Gilled Copper Hayagriva, Tibet, 14th - 15th Century 銅鎏金三面六臂馬頭金剛明王護法神, 西藏, 14 - 15世紀 __________ In Tibetan Buddhism, Hayagriva (“having the neck of a horse”, “馬頭金剛明王護法”) is an important deity who originated as a yaksha attendant of Avalokiteśvara. Known as dharmapala, means “Dharma protector or defender”. Practice in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism, and was widely promoted by Buddhist Bengali religious leader and master, Atīśa Dīpaṃkara Śrījñāna. The King of Wrath, Hayagriva with three faces, six hands, with faces possesses three glaring eyes, mustache, eyebrows, and hair. With skulls as a crown, the four right legs are bent and the four left extended – treading on the form of the eight great nagas. __________ 馬頭金剛明王護法,又稱馬頭觀音是觀音的忿怒身。 有三頭六臂, 手持各種法器, 弓步展立姿勢, 火焰狀紅髮上燒,髮上有一馬頭是其標誌, 頭戴骷髏冠, 上身赤裸, 身掛瓔珞, 人頭與靈蛇索項鍊, 肩披象皮, 腰繫虎皮裙, 雙足踏蛇, 單層蓮座。 明王造相生動, 異常威猛, 孔武强壯, 怒髮衝冠, 面目猙獰, 表現兇悍, 無敵震懾威力, 令敵生畏。 腰下虎皮裙刻畫精細, 鎏金均勻沉厚。
