The Crocodile Who Bit a Log concept art by Tom Herpich
I think my interpretations of the tlt characters mostly matches fandom norms/Tmuirs descriptions.... except John. You couldn't pry "unnassuming, gentle IT guy" John out of my brain if you wanted, he's permently embedded
wish I could go back in time and read his line about not making mistakes. blood chilling tbh
My first drawing of 2025! Not really...
......suddenly struck by the idea for a piece of worldbuilding of "fae don't like iron bc it is the most stable element*"
*as in elements higher you can extract energy via fission and lower you can extract energy via fusion but iron itself there is no excess binding energy to extract at all
YOU. YOU SEE MY VISION.
Related but not quite identical: my headcanon has always been that the fey, as creatures often associated with the stars, have issues with iron due to symbolic resonance.
What kills stars?
Iron.
(Because as OP noted it's the end of the fusion chain and thus a star accumulating an inert iron core is at end-of-life.)
A message here is left to travellers, all Of human folly, ceding unto us From mighty lords, a place where death out-falls We leave this message, one we ask you trust
No honor shall be found within this place Where human might and mind did break the bond No value left, nor honored dead to praise A deathly force is all that lies beyond
Remaining ages past this missive's birth The peril grows as to the heart you tread A cursed stone left buried in the earth Thy body wracked, undone, and swiftly dead
Within, our court, from whence you should go far Without, a warning, for this place is nuclear
When people talk about âgame writingâ they usually talk about it as if it were one monolithic thing. Itâs not. Itâs actually three monolithic thingsâŠ
This partly applies to RPGs. Especially the âshow it in your mechanicsâ part.
Your setting is high fantasy? Cool where are my magic items at low levels and why doesnât this farmer with the plague just go to the local cleric and gets it healed?
This character is a good guy? Then why does she use Hunger of Hadar, a spell that literally summons the evil of the universe?
Our game is about being epic heroes? Then why arenât we fighting epic monsters but only other humanoids?
Also, giving the players Lore is probably even harder in RPGs than it is in games. You canât have a item description, that would feel weird. You donât want to have NPCs infodump (though that is also true for games) So how can you deliver the lore of your world? I honestly donât know thatâs why I put the lore into a google drive and shared it with my players.

Palestinians of Tumblr!
I got three of my Palestinian costume books scanned this past week, I still have two more I am in the process of scanning, but for now, I have all of these available as PDFs for download. I know it is often difficult to find resources, especially for those in the diaspora, so feel free to save and share these. Link to the files

OoOoo⊠Better beware!!
I'm starting to get smile lines.
How lovely to have smiled so often that happiness permanently etches itself into your face
How metal to have lived a life where your face now pre-warns people not to fuck with you
How resilient to have cared so strongly that empathy is now visibly displayed on your face
september is coming up so hereâs your yearly reminder to leave billie joe armstrong the fuck alone
Well of course. We donât wake him up until October 1st.
His dad is dead, just donât.
In case anyone reading my blog is unaware, this is a reference to the Green Day song titled âWake Me Up When September Endsâ a song that Billie Joe Armstrong wrote following the death of his father in September of 1982 when Billie Joe was ten years old. The title of the song references his desire to sleep through September in an effort to get some emotional distance from the death of his father.
Heâs since been open about the emotional difficulty of having written the song since many people now message him on October 1st to âwake him upâ despite the song being a memorial to his departed father.
Itâs generally seen as respectful to not try to wake him up. Let him sleep and let him remember his father in peace.
reblogging again because the end of September is coming up. leave him alone.
Reblogging as a reminder to leave Billie Joe Armstrong the fuck alone on October 1st and any day after it if your message is going to contain anything to do with âwakingâ him up because September will be over.
