i was scrolling on someone's tumblr (i think it was during their hat in time posts) and i noticed your blog... and i was like "YOU WERE A HAT IN TIME FAN??" anyways. just. cool thing. that got me thinking: i had this one hat in time x gravity falls au inwhich stan and ford were vanessa/snatcher (nOT A SHIP) it was basically the whole portal incident except ford got turned into a shadowy monster thing controlled by bill and stan chilled and ate souls as a dead guy THE WORDCOUNT IS RUNNING OUT BYE

This was before my writing phase (of course) and interactive phase where I was mostly a lurker. I'm guessing you had Stan as Vanessa and Ford as the Snatcher? But a little reversed? Although I suppose both Vanessa and The Snatcher are shadowy creatures in their own right, ones just dead and the other is maybe dead but debatably alive? Unsure.
Just checked the wiki, she's alive according to that.
its a fun au idea! I can see a lot of ways Stan and Ford could go down a similar route to Vanessa and Snatcher. I'd love to hear any other ideas you had for the au if you want to share!

The subcon-falls au was partially inspired by Queen’s Nightmare by @/habijob! Rather than Ford completely turning into a monster all by himself, he turned into one due to Bill’s control

Mabel would. It's not even her first outfit or even when she knows it's Stan, just gets him some kitty boots and a tiny plush sword she uses string to tie to his paw, then holds him up from under the arms so he can 'walk' and makes sure his hat doesn't fall off. Stan let's this happen, because he's a huge softy, but he does give the rest of the house an evil eye when Mabel walks him around and moves his sword paw around whole quoting the movies.

like, they fit your personality a lot! They’re lap pets, they love sleeping (unlike you, my bad), introverted… etc etc.
they’re prickly but also very fluffy on the inside! Though, will warn you, they shit a lot. Might wanna be careful.
the one I have is very… nervous and jumpy although I still love him even if he’s technically unhealthily overweight :3! The other one I had died a few years ago and he was also overweight (though, they’re super cute when they’re fat and chubby >o<)
Hedgehog’s are legal in Oregon—at least the African Pygmy ones. The European ones are technically still endangered if I’m not wrong?
I don't like pointy and will absolutely not cuddle with pointy, but I've taken it into consideration!
European hedgehogs, as far as I can tell, are in rapid decline right now, and people aren't sure why..? So I doubt I'd be able to get my hands on one. They're very cute, though! ..maybe you should put yours on a diet.
i forgor to mention cuz i just woke up when i sent that, but hedgehogs flatten their spikes when comfortable around someone! It feels less like pain and more like rice

Sonny's mom (Kiyomi) is Chinese/Japanese, his father (Sun) is Malaysian/American. They came to New Jersey :D
Before I lore dump anymore, note that I am from southeast asia... (i do not want to disclose any more for privacy reasons). So :D if you think I'm stereotyping, I'm not trying to :3
His father is an Antique Restorer, while his mother is an Antique Appraiser/dealer. They own an antique store nearby the Pines' pawn shop.
Sonny met Stanley and Stanford when they were 6. Sonny draws with Stan, but enjoys talking about nerd stuff with Ford.
(Sadly, the poor boy was bullied for bringing his delicious Asian food for lunch both in and out of school...)
When Sonny was 7, his little sister (Sage) was born.
When all three of them reach High School, Sonny and the Stan twins drift away slightly due to the growing tensions between Stanley and Stanford.
After the incident-the one where Stan breaks the machine-Sonny finds himself confused why Stan would suddenly just... disappear. He does find out from his mom and Caryn that Stan is just... on the road and (probably) homeless. He attempts to stay in touch but because Stan keeps moving... he's unable to.
Aside from that, Sonny was also trying to get into a some prestigious university somewhere near Oregon for a degree in arts... but he doesn't get in due to his various absences to school. Why does this happen? Well...
His mother contracted some sort of blood cancer and was unable to keep the shop running. Sonny wasn't doing too well.
Whelp. Backupsmore it is.
So, he ends up at BMU with Stanford-- both equally disappointed. But hey, they room with Fiddleford (turns out Sonny's dorm was burnt down for some reason a few days before his arrival...)
Sonny settles for a degree in architecture with the arts as a minor...
By the time Stanford heads to Gravity Falls, Sonny is busy trying to find a school that would accept him to teach. None. He ends up back at his mothers antique shop in New Jersey.
A few years later, Stanford calls up Sonny since he and Fiddleford needed an extra pair of hands with the portal project. Sonny heads down with the assurance of Sage and his father to take care of the store and his mother. (The interaction was kinda like....)
"No, no. You go, you go. Saimui and your dad can handle the shop." Kiyomi grumbled, dusting an old chair within the shop.
Sonny frowned. He then replied, "Ah ma, you and Ah pa are so old and you still want me to go, meh? Oregon is so far away. I'm sure Ford and Fiddleford can find someone else." His mother sighed loudly at her sons refusal.
She walked over to him and grabbed his wrist. "You're so pale, tailou. Your friend lives in the forest, right? Will be good for you to get some sun." His mother narrowed her eyes as she squeezed. "You're so thin too. You better eat when you get there."
"Ah ma, I'm not going." He removed his wrist from her grip. Even if his mother wasn't saying it, Sonny knew she was just... concerned for him. He barely went out. The most was to buy groceries or the occasional substitute. He also barely ate.
"No, it's okay. You go. Your dad and I can handle the shop. Saimui too." His mother dragged the suitcase towards Sonny. "I want you to go talk to your friends. Make sure you visit me, ah."
He was given some fruit to go as well.
Saimui = Little sister
Tailou = Big brother
Ah pa = Dad
Ah ma = Mom
For a while, Sonny believed his mother wants to kick him out (mildly true). But in reality, she was incredibly concerned about him not going out at all and just sulking within the shop.
Sonny likes farming by the way. Relevant later.
Upon arriving at Gravity Falls, Sonny gets attacked by gnomes. Ford-who was there to pick Sonny up-shoos the gnomes away and they start chatting again.
Sonny doesn't question the portal. He just is kinda like, "Yeah sure ok". He also helps out with blueprints and moving material :D
Skip, skip, skip... (Sonny gets better and ends up having fun adventures with Ford and Fidds!)
At one point during the project, just near the testing, Sonny gets a call from Sage about his mother who had passed away due to the blood cancer which had become worse (treatment didn't do too well). Sun (his father) insists that he comes back for the funeral and cremation... but Ford insists that they finish up the project since they're almost done.
Sonny attempts to head home, but there were no buses to head back to New Jersey (and the trip is too far anyways!)...
Yeahh... he ain't doing too well.
He helps with the portal. Fiddleford gets traumatized. Sonny leaves the project with Fidds. And then he becomes a farmer after moving into some other cabin in the woods.
During the winter, Sage and his father visit for a while before heading back to New Jersey.
The days leading up to Ford's disappearance into the portal, Bill tears Sonny's crops uh. Yeah. :D
Skip again, Sonny notices something wrong with Ford. He wasn't acting like himself anymore. Opening up "The Murder Hut"? Making a tourist trap? Hey! That sounds like... STANLEY?!
That shit happens, slight misunderstanding.
Sonny helps Stan with the portal.
Also, Stan gives Sonny the opportunity to show off his art skills! So he's doing great! (and he likes to sell his crops).
That's about it for Sonny so far... but yeah! Lmk what ya'll think!

So! I have not watched it, BUT!!! I did listen to all the songs and have a general idea of what its about. I don't know how the kpop girl gang are revealed to be able to do this? is it genetic? Training? Either way is funny, because-

Its something they've trained their whole life to do, and the three of them are a band and still falling out and doing their thing since teenagers, but even funnier if like.
Fords running out of options, Bill's breaking through the dimensional walls, and he doesn't need the portal anymore, just needs to keep pushing and pushing, letting in demons and soon himself. Fords desperate, until, through total accident or prophecy, figures out the power of music can make the walls stronger. Maybe specifically the zodiac. He's the six fingered hand, he can sing the nearby walls closed, but if he can find the rest of the zodiac, he can boost the power!
Makes some kind of device to detect the members, and dang :/ only three of them (including himself) are currently alive. No worries, he'll find the other two, join together, and they can hold the walls together until the rest are born and can stabilize it permanently. I'm thinking Fords magic weapon is a gun, tracks down and convinces Fiddleford to join his new grown boy band that needs his banjo skills to charm the masses and save the dimension (and kill Bill if we really work at it but if not its fine ITSFINE). Time to make some songs and take this thing on the road so they can find their third member!
Fiddlefords weapon is either a magic banjo or like, spoons. Man ate himself out of a pterodactyl, let him horrify demons as he scoops them to pieces.
They do.. not great, but decent? The worlds not ending and they are getting rid of demons but oof. Turns out they get more power by people actually liking their music. And they. They are two nerds who haven't showered in ages, its an adjustment.
Then they get to New Mexico, track down their third member, and who should open the door with a bat and wild eyes but Stanley Pines himself, eyes bloodshot in his boxers and looking just terrible. No time for guilt or apologies! Fords gotta convince his brother to join their budding music career in order to save the world.
Stan: I don't want to do that
Fiddleford: You can get 50%

With the power of Stan to make them shower regularly and who has more experience charming people, while Ford works on their the schedule and Fiddleford makes sure neither of them go wild while also they make sure he doesn't go crazy with special effects. Stan's weapon is knuckle dusters, of course.
Then its the three of them, singing and fighting demons for thirty years until the rest of the zodiac is born and old enough to join their old man boy band that has had at least three falling outs and switched genres at least twice.
I personally don’t like to ship billford, so in this au i’d like to think there’s no romance and just pure mystery trio shenanigans ‼️‼️‼️ K-pop girl gang do take SOME training (vocal warm ups and how to fight in general)
