I need more artic fox Tails! He’s so cute! Maybe Sonic or Amy’s reaction to him becoming a different color? Any other things he does to stay cool besides icecream?

sonic just realized that tails's fur has been changing over the past week and is very confused

(assuming they first met in october, they've known each other for just a couple months at this point)

i know real arctic foxes take a few months for their fur to change color but i can do what i want so i decided it only takes a few weeks

im not sure when tails and amy would've first met, but for the purposes of this im saying it was sometime in the early summer, so she didn't know he had a winter coat

and of course the first time she saw it she thought he was the cutest thing ever (she's right)

big fan + ice

he'd probably make some sort of invention to keep himself cool as well but 1. i aint got the brain to figure that out lol and 2. sometimes nothing beats a block of ice

i also imagine he keeps his workshop reasonably cool, both for his comfort and ease when working

sonic may not like water but tails does! definitely a good way to cool off

and of course he has to annoy his brother what do you expect

and a little bonus cause i had some more thoughts!

tails can brush out his molting fur on his own but it's nicer to have someone do it for him (+ brother bonding time <3)

i like to think that every spring amy takes tails out on a "spa day" when the molting is at it's peak to help him shed and make it more comfortable

they'll go out and get some food, get a little sauna and bath time to loosen up all that fur, then go watch a movie while they brush it all out. they also like to get face masks and paint their nails while continuing the movie night

it's just a time for them to bond and hang out ! sonic sometimes joins during the movie/brushing part

i really really wanted to draw at least some of this but whenever i tried it just felt and looked bad it was so frustrating </3

maybe i'll be able to draw it in the future but i still wanted to share because this ask inspired that thought! and i love the relationship between tails and amy we need to have more of it <3

I'm glad romance isn't an inherent thread with the main line Sonic characters. Not because I don't think it isn't there or because I don't ship characters, but because I like the freedom it gives to the fandom. I love the creativity. I love the crackships. I love seeing the impassioned 'evidence' finding and rabbit holes people will drop down.

It's fun. It's engaging. It's a community I *like* to be a part of. If any of it was *canon* tho? 🤢☠️ Immediately no longer sparks joy.

Sonic as a series is about freedom and choice. Once something is settled into the stone of canon, it becomes far more difficult to ignore because it's everywhere. So if the writers ever make a ship canon, effectively sinking several others, it just wouldn't be fun anymore.
