“You have seen hell and now hell lives in you.”
— Lucy, Detroit: Become Human
Amazing how when you let down your guard with someone, feel yourself sinking closer towards the smell of their body, your head turns to the tilt of their head, your heart paces and the smiles become real and uncontrollable
how music can suddenly sound loud, penetrated, and fierce. How fears can show themselves and you remember why you didn’t want to love anyone to begin with. Or you’re hit with the even worst realization that you’ve put yourself in a vulnerable state that leaves you feeling raw, exposed and slightly wary of the cold.
Yeah. Souls do that to other souls. And it can be a bit much.

you won’t find God at a bar.
The truth is better spoken out loud.
“If it made you smile… it was worth it.”

Nobody likes the tuna here.

God
There is God in life.
God in graceful ways our body’s walk to and from paths - redirected constantly - sometimes feeling push forward onto roads that have signs that read Yield.
God in the heart when it flutters at this sight of a soul your soul just collided with like subatomic particles and dark matter.
There is God in our mistakes, our guilt from not being able to predict the future and yet we press on in hope that may be unconstituted.
But there is God in our flesh. Even if the flesh is a mere shell.

When you come barreling into the world I will be as you will one day know me, old and just mom. But not too long ago I was like you. Full of smiles, future hopes and lots of mother goose rhymes. I knew of bribery, of grandmas and grandpas, of doggy heavens and of gravity. I knew of big moons and stormy skies, and hearing god speak through the clouds. I knew what copper pennies tasted like, hissing cats felt like and what a gravel road does to you at midnight. Once, I was you. But you are not me. Like so many parents before me, I will promise you will not feel the back of a hand or an unreasonable No.
I want your soul to bloom into a forest so bright with sunlight and fresh morning dew that you only walk barefooted into the grass. Digging your toes in the top soil of a garden you will one day spend hours catching sunlight in your blonde hair as you effortless pull weeds and plant flowers.
be free my child. That is all I will ever want for you.

“A year from now, what you’re stressing about what even matter. Let it go.”

This is true. Moments are temporary. Childhood is fleeting. Love is unraveling and revealing. Stress is consuming and down right dreary. Accept your problems and move on. God has a problems but he created such beautiful pieces on this planet that with one glimpse of its beauty - you can let go.
