#i have complicated feelings on this #and a lot of it is based on the fact i literally work for a family as their nanny and the dad owns his own plastic surgery company #and ive been doing their social media while their normal person is on maternity leave #and i absolutely think there are people who have wacked out views of the world and of other people #like people who see beauty as One Thing and Try To Conform Others To It #but this guy also does a TON of reconstruction work #and it’s insane to see like oh this guy can take like necrotic damaged ears or noses and like basically repair it completely #i think there is a difference between like offering a service if people want it and providing it to people who need it #like restoring shattered facial bones #and being like This Is Beauty Look Like This #i’m sure my view is being influenced by knwoing this family and liking them #but i went from feeling like Oh This Is Evil #to like this is literally like any other form of body modification for any number of reasons #i think their is morality in selling people that they NEED something when they dont #but there is not morality in someone choosing to do cosmetic procedures or in offering those cosmetic procedures #ive been at work for 10 hours so i’m not sure how coherent i’m being #this is also not at Op #just tangential thoughts ive been having

actually incredible how zagreus is the sgg's first speaking protagonist and like... the notes that came with him for voice direction in this gdc interview in 12:37-14:40

in his flaws: "limited social contact with others, so a bit prone to talking to himself instead" and it actually works being a YAPPER in the environment he is in/and grew up

other thing i like about the way they've done with zag is that he's specifically designed to be soft-spoken, well-spoken, already in spite of his background. the way that he is supposed to be "edgy dark haired main character" and subverted the expectations of this by simply talking in this manner while maintaining his depth.

his demeanor: "sardonic, defiant, rebellious, at times brooding; always expecting the worst, yet there's a glimmer of hope in him."
