okay something I've been wondering

why do different countries/regions have different outlet shapes/voltages?

like my family and I have traveled internationally A LOT and its something that genuinely intrigues me, especially cause I've never gotten a real answer other than "different standards I guess"

but WHY are there different standards is what I want to know. what makes it so that different countries HAVE those different standards in the first place?

Okay ive decided that this blog is gonna be a mix of l Iike personal content and fandom content

that being said

my dad telling me to go to sleep (mind you at like 10:35pm when I normally read fics till like 1 am (not that he knows that but still)) like there's not still music blaring and three pre-pubescent children running up and down the stairs

I had a dream

and the contents of the dream had multiple Owl House and Knights of Guinevere characters but thats not the point that needs to be made here

the point is I went through so much in this dream just to get a green tea lemonade (my Starbucks usual) including STARTING A GANG WAR

and then I freaking woke up before I could get my green tea lemonade

AND IM AWAKE WITH NO STARBUCKS WITHIN THE IMMEDIATE MILE-WIDE VICINITY (currently on vacation)

My spoiler-free Supergirl review

I personally loved the movie

Now keep in mind I'm not a comic reader (yet. i'm getting to it) so that is probably affecting my perception here.

HOWEVER

Solid 7/10 I'd say.

Definitely could have most of the main character backstories expanded on (especially the main antagonist), but I personally think Kara's was fine and dispersed well enough throughout the movie, which is what I was wanting anyways.

Fight scenes look incredible. Please watch this movie in IMAX if you can, it is so worth it. Maybe it's recency bias, but I'd put the fight sequences on the same level as Superman. Also, we love strong women kicking ass while not overly relying on the same stereotypes that I think make so many other characters under the "strong women" umbrella fall flat in the end. Yippee for progress there!

And Milly Alcock as Kara? Easily the best part of this movie. I feel like she perfectly encapsulated her character in every facet, and all the people I watched with agreed that she was the best part. And I really liked her complexity.

Also liked the very small Superman cameos sprinkled throughout, feel like they added a touch of comic relief in a way that didn't throw off the movie's overall tone.

Anyways, I'll save my spoiler review of the movie as a draft and share it maybe three weeks to a month from now just so that most people who wanna see it will have seen it by then. But overall, very enjoyable movie and I personally loved it.

I see people talking about the anger on his face (which valid) and how hard he's attacking whatever it is (also valid) but I see nobody talking about the fact that he's so angry he returned to default settings and started moving like a fucking CHEETAH

but anyways uhh this is in relation to "Legends Never Die (They're Just Made Anew)" which is my latest fic

It's a crossover between K-Pop Demon Hunters and Miraculous Ladybug, and essentially Marinette left Paris (with all, and I mean ALL) of the miraculouses in the Miracle Box after defeating Lila for good and moved to Korea, where she adopted the identity of Zoey and then got recruited into Huntrix (it makes slightly more sense when you read it, I promise), and then movie canon continues mostly as normal for the duration of the movie's actual events. So far, it's written in Marinette/Zoey's perspective, and I like that so I'll continue it for the present moment, but if need/demand arises, I'm not opposed to writing from the perspective of the other girls.

Currently writing chapter 3, which is the first one that takes place completely outside the scope of the movie. All I'm gonna say (other than go read the first two chapters please) is that I'm currently in the process of creating the villain that's gonna cause a lot of shit to go down between the girls (and also with Paris), and hooo boy-

Let's just say that I am proud to be continuing the trend of Gabriel Agreste haunting the narrative (and Marinette specifically) in some way shape or form, even if not directly :)

so I've graduated high school (and as valedictorian of my class, yippee!!)

but that means I don't have summer school (and I can't get a summer job cause we'll be traveling)

So I've decided I'm gonna finally learn how to play the guitar that's been sitting in my closet since like pandemic times

One slight issue: I don't know where to start

Anybody got some (preferably free) suggestions for learning to play guitar at least somewhat well?
