than happy to treat you if you wish to celebrate such wonderful weather."
"No. That's ... "
"That's alright." There's a pause before he declines. Usually Natural has a stronger distaste for anything involving a 'together' - but perhaps his milder attitude has something to do with the atmosphere of the being walking beside him. The girl seems harmless. Innocuous and nontoxic, as if very pure.
Nevertheless, he would rather spend the day alone. He states as much, bluntly and without rephrase.
"I hate being with others."
Curiosity is evident in beryl hues as she studies the stranger before her, admittedly perplexed as to why he seemed so… Curious over something as simple as the pleasant weather. What an odd man… Shouldn’t he have been happy instead? “Well, with such pleasant weather we have, you should indulge in something entertaining!” she suggested. “Like… Perhaps going to a park orrrr getting ice cream!”
She was always happy to see humans enjoying the weather she would bring, and hopefully he would as well.
Natural manages a sound not unlike a scoff; it rises out of his throat just audibly as he glances away. Parks? Ice cream...? Just what sort of petty existence does this girl take him for?
Actually, it's pretty tempting. Natural slips both hands into his pockets and feigns nonchalance. "You can do that," he replies smoothly, beginning to walk north. "Should you like ice cream,... and all that."
"It feels like it will be a pleasantly warm day today, does it not?" Courtesy of her, for when she’s happy, she can’t help but make sure the temperature is just as pleasant. "You should enjoy the pleasant weather today!"
Well, actually, now that she mentions it. The sun is bright, but not hot, just pleasant. The breeze flits across his skin as if in jest. No doubt about it; this might be the best weather Natural had ever experienced.
"Yes, the weather is nice." His expression changes swiftly to one of curiosity. "How strange."
Well well, that certainly wasn’t a happy look on his face. How could he look so unhappy on such a pleasant morning?
"Yes, good morning to you! I hope you had a pleasant sleep last night, dear friend!"
"Ah, yes. Just fine."
Except his face says an exceptional otherwise. He peers down at her impassively, willing her to stop that impetuous smiling of hers.
"The early bird catches the worm! Good morning—! ♫"
Wonders what's there to be so happy about.
"Good morning."

A New Beginning
The other seemed to be sniffing a lot for someone “not sick”, but Hibiki decided to drop the subject. He wasn’t going to mother the other any time soon after all.
"Just N?" Hibiki asked, thinking of how strange of a name that was. Perhaps it was just a nickname, but it was still an odd name to call yourself. It didn’t bother Hibiki, though. The strangeness of the name kind of fitted N. "Heh. That’s a name you don’t hear very often! Nice to meet you, N."
A sudden shudder went through Hibiki’s body. It was getting colder by the second. He rubbed his hands together, hoping for his tingling fingers to get a little warmer. It didn’t work.
"The library sounds good to me."
"As it is to you, Hibiki Kuze."
His tone of voice is polite and a little stiff. Perhaps if the weather were just a tad warmer, he would have elaborated a little more, talked more about the city as Tour Guide!Natural would have. But the cold is so debilitating. Natural can only manage another sniff before noting that Hibiki seemed to shiver a little as well.
The library, as promised, is not far away. Natural leads the smaller boy just a few blocks to peer up at the building. As soon as he opens the door a warm puff of air beckons the duo in; Natural murmurs into the fabric of his scarf.
"Do you like books?"
Coffee Beans [TC Open]
Did he not know what a snowman was? Maybe he really was from the tropics. Either way, he did have a point- warm snow sounded like it was taken out of a fantasy, like a magical occurrence dreamed up by a genius. Although, Merrill supposed, it would still be wet and sticky. And you would get all this warm water stuck in the worst places. And if it was warm, would it melt? What if it was like the opposite of regular snow in every way, and it froze when you touched it? Oh, but that would ruin the point, wouldn’t it? Maybe thinking about this particular impossibility for too long wasn’t the best of ideas.
"I don’t even know how that would work, but it’s a pretty thought." she replied, conforming what she thought as she continued. "And people would certainly be able to make more interesting things out of snow. It would be a lot easier to work with, and you could still build all those intricate sculptures! But I suppose it just wouldn’t have the same feeling. There’s just something tingly to be said about cuddling up by the fire on a cold winter’s night.”
At the word, Natural tilts his head back and laughs. Tingly? "I don't like being tingly," he replies quickly, spitting out the word as if it were a bitter pill. "I have no idea what sort of feeling you're talking about."
After a pause, he looks up at the girl, expression switching quickly into one of thinly veiled curiosity (this was his default expression). He notes briefly that the girl has strange markings on her face. "What did you say your name was?" he asks as he shifts a blanket off his shoulder. The air was getting warmer around him considerably fast, and Natural had thawed already.
"Or are you the barista? Can you get me a cup of coffee."
(leaves a voice message after the beep) "My best joke? Just take a look in the mirror for that one, buddy!"
Hilarious.
A New Beginning
"Are you sick?" Hibiki asked, totally ignoring the other’s recommendations of places to go to. He was really appreciating the other’s help, but Hibiki couldn’t just expect a sick person to help him out. "You shouldn’t push yourself too hard…"
Hibiki would have told him to go home too, but he felt like he wasn’t in a position to say those kind of things. How could he, a complete stranger, just tell the other what to do? That was wrong and Hibiki didn’t like being that way either.
"…We could find a place to warm up, perhaps. If you don’t mind, uh…" Suddenly realizing they didn’t know each other’s name yet, Hibiki introduced himself. "My name is Hibiki Kuze. Nice meeting you."
"I am fine!"
Out of instinct, Natural snaps at the other, showing briefly a flash of archaic anger at the other's gentle words. Just as quickly, he coughs and rubs his face with his sleeve. He repeats himself. "I am fine."
He nods to acknowledge the other's introduction. Names have never been particularly important to him, but for now, it will be good to keep Hibiki Kuze's name in mind. "Hibiki," he smiles absently at the younger boy, corners of his lips curling up. "My name is N. I am something of a tour guide in this city; I know it like the back of my hand. You must be new."
He waves his hand vaguely in the air as if to enunciate the point of his importance. "The library is that way. Follow me."
Yuuma had just been walking along until he spot the scrap of paper. He stared at it for a few seconds before snorting. ” Who’d do something like this?”there was a chance the said person could get creeps calling him but Yuuma simply shrugged the idea off.
He hadn’t had much to do so he figured calling the said person up wouldn’t be a bad idea. Plus earning a laugh out of a complete stranger couldn’t be so bad?
He flicked his phone out and dialed the number on the scrap of paper. As soon as he heard them answered he spoke.
"What do you get when you cross a snowman with a Shark?"
The phone rings not long after Natural had put up the flyer. Not that he's incredibly surprised -- but he is anticipating. Even as he picks up the receiver, he notes that the other's voice is that of a male's. A bit on the loud side. A younger male, perhaps, in his teens or just emerging out of.
The joke presents itself to him like an traffic cone. "Snowman and a shark?" The man pauses thoughtfully, letting his finger tap on the back of his cellphone. "Perhaps you get a frozen shark?"
What kind of person would cross a snowman with a shark anyway? Natural shakes his head lightly. His next words are completely serious. "The shark wouldn't survive in the snow. What a terrible choice for the splicer to make."
Coffee Beans [TC Open]
Well, for all his readily apparent faults, at least he was more interesting than the coffee table. Although she may have thought her only present company would be the barista when she entered the building earlier that day, Merrill’s life had always been full of surprises. And questions. Why was he shivering that much, for one? It hadn’t been that cold outside the last time she checked. Perhaps he had come from a warmer country? He didn’t really look it, although appearances could be deceiving.
"Well that would ruin the point of winter, wouldn’t it?" she quipped, watching the scowl deepen on the stranger’s face. That was a shame- Merrill quite thought that the man had the kind of face that would look better smiling. Not to mention he sneezed like a kitten- a tiny, high pitched noise. It was funny, now that she thought about it: the man was as grumpy as a cat, too.
"No." Natural shuffles to unwrap his arms from around his knees, pressed tight to his chest. He lifts up the tips of his fingers to glance at the tiny drops of water that had formed on them from the condensation. "The benefits of winter could be reaped far more if the temperature were not so ... sickness-inducing. Or if the air was lukewarm. Imagine snow like cotton."
There's a childish sentimentality to his groundless words. Normally the man would have something more intelligent to say, but snow has been on his mind for weeks. It's disappointing for him to realize that he could not play outside it in for long.
Natural gets comfortable where he sits, letting his back rest against the wall. "You could make the most incredible 'snow men', or whatever they call it."
“Tell me your best joke over the phone.." Gou said to herself as she stared at sign that was obviously written by hand. "What’s that all about?" Usually she had seen up were help wanted and lost pet signs. Not so much someone looking for a joke or two.
Though, she couldn’t help but be curious who was the one that needed a joke. Possibly an old man that needed some company.
Without hesitating much longer, she took her phone into her hand and carefully dialed the number on the slip.
"Why is six afraid of seven?" She jumped to ask without really waiting for a greeting over the phone.
Natural picks up the phone.
The voice on the line is that of a female's; from what he can tell, she is probably an adolescent, perhaps with the intention of calling to find out why such a flyer was posted.
"Because seven ate nine." His voice is dry as he replies almost immediately. Although Natural is, admittedly, devoid of typical humor, there were certain jokes that even he had heard of before. Cupping the receiver around his jaw, laughs lightly into the speaker; at least the girl on the other line is more humorous than her attempt is.
"You don't mean to tell me that's your best joke, little lady."
