fun fact uncontacted peoples are not ignorant they are fully aware of the "outside world" and are CHOOSING not to have contact because they (rightly) feel it would add no value to their lives and place them in an exploited position. it's voluntary. they are isolated on purpose.
sentinelese people aren't like some ignorant noble savages, or actual savages who are all about warfare and killing (wildly racist take i see very often), they are literally regular ass fucking people who have seen the exploitation of their neighbors (other andamanese people) AND the massive disease outbreaks caused by contact, and decided they want no part in that. they are literally regular people choosing to survive. that's it.
For those in the notes arguing about whether "uncontacted" is the correct term; whether or not it seems the most accurate, it's the term that is being used. "Uncontacted" just means they reject contact with non-Indigenous society, not that they are isolated from all other people or don't know it exists or have never spoken to a white person before. Uncontacted peoples’ rejection of contact is often rooted in memories of devastating past contact and invasion, which brought violence, epidemics and death. Their denial of contact is a clear expression of their autonomy and self-determination.

I hate the way that people act as though transfeminism began in 2007 with Whipping Girl. I genuinely despise it. As if Emi Koyama (may her memory be a blessing) didn't write the Transfeminist Manifesto and very explicitly vocalize her regret for overemphasizing MTF experiences and for not being more inclusive of FTM and nonbinary people in 2001. As if Kate Bornstein, Leslie Feinberg, and Riki Wilchins just did nothing and didn't exist for years before both Koyama and Serano. It makes me ill!!!!!!!!!!
I am sooooo tired of seeing "actually this post is about women not trans men" slapped on to feminist posts and then when that is questioned or challenged, the response is "this is for women specifically because of the societal expectations placed on them."
I'm going to hold your hand as I say this to you. Those same expectations are placed on trans men. Trans men are also expected to be mothers and wives. Trans men also face misogyny and are harmed by it, in the same ways cisgender women are.
It reads like a lot of people think of trans men as Cis Dudes With Pussies when the vast majority of trans men are living (or have lived) many of the same experiences as cis women, and should be included in these conversations.
For example, if the conversation is about how young girls are brought up to believe the must be wives and mothers — many (most, even) trans men grew up with those same expectations! It is equally liberating for young trans men to realize they don't have to be mothers and wives as it is for cis women, with the only difference potentially being an additional gender affirming layer.
it does suck that the government defunded PBS but it's also so fucking funny that now that they don't take uncle sam's slavery dollars they're running videos like "How america's foundation was built on genocide"

As someone who has watched many trans Native brothers disappear from the community without even a word or report, I genuinely despise the white trans women who want to say that they're somehow oppressed by Native trans men and trans men of color. At least your death will be passed around in the wider community and you'll have people defending you. Many news sources comment on Nolan's alterations to the role, because he removes many of those underhanded traits and makes him a figure of honor and bravery. imho these changes are still transphobic and misogynistic, because he instead makes Page's Sinoh a naive young solider eager to please and who doesnt know anything about any strategy or deceit. In that way, he's just stripped of agency and his entire role in the story, which makes it strange to choose this character for Page to play except through the lens of transphobia.

Also when people thought the role was actually going to be Achilles, who is also not in the Odyssey and is a well-known queer figure but in popular culture still associated with masculinity (and is at least a character people KNEW), he got enough online backlash it was commented on by news sources. Elon Musk was a huge part of the hate campaign against him and Lupita Nyong'o, singling them both out specifically.

Tbc i didn't make this post to call out a specific blogger i was interacting with, I was not only frustrated by the post but then looked up Elliot Page's tag AFTER that interaction and found that a lot of people genuinely believed Nolan wrote him a better character after he transitioned.
This is transphobia, it is a specific kind of transphobia against trans men where they are very obviously treated "not like real men" and deal with misogyny and transphobia most of the time, but when people start talking gender politics theyre "one of the boys."

not every social interaction has to be rooted in sexuality and the second a lot of girls start denying their body to others they lose a lot of opportunities for connection and I think a lot of us pretend it just doesn't happen like that
Always tough seeing how rampant polyphobia still is online with the same hateful talking points as any queerphobia. People openly and snarkily celebrating someone grieving a break up in a poly or open relationship because they’re “bound to fail” and “hopefully you learned your lesson” (as if every queer relationship hasn’t faced this exact scrutiny in the past. “See, this gay couple broke up. Yet another example of why homosexuality is destined to fail because it’s unnatural.”).
But then I remember how everyone IRL I’ve trusted to talk to about my poly relationship has either been immediately accepting of it or been really curious and asked me to explain how it works. And when I do, they go, “Huh. I don’t get it but it sounds like it works for you.” The best response was when Tulli explained navigating jealousy and compersion to an older, married person and they went, “Wow, I wish I heard this stuff when I was younger.” It’s a good reminder that in real life people suck less and have more stakes and motivation to show basic human empathy. Harder to be a random dickhead when you can’t just say something shitty to a stranger and run away scot-free.

it's barely depicting the vulva (the external hole is visible in ONE panel, from a distance, and otherwise you are only seeing the internal organs), and its clearly health information. calling it a "cartoon of a vagina" is kind of obscuring the specific context of it being a very tame medical diagram showing how to do something that many people do every month starting from middle school.

tumblr's official age requirement is 13+ and plenty of 13 year olds use tampons. so there's no reason to me that image isn't suitable for all ages (13 year olds should not be protected from basic sex ed), it isn't sexually explicit, it doesn't even have an "overt focus on genitalia" despite being about genitalia, and the actual post is also just about nonsexually caring for a neovagina. "mature" is very clearly a label meant for erotic content, not non-erotic sexual education.
