Thanksgiving Break!

I’m right there with you on the getting to catch up on sleep! This semester has been insane and I’m so glad to get even a short respite.

You’re staying here? You aren’t going home?

This is home for me.

After this it’s only a couple more weeks until Winter break though, ad that break is a lot longer. Unless you’re taking winter classes of course, which I might as well do if I’ll be here...still, though. The year’s almost out! And that’s something to celebrate.

No- I just have to be particularly invested in the subject. I also won’t break the law.

Well, I’m currently playing Roxie Hart in Chicago, which I’m sure you’ve heard about the absolute travesty from Rachel. I’m also in rehearsals for a cabaret show I’ve booked at Davenport’s Piano Bar, which is on the 30th of this month. Meaning that the director of the musical needs to decide that Rachel can perform again, because I booked that gig first.

Oh come on, a little law-breaking is fun sometimes! But I guess it’s a good thing you won’t go out of your way to kick somebody out of their house just ‘cause they were a little annoying. I’d probably be a little alarmed if that were the case-a little more than a little alarmed if you were like, bragging about it on the internet, because that’s just....weird and probably a really great way to get caught, you know?

I have heard that--I’m sure you’re doing  great job, but that is still just--ugh, whatever. The director’s an ass. Don’t let him ruin your other job. Especially a cabaret show ‘cause those are always the bee’s knees!

Can safely say I wasn’t expecting snow during my visit but here we are. Not that I’m not used to snow with living in New York, but sometimes when I’m in L.A. for an extended period of time I tend to forget what snow and cold weather is like. This being one of those times.

Mason, you’re the other the other person umm, Madison! Yes, she mentioned Mason. And judging by the last name I’m going to assume you’re related. Guilty as charged. That would be me. Uh, no. I’m not here for that reason.In fact I didn’t know he was getting married until a day ago.

You...didn’t know your own brother was getting married? Oh. Awkward.I’m glad I wasn’t the one to tell you first, at least! And you can help while you’re here, I”m sure, assuming Blaine and Sam need it.

Yeah, Madison’s my twin sister--I’m glad she’s already met you, it saves me having to be like guess who I’m talking to later! We were just in San Francisco for our birthday, though, it was definitely a nice change of pace. And temperature. But at least in Chicago the holidays feel like holidays, you know?

I don’t have any siblings, twins or otherwise, so I’m afraid I can’t relate, but that sounds nice.

I know my co-workers and one or two people at my gym. There’s also a homeless man who hangs out outside my apartment building. We’ve had the occasional conversation. But that’s really it. I haven’t lived here very long, only a few months.

If you’re not a total murderer or anything me and my friends have a little Friendsgiving thing this Friday! Bump the ‘people you know’ list up from two to like, ten, at least.

Oh my gosh, it is! Well, with the exception of Halloween, but that doesn’t really count, does it? It’s a different kind of holiday.

Hey, Halloween is totally a holiday! And you were together for our birthday...even if I took her out of the state for it. I’m sorry if that threw a wrench in any girlfriendy plans, btw.

We never really do holiday stuff. Is there anything we should bring to friendsgiving? I make some bomb cookies~

They weren’t joking when they decided to dub it the Windy City, were they? It’s certainly different than L.A. or New York. Not necessarily bad different but, well, we’ll just have to wait and see. Now, I know it can be intimidating with a celebrity around but don’t be afraid to ask questions, I promise I don’t bite.

I’m not sure what you mean by that. 

There’s a difference between being afraid of losing someone and going crazy because he commented on a photo of yours. I won’t dive into the details, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing for us exactly. But that doesn’t excuse my behavior and I’m sorry for it.

It means that I was kind of worried about you guys together--not because I liked Sam in that way or anything, ‘cause I didn’t and I still don’t, but just that  ...I wasn’t sure if the whole jealous possessive thing was a fluke or how it really was all the time, you know? But now I get it at least a little more, and I know you guys are crazy about each other, so I just--wanted to say it and mean that I wish you guys all the happiness in the world.

I’m sorry for encouraging it. ‘Cause it’s not like it was...entirely innocent, even if I didn’t mean anything by it. I would’ve been kinda stressed if my significant other was doing that or having it be done to him--you know what i mean. So I’m sorry, too.

Thanksgiving Break!

I can’t even explain how awesome it was to turn off all my alarms for next week; I’m so ready to catch up on all the sleep I’ve missed this semester.

I’m so glad me and Mads are staying in town for the holiday. No packing, just holiday movies and so much food.

Friendsgiving

Hello everyone! 

I realize that I may be a little premature in saying so, but I want to give everyone the time to get their schedules in order if they should want to attend. 

On Black Wednesday (that’s the day before Thanksgiving), I’ll be hosting a Friendsgiving potluck dinner at my home. It was a tradition that I began last year – it sort of doubled as a housewarming party at that time – and I would like to continue it in the event that there are any of you among us who aren’t able to (or don’t want to) go home or don’t have family nearby to celebrate the holiday with. 

While I myself am no longer directly involved with LAMT, I do still consider many of you my castmates, and that, in my opinion, makes us family. Beyond that, I think a lot of us don’t always realize that there are ties binding us together – ties in our beliefs, in our expanded network of friendships, and we’re always welcoming new people into our hearts as we meet them and find out what else we have in common. 

Please bring yourself, a favorite dish (store bought is perfectly fine!), and a guest if you’re able and willing! This is the time of year when I want to truly appreciate the people who have come into my life and made it as amazing as it is – and get to know those of you I haven’t had the chance to get close to yet.

So who can I expect to see there?

Well, I don’t mind people who talk a lot as long as they don’t expect me to respond in kind. Your sister sounds very different from you. Are you two close?

She’s my best friend, my favorite person in the whole world, and my soulmate. We’re twins. Of course we’re close! I’d trust her with my life, easypeasy, and I now she’d trust me with hers, too.
